1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Coinbase] Hard time moving BTC from Vault to other Wallet on: March 14, 2018, 10:00:30 PM
I am in the same situation.  It won't let me confirm from the 2nd email.

Me as well. Been trying to transfer from LTC Vault to Wallet since 2/27/2018. Open 2 tickets with them now and have to go through the whole proving sessions/emails until they say they will escalate and release on their end then silence. This is so frustrating that I can always approve the first email link and the 2nd says I've already done that even though I clearly haven't given the status of that email says waiting.

Currently looking to sell some of my S9's (also have 1 brand new). Please PM me only for details (do not reply here). Wanted to give Kano members the option first.

16.5 days ramping now with 3 S9s... I'm so ready for this block to reveal itself...

Mine on!

P.S. A few easier ones after this would be nice as well lol

Almost 16 days ramping now so I may be full on next block (fingers crossed). I appreciate you guys waiting for me but it's really not necessary. Whoever is hiding the block can reveal it now...

And I had chicken for lunch as well... Just saying.

haha...

there goes that theory/advantage/whatever you want to call it.

i guess the math is either wrong or right, but if the later, doesn't present a very pretty picture... I guess we'll hope it's wrong.

Check out this mornings version of minergain.com - changing that N/A for the week to 0.0000 inflicted all sorts of punishment on the numbers it appears. Sad

I'm not sure why everyone seems to think this month is so bad...with the average pool hash rate we've had this month the expected number of blocks is somewhere between 8.2 and 8.4 for 31 days...we already have 8.  Even if we don't get another that's pretty damn good!

100% agree. I haven't heard anyone say this month is bad, did I miss something?

8 blocks is all it takes for me to do better than slush. This one would be a bonus.

I left Slush for a number of reasons but here's one of the biggest...

When the pool was 1.52 Eh/s I was getting an average reward of 0.00050955 BTC for 40.5 Th/s.
When the pool was 1.82 Eh/s I was getting an average reward of 0.00036331 BTC for 40.5 Th/s.

The Slush pool is now over 2+ Eh/s so I can't even imagine how much smaller my payouts would be at this point. With my very limited actual results so far on Kano I am seeing an average of 0.02263097 BTC per block found. This is why I jumped to Kano although I do have some concerns if the pool shrinks. If it grows then of course rewards will as well but hopefully that helps us find more blocks as well. I would not change the ramp because it rewards the loyal and not the pool jumpers.

Anyone else having issues getting to the website?
Yep, can't reach it from here in Seattle either. Even having trouble pinging the main stratum server. NYA pings fine though.

Can't get to the main site but all my miners are pointed already to stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333 and working just fine.

Assuming this is accurate on the total network hashing power...

https://btc.com/stats/diff

On 1/10/2017 it was 2.41 Eh/s
On 1/13/2018 it was 15.95 Eh/s (562% gain)
On 1/24/2018 it was 18.63 Eh/s (17% gain in 11 days)

So my question being that I'm concerned how quickly my 40.5 Th/s will even be worth running. As pools grow profits are spread thinner and difficulty rises. Maybe someone who's been doing this longer than me could offer some insight? Truly just looking for some feedback but these numbers kind of startled me.

Edit: I'm not panicking, just looking for solid experience from those who've been doing this a lot longer than I have. I'm still pretty new to this (11/2017).

If you believe in $BTC rising in the next few years, you continue to run the miners.  If you can't afford to because you're constantly selling BTC to pay for upkeep/electricity/hosting, then maybe it's time to move on.   Just my two cents...you can still make bank off selling the s9's.

I'm with Rifleman, I'm sticking with it. I'm running 4 at the moment and I'm hoping to financially hold onto all the BTC I can. If you get in a bind and you need to dump those S9's holler at your boy! I'd even take that janky one that keeps dropping out. (at least we fixed the reboot issue together!)

I'm not hurting or having to take any out to pay bills since I'd prefer to let it ride in BTC and some other coins I believe in... That being said when my 4th arrives I'll have to commit to my power upgrade from 100 amp box to 200 amp. Was planning on running 3-220V circuits into the spare bedroom where they are now powered by extension cords running throughout the house (on circuits I know are 20 amp and don't get used). That means another $3000-3500 for the work out-of-pocket.

That one that drops occasionally runs better than my other 2 when it is running but the reboot through Awesome Miner is on top of it and gets it back on track in under 5 minutes. Strange that it will go a week with no issue and then need a kick sometimes 2 days in a row. Chips never go to X's and heat not an issue it just stops hashing on 1 to 2 boards and a reboot is like nothing ever happened.

There's just a portion of me that's new and nervous and another that is unwilling to stop or give up. Hard to tell which I should listen to. Even thought about selling the 4th to pay for power upgrade but they're so hard to get and I bought all 4 of them for $1415 each before they raised the price. Hard to give it up especially since it just adds to what I can make if I continue.

Hate to even admit that I tried Forex trading as well because I could program trading strategies into Meta Trader... Should have got out of that way sooner than I did lol

Maybe this will help a bit. Keep in mind these are averaged out and not promises for future rewards... They are based in real rewards but where I start going into per month and beyond those are based on projections of what I had already accomplished. And as for extra hashing being added I believe you'd see more of an affect on Slush than Kano because when they started topping 2 Eh/s on Slush my rewards (small to begin with) shrunk a lot. Again, if you're finding more blocks then it all evens out.

Kano

Slush

This info is awesome.  you guys are a really helpful community here.
I think i'm convinced - I'll point 54THs over to kano tonight, and review again 22 days later    Cheesy

other than the CKPool Status app .. is there another app that gives more detailed info about progress?

I use the app, minergain.com, Awesome Miner, and occasionally my daughter to keep track (while at work lol). And I try not to look more than once every 15 minutes to make sure we didn't find a block and something didn't tell me yet. I'm working my way up to hourly and hope someday I can just check daily... I'm not patient but I believe in Kano.

While the S9's each ramp up separately, you would be producing more total shares as they ramp up and earn more per block found as well. The ramping up may seem like a hurdle, but you have to remember there is always a "ramp down" period that is equal to the ramp up period. If you ever move machines or unplug them, you get rewards from blocks found after that even when you don't have your hashrate in the pool at the time.

Thanks for your response, this is helpful.

I'm not too bothered about having benefits due to ramp down.  In fact, the ramp up is not a big concern for me either, as in general, Im will to point to a pool and just leave it.

My main concern is .. i've tried quite a few pools and have gotten large variances in payout for the same equipment (even what is said on pools estimated data on their websites).  Im just trying to gauge the "steady state" payout (leaving difficulty out of the equation for the moment, as that applies to all pools), and which one is best for me to just set & forget.

For the past 5 days, i've been comparing Antpool, viaBTC, Bitcoin.com, Slush & Kano in parallel.  Kano is the only one that i'm not able to compare directly.

If the experienced folks here can share some insight as to what reward per S9, i could typically get (based on average luck & diff in the past few weeks) ..... i'm willing to point all my 121TH at the pool.

Maybe this will help a bit. Keep in mind these are averaged out and not promises for future rewards... They are based in real rewards but where I start going into per month and beyond those are based on projections of what I had already accomplished. A reboot of the S9 always brings everything back to life and it could be days/weeks before it happens again but it only happens to 1 of my 3 S9's.

The simple fix would be to just set up a script to reboot that miner once a day as long as that miner never craps out less than a day after reboot.  (so you won't have any long downtime)

If it is dying more than once a day you need a real fix on the hardware

Good idea. It's never happened sooner that say 3-4 days apart and will usually go for more than a week without issue.

So I have one of my S9s that will occasionally stop hashing on 1-2 boards. All chips still read as zeros and there really is nothing that stands out like high errors, X's for the chips, less that 189 chips total, etc. except that the board(s) that stops show a RT (real time) hash of zero. A reboot of the S9 always brings everything back to life and it could be days/weeks before it happens again but it only happens to 1 of my 3 S9's.

I use Awesome Miner and have created a custom notification to alert me if hash rate drops below 13 Th/s for longer than 10 minutes. I know you can also include a command to restart the miner but trying has not been successful following the documentation. I check for like 5 seconds ago, 5 minutes ago, and 10 minutes ago to make sure all 3 are true. For whatever reason this kind of averages it out to make sure the hash is not just fluctuating but is indeed dropped for the last 10 minutes. Maybe there is a better way but this worked for me. Anyways, I know some others here use Awesome Miner so I thought I'd share what I have and hope it proves handy to someone else.

I've never tried slush!
I'll give kano a go then slush... maybe 5 days for each pool!
we'll see, thanks for the charts!

Go back and read a few pages.  Wink

I agree...if you are going to mine for 5 days and use that as your test, then save yourself the trouble and just mine at Slush because you will be happier. However, if you are looking for the pool that pays you the most over time, then this is far superior to Slush.

I have been a part of this pool since January 12th and I already see why people get aggravated answering the same exact questions again and again. Please read a bit so you understand that mining for 5 days will not make you happy here, it wont leave you with a realistic outlook on your potential here, and will only leave you bitter at this pool.

All of the info is here, you just neee to read it and see how it applies.

Everything they said^ plus...

You have better benefits here the longer you mine once you’ve ramped up. Other pools like Slush and I can be ramped in just over an hour is good and bad. Means large amounts of hashing can come on and in a very small amount of time and your rewards go way down. Here at Kano, the loyal are paid better so if a huge amount of extra hashing is applied then you aren’t loosing anywhere near as much because they would have to be on for a long time to get paid in full for their efforts. Helps us in the short term when it’s been a while since last block but doesn’t allow them to steal all our thunder.
