1  Economy / Services / Re: [HIRING] Development of Bitcoin Marketplace w/ Escrow on: August 05, 2013, 09:14:42 AM
Got a few interesting proposals in already, which I'm in the process of reviewing.
I'll be deciding on a developer in the next few days, so if anyone else would like to apply, please do so now.
2  Economy / Services / [HIRING] Development of Bitcoin Marketplace w/ Escrow on: August 03, 2013, 09:05:32 PM
I run a niche multi-vendor auction/marketplace site, but I'm intent on introducing Bitcoin as a means of payment between buyer and seller, however I doubt many buyers would take up that option without an escrow service.

(Examples of sites currently running this set-up would be bitmit.net, coingig.com etc.
Some relevant code may be available here https://github.com/kangasbros/django-bitcoin )

This job would either entail integrating a Bitcoin escrow with an existing multi-vendor marketplace software (PHPProBid or WeBid) or creating one from scratch.

Specifications for Bitcoin Integration on a Marketplace.
1) Users and sellers will have a bitcoin address generated upon sign up or can add a pre-existing one.
2) The site automatically collects a commission on vendor listings when a transaction is completed (BUYER -> ESCROW(me) -> SELLER)
3) Customers can place a transaction into dispute-resolution if they don't receive their product, where I can decide who should recieve the payment.
4) I would like to set a 30-day auto finalize on the escrow payment if the customer doesn't log back in to finalize the order after receiving their product.

PM me if you'd like to bid for this project, or reply here if you'd like more details.
Cheers!

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Implementing BTC Escrow on a Marketplace on: July 28, 2013, 10:47:45 PM
Hi fellow Noobie inhabitants!

I'm looking for a ballpark estimation here.

I run a niche multi-vendor auction/marketplace site, but I'm intent on introducing Bitcoin as a means of payment between buyer and seller, however I doubt many buyers would take up that option without an escrow service.

(an example of a site currently running this set-up would be bitmit.net. Some relevant code may be available here https://github.com/kangasbros/django-bitcoin )
I posted a job request on Odesk regarding this, but most of the applicants seemed to think BTC was essentially a Paypal alternative.  Grin

My question is how much do you guys reckon it would cost, roughly, to hire a developer to implement such a solution?

Cheers!
