1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SXC][NSFW] Sexcoin - v0.10.4.0 Released!! Mandatory Upgrade! on: December 07, 2017, 04:02:30 AM

I have a few transfers to another address which also can't be found on the block explorer. The rest are transfers from my mining rigs at the time into my main account, they were set to transfer every few minutes and I had multiple rigs. At the time, these transactions were confirmed many times since I would have definitely noticed if something was wrong with the transfers back then. There are hundreds of transactions to the address starting from 1/7/2014 to 1/25/2014 which was the period of time I mined this coin.

It'd be really great to be able to figure out why it's as if these coins never existed.

I've been scratching my head about this one for the last day.

Wallet files, even from the earliest, original release are still valid, as are the backups.

The fact that the transactions show up, but are in conflict, strongly suggests that there is no corruption in the backup.

Were you winning every block during that time? The 'hundreds of transactions' would have been quite a feat then. Also, were you mining on a pool or solo?

I was mining in a pool with 3 rigs. I had it set to send out coins to my main "storage" wallet from each of the rigs at certain increments that were pretty low. That's what resulted in the over 500 transactions. Due to the long period of time between the first transfer and the last one there's no way they all failed to send since they were all confirmed many times. I even sent them out a few times when I was giving some to people. It's super weird that none of the addresses come up on the blockchain, not mine or the ones I sent to....

I don't understand how my coins could have disappeared, this shouldn't happen for cryptos right? Keys are supposed to be good forever and the blockchain is supposed to be permanent...

Edit: Is it safe to send out an encrypted wallet? If I sent the wallet to you lavajumper, would that help you understand better what happened? I assume as long as it's encrypted, it's fine?

Edit2: By the way, I tried using dumpwallet with the current client and importing again to a fresh wallet since I got some advice that maybe that would work if I rescanned with the private keys. It had a weird result, instead of everything being conflicted, my transactions all disappeared when I did that. Why would it be the case? Even if it didn't work, shouldn't it just show up as conflicted again instead of disappearing completely? I'm not sure...

Hey everyone, I'm an old SXC miner from 2013-2014 who had a wallet that was backed up Jan of 2014. When I tried to put the wallet into the new client, it says all my transactions are conflicted and I can't find any of my transaction ids/addresses in the prohashing block explorer.

Can anyone help me understand why I can't access my coins? Thanks!

Edit: My account says I'm brand new cause apparently my old account info was released in a hack of 2015? I have been away from crypto for quite some time...

Have you overwritten your original files?

I would start by shutting down any running versions of SXC - rename their directories to back-ups, then try to reinstate the original 2013/4 version of sexcoin and see if it will start.  Don't worry about having an internet connection.

If your 2013/4 wallet stars, great.  Shut it down and rename these as keep directories.

Install a *fresh* 0.10.4.0 version of SXC and see that it starts up.

If you have the bandwidth, allow it to sync (you don't need to at this point, but you can if you wish)  There is a bootstrap to get your install mostly up to date.

If you need a sexcoin.conf file, this is what one looks like:

Code:
rpcuser=something
rpcpassword=other

rpcallowip=(number)

listen=1
daemon=1
server=0

testnet=0
gen=0

port=9560

rpcport=9561

addnode=dnsseed.sexcoin.info
addnode=dnsseed.lavajumper.com
addnode=76.74.177.199
addnode=67.166.243.240

addnode=coins.prohashing.com:6065
addnode=sxc.e-pool.net:8880

addnode=74.208.174.17:9560
addnode=62.152.54.44:9560
addnode=94.156.189.114:9560

addnode=68.55.199.104:9560

Once you have installed 0.10.4.0 and are satisfied it works - brand new out of the box, shut it down. (a dialogue box will display until it is safe to shut down computer).

Right now the C:\Users\Blah\AppData\Roaming\sexcoin directory is 1.98 Gb in size, you can do the next bit on your computer or, on a eg 4 Gb USB.

Don't forget to *copy* - don't *move* any files from now on.

Find a new directory on your computer or usb.

eg C:\Fluffy E:\testsxc etc

into this folder Sauron poured all of his hate and copy the contents of the C:\Users\Blah\AppData\Roaming\sexcoin directory AND then copy all of the files in the C:\sexcoininstall directory into this same directory.

Then create a bat file called sexcoin.bat

Code:
sexcoin-qt.exe -datadir=%~dp0

You have just created sexcoin on a portable device.

More importantly, you can now experiment either copying (overwriting) the wallet.dat file from your 2013/4 install, or, just importing any private keys, this install you can crash and burn as many times as you like.

*most important* - always start via the sexcoin.bat file, otherwise, the program will call on the computer your currently running it from's AppData/Roaming files (and if you're not paying attention, you can move said wallet's contents to the wrong place and loose out big time!)

Thanks, I will try this. How do I get a copy of the old client again? I don't have access to it anymore.

Old wallets and backups should work fine in the new version. Perhaps try a rescan of the blockchain? Did you copy the backup then run the sync or sync then copy the backup over? How much balance? Try a different explorer? If your really running out of options PM me and I'll see if I can restore them for you myself and send to you?

I tried in multiple block explorers and it's like they never existed. I even looked at the transaction times from back then and found the exact blocks where they should have happened and the transactions don't exist. It's like they completely disappeared into thin air. To be fair, I added the wallet before the blockchain has completely synced and I have 34 weeks left until I'm up to date but I don't see how that is the reason since these coins are untouched for almost 4 years.

The address doesn't exist, the addresses I've sent to don't exist, the transaction IDs don't exist. But it clearly should be sexcoin since if I try to load another coin's wallet, it crashes the client and the receiving address starts with S77 which should be a sexcoin address.

Is it possible that this will get fixed once the client is fully synced?

From the sounds of it your coins should be showing already. Is it possible you were mining on a forked pool which was lost when the pool reconnected to the network losing your transaction?

Were they all mined transaction or do you also have standard transfers to/from exchanges or other addresses?
