The Virtual Doctor Project is a UK registered charity that connects rural health clinics in Africa with volunteer doctors around the world via the local mobile broadband network. This allows our 'virtual doctors’ to offer free diagnostic and treatment advice, improving the primary health care in local communities and helping to reduce the level of unnecessary mortality and number of referrals to distant hospitals.

In Zambia in Sub-Saharan Africa where we work, 1 in 9 children will not reach the age of 5 and 13.5% of the population is HIV positive, yet there are almost no doctors at all in rural areas where the majority of the population live. We are trying to make a huge difference to very poor areas using the technology that most of us take for granted. Please donate and help us provide the IT equipment and training that they need to connect to our service.
Thanks very much!We are now accepting Bitcoin donations at the following address:

We are also keen to locate UK suppliers of IT and electronic equipment that accept Bitcoin payments so we can purchase our much needed gear using Bitcoin donations directly and then ship them out to Zambia. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
A huge thankyou to Johnathan at MetaLair.org ( No_2 ) for all his help in getting us up to speed and ready to accept Bitcoin donations
