I ran into something else interesting along the way the other day when I got the last pair of these. I had been running them on a USB2 bus and the 6 were always fine at full speed. After stepping up to 8 of them, I'd consistently see one slow down after a while. Moving them over to the USB3 bus of the same system fixed that. I wouldn't think the USB2 bus was saturated, so I don't really know why.
* Are you using external fans?? I could not see it so quickly from your picture. If not, have you measured your ASIC temperatur (small heatsink)? * Why are you using 4 of these hubs with just 2 MLDs each if you had both a USB2 and a USB3 hub that (I understand from your message) could take all 8 in one go?? (where only the USB3 gives all units at full speed)? * I have similar issues with running a certain number of MLDs just fine, and adding one or two more one or two units slowing down. It has been suggested it is an issue with USB hub getting 'stuck'. However, I am close to certain that on my hub it is a power issue and it could be that the powerlines in your USB 3 hub are either fatter or differently laid out on the PCB. It maybe takes a small additional voltage drop to cause problems. These babies draw a lot of current. That's my experience. But whatever the cause, I have seen similar things too. Great stuff. I am running 6 at 924Mhz and another 5 at 832Mhz (for the above reasons; all on one USB3 hub). Getting about the same as you, slightly less. I also have slightly higher hw rates (but then I tuned core voltage down as much as possible to reduce power and heat). Yes, a 120V fan cools these. All the hubs are the exact same USB3 hub, all of which were connected to a USB2 port on the computer initially, but when seeing one slow down after upgrading from 6 to 8 units, I moved the connection to a USB3 port which resolved that. You may have better luck using more than one hub, I certainly have. |

Up to 8 of these now which is probably as far as I will go. All are running happily at max speed and completely stable.  woh thats impressive...how are you running so many at max speed for nearly 5 days that stable?? I don't even think I have achieved that in my tests. What kind of hub do you have? lol I'm using 4 Anker hubs with 2 on each, they just aren't stable with more than 2 on each one. All are daisy chained together going to one USB port on the computer. These things just are so ragged edge on USB power consumption when turned up that this is the only way I've been able to get reliable performance. I was curious about the amps being drawn on the ML2 running at 900Mhz and 5.10Mhs and today i received a little USB inline meter. To my surprise the sole unit I have right now says that it is drawing about 4.6v and 2.5 amp - did not expect it to be that high on the amperage.
Link to the meter you're using? I considered getting one but after seeing several reviews saying they smoked the meter with a high amp draw USB device I figured these stick would do the same to them. No doubt these are ragged edge USB power consumption with the speed turned up. I've yet to have success with any hub supporting more than 2 of them at 954mhz. |

I'm running ten ML2 on Sipolar A400. Prefer Antminer L3+ but too loud to use at home or work. Don't they make mufflers for these things or something super quiet?
Will it run 10 at 954mhz? The highest freq I have got to work was 900Mhz but run at 876Mhz for best hash less HW errrors. You will need lots of current for 10 @ 954Mhz maybe 150w source power supply feeding the hub. Definitely. Each pair of mine on Anker hubs is pulling 30W at the wall. I currently have 6 sticks on 3 hubs and 4 more sticks pre ordered. It would be nice to have a single hub that can run them all at full speed, but it's not looking like such a hub exists. |

Has / can anyone here share some accurate readings of current draw (with stock voltage settings) of these moonlanders. I have a pluggable 7 port USB 3.0 hub, this one: https://plugable.com/products/usb3-hub7bcIt has a 60W power supply. I have 5x moonlanders connected to it running at 756 clock speed and it has a reading (at the main socket for the hub alone) of 53.08W which seems wayyy to high. 30W at the wall here for 2 sticks at 954mhz on an Anker hub. Core voltage turned up of course. |

 Am I getting errors? If so why? I've not done anything to the stick. No mods or anything. . Does it look alright to you guys? Yes. Try running just one at a time and see if it still does it. |

so far i've got the three running at a solid 4.30mh/s each with an avarage of A:1600 and R:5 HW:550/.55% with clock speed at 756 within a 12 hour time frame just close to stock settings. I would think I would be able to max them out since the hub claims it can support the voltage and amps.we shall see in the future.
Thanks, will be interested to see how higher speeds work out. If the accuracy of those cheap meters like Fenboy is using can be trusted, him seeing nearly 2A at 796mhz, it's no wonder so many hubs won't cut it at higher speeds. I have 6 running really well now with external cooling at 954mhz, but I have to put 2 each on 3 Anker hubs to power them. Would be nice to get down to one hub. |

alright my miner dudes. so I think(fingers crossed) that I finally have a pretty good starting set-up going. so here is my three moonlander 2s running on this usb hub that i bought. it was slightly pricey but i didn't mind as its small but yet very powerful. http://www.usbgear.com/10PCHGRHUBMINI.htmlunfortunately I can only fit up to 6 miners with fans, but definitely can fit 10 without the fans.. How fast can you run them on that hub? |

I've checked on a USB meter and it's taking 1.5A per Moonlander.
So a 5A hub should be fine for 3 landers....
I'm testing with only 2 in the hub, and have had 1 dropout so far.

Hi,
I have 3 MoonLander 2s and I think they are great!
But, I'm having problems mining Verge, the landers run fine for an hour or so, then 1 will stop hashing.
The red LED stops firing and the pool hash rate drops.
In BFGMiner it shows as have "Mh/s" but no accepts on that lander.
I've dropped the frequency to 600MHz but it is still happening.
It's not always the same lander.
If I stop and restart BFGminer all is well again for a while.
I'm running Windows Server 2012, with an Anker USB3 hub, 5A PSU.
I've tried other coins, and whilst not perfect they didn't drop out as much as Verge.
Any thoughts?

Different ones randomly stopping is quite possibly power. I'd try running only 2 and see if that improves. |

And supports the right amount of power per port Not sure why you compare a PC to a usb hub, sure you could get a cheap PC for the price of a usb hub, but you are still left with about 2-3 USB ports and if you plan on running 3 miners on a PC you most likely won’t be able to fit them side-by-side or have enough power to keep three running on a cheap PC. How many are going to actually fit? 6? I've been using a $40 Anker hub that ran 2 sticks at 954mhz flawlessly, but is limited to 900mhz with 3 on it. Expecting a second one today to get my other 3 sticks going. OK, not as clean as one unit, but significant cost difference, plus I've not seen anyone say how many sticks they can run on that hub you linked to and at what speed. If the ports are actually limited to 2.1A that may not be enough to crank the speed up. |

No luck with the Anker 10 port. It ran 2 sticks flawlessly at 954mhz, but it can't do 3 at that speed, 900mhz is the best I can get out of it. Slower speeds it will run more, but that's not what I am looking for.

The Plugable 60W hub is less than half the price and works great with these sticks.
I sent mine back, wouldn't even run 2 of them at high frequencies, I am not the only one who has been displeased with it. The Anker BTW is the same price as the Plugable from Amazon, have been able to run 2 with zero issues even at 954mhz. Tomorrow I will have 4 more sticks to test with it. |

I'd just say that your hub there that you say supports 4 sticks, didn't even support 2 at decent speeds for me. Wouldn't recommend. |

Hey guys..I got a couple questions here..so I am currently running MACOS high Sierra, and apon following the walk around to download the driver, everything works great!(thanks to the team to tackle that obstacle) so my miner was currently running at stock core and memory voltages, 756mhz, 4.04/4.17/4.28h A:1362 R:3 hw 50/.14% (estimated numbers from my last run in a 4:45 hour timeframe) Question 1. Do those numbers look acceptable to you guys? It doesn’t seem bad to me but I want to shoot for the 5-5.5 mh/s so I might jump into tuning slightly today. Question 2. So my miner was running one night for 16 hours straight(unfortunately don’t have numbers from that) then it randomly stopped hashing and basically went dormant..*Is this normal? I want it to get to a point where I can set it, and forget it, maybe check on it a couple times a day but not babysit and worry about it stopping. Question 3. Is there an update for the driver so when I go to install the new one(as of 12/14/17) I have to do the walk around again just to update? Question 4. So every time I open “run moonlander 2” terminal(for Mac) I constantly have three pools showing but only one of them is the one I’m actually using, and every time I go and delete the other unneeded ones they keep constantly showing back up even after I close/save session and start the program back up again. Any reason for this?? Thanks everyone!! To get the speed you're wanting you're going to be at 900mhz or more and need external cooling. What driver did you use? There was new binary release yesterday that addressed restarts. |

Hi,
I'm using a RPi with ML2 and bfgminer 5.4.2-7. I can see /dev/ttyUSB0 but when I start bfgminer it says "NO DEVICES FOUND". I have pressed M+ to add to no avail. Any pointers on where to look?

Version 5.4.2-7, well where did you get that? That's not the version number that has moonlander 2 support. |
