I am very interested in Ripple's vision, technologies, partnerships... and also in XRP.
From a speculation point of view, current price is $0.24 and on the 100B existing XRP, 39B are in circulation, 55B are locked in escrow and 6B owned by Ripple.
Market cap in circulation is $9.36B as stated by most platforms. However Ripple claims a market cap of $24B, i.e. considers total volume.
To be compared to bitcoin: current price $14k, max volume being 21M BTC, market cap is $244B in circulation and $294B in total.
My thought is:
The 55B XRP locked in the escrow and released during 55+ months (as rest is reinjected) will give confidence in XRP future and hence may increase its price.
However, as the current price is fixed by actual supply and demand, even if demand gets higher and higher, injecting 1B XRP in circulation every month should make the price drop.
If banks and institutions largely adopt XRP, we might see an increase but not before the escrow is fully released, in several years.
