Just wondering how you are keeping the temperature on the cards at reasonable C.  From looking at the board, if you are using GPUs that take 2 spaces, they will be right next to each other with very little space in between.  I tried that and was getting temperatures in the 90Cs when overclocked and running at 85% on fans.

Thanks,

im running the 5870 in the #1 slot which is on top so it runs a bit warmer but gets more air.

5870 @ 88C
5830 @ 76C
5830 @ 68C
using MSI Afterburner i have custom set the fans to run faster than auto settings, i have also install 3 extra case fans... guess it prbly helps that the unit is sitting beside a central air  vent pulling in A/C! Smiley

88c! I think you are pushing it with that temp

stable for over a week, guess ill take my chances. thx

Both cards on 1 motherboard no volt mods stock (1.163).

Very tempted to try and see what 1.25V will allow me to overclock the card to, STABILY.

GA P55-USB3 no separation cables. I have Sustained these speeds for about 2 days now.

I ran the cards solid at 1000/300 for about 2weeks, with no issues. Couple days ago decided to try Phoenix miner. After some trial and error found out that POCLBM gives me about 5-8Mhash more then phatk.

I have the Mobo on a tabletop, no case with two 120MM Fans blowing on the cards, with the GPU Cooling Fans at 80%.

from my experience on the Sapphire cards, the voltage cannot be overclocked without manually modding the board... if anyone knows differently please enlighten me.

9  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: new additional PSU and motherboard! suggestions please. on: June 15, 2011, 03:51:06 PM
i realize that im not running 6970s...but i am running x2 5830s and x1 5870, on one board. so heres my input.

im using -
**Thermaltake Black Widow W0319RU 850W ATX 12V - newegg.com $130 (this PSU only comes with 4 PCIE x6 connectors, but using the additional molex and the included (2) x6PCIEs included with one of the GPUs the 3rd card is powered
**ASRock 890GX EXTREME4 AM3 AMD - newegg.com $130 SOLD OUT

with both cards over clocked im pulling on average 550W (only 65W AMD CPU)

this MBoard/PSU setup up should work good for you too...

+1
the other benefit is if you are OC'ing or have heat issues you know exactly which miner is dying and you can go straight to the issue card without needing to trouble shoot the working ones. Even if not OC then you can see when you have a failure.

17  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Sapphire 5830 Memory clock < 550 Issue on: June 01, 2011, 06:43:03 PM
close to the same setup running here, 230Mhash/s per GPU, no OC. first attempted to turn Mem speed down on one card resulted in the same issues between 400-550MHz using MSI Afterburner.
i was stable at 600MHz and then after dropping to 550MHz i lost 4hrs troubleshooting and reconfiguring to isolate the issue to a single card and then getting it reset to the factory defaults. Will i was having the issue the video on the card that was turned down to 550MHz would allow login to Windows and then crash to a blue or sometimes blue with lines screen. (not BSOD tho) which i could only resolve with a hard reboot.

fyi - now using the solution here http://forum.bitcoin.org/?topic=6575.0 for the DVI solution on the 2nd card!!
