1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: December 14, 2017, 11:53:06 AM
Not in the near future, anytime, as bitcoins are not that much mass adopted that people will start using bitcoin only, and it is not even that widely accepted. However, it may change the way banks do their business, and it has already started its impact on many banks in some developed countries, as they are switching to BTC and banks are losing customers. So, due to bitcoin, they may soon have to modify their policy.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need to invest in bitcoin? on: December 14, 2017, 11:32:36 AM
We dont 'need' to invest, it is just opinion. But some ways to motivate you to invest into bitcoin are its decentralized peer-to-peer structure and end to end encryption that keeps our currency extremely secure and we dont need any third party intervention to keep our money safe. Also, the underlying structure, blockchain, is going to be used in the future for various verification processes and this will further fuel bitcoin's rise to greatness, thus enabling you to achieve greater profits in the near future.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth? on: December 13, 2017, 11:44:09 AM
Definitely, social media has always been a great place for awareness building, and this definitely helps to spread bitcoin and further help out in mass adoption. There are also various social-media campaigns undertaken by certain companies and help to further fuel this cause.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: December 13, 2017, 11:35:48 AM
Bitcoin is not going to be a super globally recognized currency anytime soon though. So, at least for the near future, it is completely upon yourself to decide whether you want to pursue it. However, you want to explain BTC to teenagers, you could just first give them an introduction about the blockchain, peer-to-peer, decentralized structure, and make them watch some YouTube vids and reads some articles, they should be good to go.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is BTC for you? on: December 12, 2017, 12:49:57 PM
For me, bitcoin is much more of an insight into what the future will be for a currency that can be used all over the world, that is global. Also, honestly, of course it is an opportunity for me to get rich, but I think that goal is a long way to go. Right now, I am more interested in understanding how Bitcoin can be used in a more optimistic way and put to new uses to help the world.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is bitcoin on: December 11, 2017, 11:34:55 AM
You could just say that bitcoin is a currency whose all data is stored and encrypted virtually, there is nothing physical in the play here. You could also tell him just a little bit about mining and blockchain and the decentralized peer to peer structure of bitcoin, and they if he wanted to know more, you could just tell him to look it up or come here to BitcoinTalk and see and understand the real deal for himself.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with the people who don't like Bitcoin? on: December 09, 2017, 11:33:06 AM
You just simply cant do anything to them, it is their opinion, and everyone can, after all, have their own opinions about everything. It is their wish that they wish to hate an asset that could have given them a huge amount of income and would have been worth to invest in. You can only advice them once or twice, can't force them to change their opinion. After 2-3 years they will surely realise the magnitude of the mistake they made.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT IS MORE LIKELY FOR BITCOIN BY JANUARY.. A CORRECTION OR 20K? on: December 08, 2017, 10:13:50 AM
I think a stable rise to $20000 is much more likely, atleast until this January. This is because bitcoin usually rises at a huge rate during the Christmas-New Year week, and a correction is not very likely. However, a correction to around $16000-$17000 is possible at around mid-February.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you USE your BTC? on: December 08, 2017, 09:38:05 AM
I have used my BTC in the past here and there for payments, but they always have been very small amounts, and in my country there is actually not many places that physically accept bitcoin. The lack of bitcoin acceptance in Amazon and other online merchant sites has also been a problem to me, but I will solve that in future with gift cards.

For me, lack of acceptance is definitely a big issue here.
