1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 💰[BOUNTY] Join UPcoin’s referral program and earn a whopping $2700+ per month on: January 09, 2018, 02:20:33 AM
can you really list 1000 currencies from the start???
Of course not. They don't know what they are talking about. They don't even understand the technical difficulty to make it work to list so many coins, with so many different protocols and require different types of wallet. For comparison, long standing exchanges like binance, bittrex, poloniex... only support 100-250 coins now.

They say "traders from 170 countries are interested in working with us". Well the site isn't even up yet.

upcoin.com was the domain for a ponzi scheme not even a year ago
http://behindmlm.com/mlm-reviews/upcoin-review-1-micro-pyramid-with-half-cent-bitcoin-lottery/

Google "upcoin.com scam" and you see right away a few youtube videos defending the site. Sounds legitimate, until you see it's uploaded by Upcoin.com Exchange.

At first they claim first 1000 users get the bonus:

Then 10k users:
https://www.reddit.com/r/icocrypto/comments/7om70v/new_upcoin_exchange_enlisting_all_100_top_coins/
Then 20k users:
https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/7ogo1d/is_upcoin_legit_or_an_elaborate_scam_it_says_it/
Then 100k users.
When I registered to test, it says the number of registrations are 230543, and yet I still get the bonus. Lol.

Don't let me start on the amateurish website and testimonials.

Poor English.
Deliberate misleading bonus program.
Exaggerated claim: Saying you will support 1000 coins right from the start, whereas even established sites like Binance Bittrex... only support ~100-200 coins.
Useless testimonials from anonymous noname.

Sounds like obvious scam to me.

"RNG was never a problem with major poker clients anyway" - that is exactly the current problem in online poker, because every company bends it to their needs!
rng is rigged, everyone knows!!!
Lol sorry, only rig tards complain about RNG (well if you play on shady Asian sites then I don't blame you, I concur that these sites do cheat).

But on mature and legitimate platforms like PokerStars, PartyPoker, 888, Winamax, ACR... RNG were NEVER an issue.

I play poker professionally for years. There are a lot of problems with online poker far beyond RNG, that CoinPoker does not solve.

I suggest anyone who wants to invest into this "crypto coin" to read this thread:
https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28/internet-poker/ann-ico-coinpoker-poker-future-today-1694786/
(twoplustwo is by far the biggest poker forum in the world for those who don't know)

A lot of interesting discussion going on there. Very smart people who understand very well the poker industry scrutinize coinpoker and expose it as potentially a scam.

Play freeroll there if you want, but stay way from it if you want to "invest".
I am one of the players in that thread, and consider myself quite knowledgeable on the subject of these emerging projects.  It's not right to say "potentially a scam".  Players have always been careful in protecting their community, it is bad everyone is scams run rampant.  It's bad for the game and scares away potential players.

So we are scrutinizing the project, but its not that it seems like a scam, it just must pass the player's scrutiny and this will take time to discover.

But it is a good idea for anyone to check that thread out, it has a different tone because there are many professional and full time players kicking around 2p2.

Cheers Smiley

(the above post about renting a bot IS certainly a scam though and I reporting it Wink

That's why I say "potentially" a scam, I didn't say it's a scam right away. But if anyone reads that thread, I think it's clear CoinPoker has way too many concerning problems going on at the moment, from their technologies, to their human resource choice, their way of handling private data/information, their stance against decentralization from their head of security, and so on. Also, the fact that they keep dodging questions after questions in that thread despite being asked repeatedly is also a red flag.

I think most people in the bitcointalk community only plays poker for fun. They don't know the in and out of the poker industry, what problems we have now, and how CoinPoker actually is going to solve those. They are a bit too optimistic. I just post the thread so that people can at least inform themselves properly before making investment decisions.

Personally, my impression about CoinPoker is:
- Very nice client implementation, I was surprised to see a project that started just a while ago has such a good poker client (much better than many long standing clients). Until I know it's just a re-skin of existing software.
- They are correct when they say with Ethereum network it's impossible to fully decentralize poker cause the transaction time takes way too long. But maybe they should investigate other platform then? Like Iota?
- But if it's that way, then the only thing CoinPoker has better than current poker softwares is the fact that their RNG is decentralized. But RNG was never a problem with major poker clients anyway. We can actually verify RNG better by analyzing statistical data from hand histories.
- And CoinPoker has a lot of major short comings compared to other poker softwares, for example the fact that we can't export hand histories to analyze with 3rd party softwares - a crucial way to prevent cheating, detecting collusion and other foul plays.

All in all, I would say that with the way it's heading, CoinPoker has even more security issues than PokerStars or other major poker clients.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO is NOW LIVE]ClearPoll - Social public opinion polls on the blockchain on: December 08, 2017, 02:06:39 PM
Nobody cares what do you think.
Well if you think it's totally normal for a team to just ignore genuine questions from the community and is not communicative, then I also don't care about your opinion.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO is NOW LIVE]ClearPoll - Social public opinion polls on the blockchain on: December 08, 2017, 07:08:21 AM
So, many people have repeatedly asked your team questions about the mechanism behind ClearPoll, and you just keep dodging the questions.

If this doesn't raise a red flag, I don't know what does. Even if the project idea has potential (which I still have some doubt), don't think the team is good enough for it to succeed.
