2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / AMD overlock on: January 19, 2018, 03:08:35 AM
Hi!

Trying to overclock my AMD card which is mixed with Nvidia cards.   Im able to OC / set fan via nvidia-smi  and my research thus far has show I need to echo entries into files which sadly do not exist on my system.

The only AMDI files I installed were the blockchain Ubuntu drivers.

lspci shows it's card 5 in the system.

I do not have any files which start with P or a folder of hwinfo. below is my command output

Code:
user@miner02:/sys/class/drm/card5/device$ ls
boot_vga              consistent_dma_mask_bits  driver           firmware_node  i2c-39  irq            msi_bus    rescan     resource1_wc  revision          subsystem_vendor

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bittrex Support is out of order! on: January 10, 2018, 12:35:22 AM
I like you also have a support ticket open but for other reasons.   honestly it is what it is when the market is as crazy as it is these days and almost all exchanges are 24+ hours out from a response.

keep faith. remain calm and positive.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ZEC Trading down? on: January 06, 2018, 01:42:20 AM
each support team I have asked has not responded.  I can only assume something happened with the Linux wallet.  does anyone run one?

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Etherum Windows Wallet and Geth on: December 13, 2017, 02:47:13 AM
Hi All,

Please correct me if I'm wrong but geth is the CPU mining app / part of the wallet.  After the wallet synced, im showing HIGH (as in 100% usage) CPU usage.  The process that appears to be running away is Geth.

How can I disable / ensure I'm not CPU mining when running the wallet?

I have tried --minerthreads=0 and so far that appears to be when it comes to CPU usage but Geth is still using a lot of disk IO.

Thanks!

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptonight claymore10.2 versus xmr-stak-amd on: December 11, 2017, 11:41:05 PM

Claymore on the other hand is faster, in average 100 h per gpu. But it is far from stable, rigs with same settings can reboot every 2 minutes or so.

I use MSI to change & control my GPU settings and get Claymore do only the mining.  I also issue -tt 0 so it will not monitor the cards at all (for I had issue with GPU monitor thread hang).  with those settings im able to have my rigs run for weeks without issue.   Most of my downtime is user created for I wanna mess with something.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: December 11, 2017, 11:34:56 PM

Thanks in advance.

11  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Is there any harm running Bitmain Antminer(s) laying on its side? on: December 11, 2017, 07:18:26 PM
no issues doing so.  either your modem of your pool's servers will turn the blocks right side up for free.
12  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer/Antpool mirai virus detected on: December 11, 2017, 07:07:35 PM
sounds like the traffic matched a pattern on there network which triggered the alert.   if your scanned your PC's with several apps than your OK and chalk it up to internet pattern match verse actual infection.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / that darn 6th GPU on: December 10, 2017, 02:56:22 PM
Hi All,

Running windows 10x64 and trying to get the 6th GPU up and running.

GPUS (GTX 1060's 3gb) 2-5 are connected to a Corsair RM100x 1000w power supply - two per Channel.
GPU1 and Mobo are connected to a Corsiar 430 power supply

GPU 1 & 6 are on the mother board

GPU 2-5 are connected to PIC slot two on the MoBO using a PCI break out board (one slot to 4 ports).  Those GPU's are also connected to a PCI risers.

My Issue.
either a card drops off the channel (MSI reports X card had dropped off) or I get a blue screen WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

I'm thinking I have a power issue..  but I struggle with how I have one when I have so much power on this rig..

Suggestions?
