1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Publish0x - The next Steemit? on: April 15, 2019, 09:19:54 PM
The curation rewards aren't great, but then again, you don't have to put anything into it other than a minor time investment.  I did receive my token payout too.

Someone stop the madman!   It's pretty funny to watch a billionaire in Honey Badger mode, I mean just look at the reverberations from his Rogan interview.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Crypto now? on: March 23, 2019, 03:55:38 AM
I've trimmed down my holdings to primarily BTC, ETH, LTC, with a bit of Steem, Tron, and KMD.  I will gamble and mix it up a tiny bit in the short term with risky/junk coins, but I'm looking for a bit more stability for the majority of my holdings.  KMD having a dead simple very low holding requirement dividend was a selling point there too.

Being involved in dApps, either through building or using them, will help crypto stay strong.  Gaming will play a big role, just like it did back in the day for driving PC development.  Only now, you have the chance to get paid for your time and *truely* own your virtual items.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Gaming and It's Future on: March 22, 2019, 07:32:45 PM
I would highly recommend Steem Monsters - it's a card battle game (so obviously ptw plays a significant part) but there are three pretty huge aspects to it which keep things interesting/reasonably fair:

1) Power caps depending on the league or tournament you are in.  Lots of free tournies.
2) For each battle, you choose not only your cards but where they are placed in the 6 creature slots/1 summoner slot.
3) A changing battlefield:  for every battle there are random conditions applied.  There is a variable point cap (each card costs X points to deploy) and special rules, ie, no ranged units, no legendary or epic cards, no special rules this battle, etc.  Shards (card monster categories, life, death, nature, etc) are random too, sometimes you can use any mostly there will be some not available.

Oh, and toss in some RNG combat effects too.  Unless special rules apply, melee and ranged attacks have a chance to miss based on the speed of your monster or if they have special abilities like flying or dodge.  Cards level up by combining cards of the same monster.  You get a daily reward quest that gives you cards based on the current league you are in and every two weeks you get season rewards based on your highest achieved league.

I don't want this to become a TLDR post, so i will leave it at that.  Check it out if you have any interest in blockchain gaming, I think it is easily top tier.  I purposely didn't include my ref link to reduce the shill factor.  Also There are thousands of cards on the market so you can buy just what you want vs opening packs.  Since it's on Steem your transactions use your rechargeable mana/resource credits, no coin fee.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a temp plateau. I was thinking about 8k-10k range.
I don't think it will dip below 10k, but it may be a bouncy ride back to 15k.  At that point I think it will be in a holding pattern around there for a few weeks.  I think most of the scared money got shaken out and the long termers are going to drive the price back up.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TOP 100 RICHEST BITCOIN WALLET ADDRESSES on: December 22, 2017, 08:17:44 PM
Some very interesting stats here including several billionaires, plenty of multi-millionaires and some surprises such as several wallets which had a single transaction of thousands of bitcoins in 2011 but those wallets were never really used again some in 2016/17 and some dating back to 2011.

The largest amount is held in a Bitfinex Cold Storage Wallet containing 145,046 BTC ($1,991,736,809 USD)

#2 on the list: Wallet Address 16rCmCmbuWDhPjWTrpQGaU3EPdZF7MTdUk containing 119,203 BTC ($1,636,867,677 USD)

Did not assume that the Bitfinex is so large a stock exchange. 2 billion is a lot
Yeah that is insane.  Can you imagine the procedures and redundancy they must have for protecting that key from disasters, theft, etc?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 on: December 22, 2017, 07:00:30 PM
The futures markets may have caused some issues for us in the short term, but long term I think will provide some stability to the coin.  Provided the transaction fee issue is addressed I'm pretty bullish for BTC in 2018.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possible reasons that Bitcoin will be gone on: December 22, 2017, 06:44:43 PM
As mentioned a concerted effort by many of the major governments could drastically crash the price.  I don't think this is likely to happen all at the same time though so in theory one would have time to exit with at least something.  The next year or two is going to be key in terms of to what degree various governments will regulate or even ban crypto.

At the very least places like the USA are going to have a microscope up the rear of every coin holder.  They won't be able to track the anon currencies but any holders will have a tough time exchanging them and the penalties for non-disclosure will keep the normies in line.  A smart investor will need to keep his finger up to see which way the wind is blowing.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future is crypto currency on: December 22, 2017, 06:30:39 PM
Crypto is the future and so are AI managed funds.  Pretty soon all markets will be dominated by automatic trading.  At that point it doesn't matter if granny hates crypto, she will put her money in whatever fund is giving the best return.  It will be a blackbox to her and she won't care about its workings, only the money that comes out.

So the Luddites will come into the fold as well.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: WHAT`S THE PANIC? on: December 22, 2017, 03:51:16 PM
It was a just a correction, but you have a bunch of new clueless skittish investors.  Couple that with the media that loves drama (Bitcoin down 10% off high, Bitcoin 20% off after futures trading, blah blah) and the fiat and Establishment shills going to work.  This strikes fear into the heart of your standard investor who starts drinking and playing dust in the wind if a stock drops 5% in a day.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think BTC will above 20k start of 2018? on: December 22, 2017, 03:33:05 PM
I think it will rally from where it is at currently and bounce between say 14-15.5 for the next few weeks.  Very low chance it is above 20k when we hit 2018.
13  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ShapeShift.io Scam? on: December 21, 2017, 05:53:03 AM
Before you send Eth (or whatever coin) check the pending transactions and what the current gas price is.  I've made the same mistake and sent to a precise Shapeshift trade, think I was using like 4.1 gwei/21k when the average was like 30.  Ooops.  Needless to say it didn't make it in 5 minutes before the time out.  They did refund my transaction, minus fees.

I've never had a transaction 'lost' with them, just keep in mind that if you aren't doing a precise transaction the market is moving while your coins are in route.  You may not want to be 8 hours late to the party so to speak.

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: McDonalds to accept Bitcoin by 2018 on: December 21, 2017, 03:10:32 AM
This is good news. But the additional fees should be minimal so that it will still be affordable.
Eventually it will be.  BTC will have to something about the transaction fees, but after that point it should be golden.  At first paying with it will be a bit more expensive because they will capitalize on the fad, but that will quickly shift as people demand closer parity with fiat payments.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop talking, start acting: let us all fight again BCC right now! on: December 21, 2017, 03:02:04 AM
I'm holding some BCH because why not?  It has a ton of 'press' and hype and has been rocketing.  I would so the same with pretty much any coin.  At some point I will probably sell down to 25% of my current BCH and that conversion will be to BTC.  BTC is the backbone - I'm not abandoning it, but I will shift my funds to where they can get a quick return.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon to accept Bitcoin? on: December 20, 2017, 05:45:40 PM
Please Please  Smiley  This would be amazing for all crypto though of course there are huge issues with BTC fees at the moment.  AmazonDoge FTW!
18  Economy / Exchanges / Re: C-CEX.com Trusted, Secure & Friendly Exchange Since 2013. 200+ Alts,USD,Low Fees on: December 20, 2017, 04:32:49 PM
I don't know if they come back. Leaving the site broken without any kind of support gives a bad feeling to me. They announced their holidays on 14th december, just a week ago when the server started being totally unstable. They never wrote anything about these issues and everytime we opened a ticket just answered with generic solutions. They didn't mention at all about server problems. In my opinion something strange happened, maybe when they return on 20th everything will be fine, but they didn't mention at all about continous maintanance. Now it's impossible to trade anything and who know what will happen.
I would say there is a pretty low probability of them returning to normal operations.  Slightly higher that they make everyone whole.  Seriously who is going to take a month off with a useless exchange when cryptos are booming?  Something is rotten in the state of C-cex.

Thankfully I pulled off my last few coins when the site started being in 'brief maintenance' 1/2 of every day.  I wish everyone the best of luck getting what they are owed.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will people lose intrest? on: December 18, 2017, 11:10:32 PM
Only a small percentage of people who hold BTC do so for ideological reasons the vast majority do so because it has or they believe it will make them money.  As long as people think it is worthy of investment from a financial perspective they will be interested.
