The guy (nick szabo aka Kevlar) took about 60BTC from a member of the Feathercoin team to invest. After peddling his knowledge as a expert trader. Then disappeared not really a trustworthy guy.

Do you think artificially lowering the number of total coins unfairly favours early adopters? Would this stop you investing?

This is just to get a feel for the altcoin communities feelings in this issue as it is being discussed in various coins at the moment.

Feel free to post a more detailed answer or suggest more / better options and I'll add them.

Hi I'm Kris I'm the one who has been working on getting the android app back up and running.

So the issue with the Feathercoin android wallet is that is does not have NeoScrypt in the java feathercoinj project so it is rejecting blocks after the hard fork.

So there are three things that needed doing.
1.) First get NeoScrypt which is a c program working with Java via jni.
2.) Integrate the jni code into feathercoinj (with multi platform support)
3.) Rebuild the android wallet with the updated feathercoinj library. And update the code to hash using NeoScrypt after the fork block.

So far I have managed to get number one working. Its taken a while as I know Java but both JNI and c are new areas for me so I have had to learn as I go.it still requires some automated tests bit I think they would be better placed inside feathercoinj.

Im not really one to get involved in this type of thread but I'm surprised there has been no real defence of LTC not innovating and just being a downstream clone of BTC with a switched algorithm.

Not to say it's not working for litecoin. They do have a large trading volume.

To be fair that is where FTC started off over a year and a half ago but its come quite a long way with the algo change and all the innovation that's being added to the technology.

Even BTC is innovating but maybe at a slower pace due to the size. I don't really think any crypto can rest up on the work that was done 2 years ago and expect a bright future.

Am I wrong has there been any innovation in LTC?

Hi and thanks for the message about orbit to our website. My wife actually runs sweetems not myself but I am a team member of the Feathercoin community so know more about crypto. I think in the long run we would like to accept many different crypto currencies as payment and I will seriously look into your offer. But the freewebstore.org platform does not support crypto yet. I have looked into using the API to integrate Feathercoin payments but have not got anything working yet.

Its nice to meet you guys and I'll keep you informed on any progress. If you decide to produce a orbit payment plugin for freewebstore.org pop over to the Feathercoin forum and I'll jump at the chance to use it.

He is a graphic designer by trade and has submitted numerous designs to many different competitions. Whether you like his design or not is purely subjective and just a matter of opinion. 

One of the reasons I went looking for a different community last April when I first got into crypto was the hostility on this forum. People don't treat each other with respect and the way noobs are treated with contempt and ridiculed for asking questions everyone needs to answer is  disgusting.

All iawgoM has done is let some others know that there was a competition on and that he had entered a design. This isn't some kind of conspiracy you can't decide how others should vote. I would hope that everyone would vote on merit as I can't really see any benefit in voting for loyalty.

I actually really like iawgoMs design. I like the miner output in the hologram on the back as bitcoin is made secure through the miners endeavours on the blockchain. But to be fair I don't have to explain myself to anyone.

May I just say I've been involved in both BTC and FTC for over a year and for anyone to
question my reasoning for voting just because I'm a member of a different forum is frankly
discrimination. I made my decision based on merit which was not easy as there are a lot of great designs.

As far as the copying goes the only similarly is the number 5 which I believe is older than either design.
Your older design has a 5 inside a bitcoin logo which is very different.

I'm glad to hear this coin being discussed again here.
Your right about the importance of community and that's always been feathercoins focus.

There are a great bunch of people in that community. Doing some really amazing work. How many coins can say one of their developers created a new hashing algorithm? Feathercoin just did this.

And don't be worried about move to NeoScrypt without a GPU miner. One is already in development and they won't switch until its ready. This is an experienced community who value their coin and are not going to rush things.
