1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Disable windows 10 update on: January 06, 2018, 03:39:42 PM
I'm trying to disable windows 10 updates.  I've disabled and stopped the service, but this doesn't stick.

I've read also you can use gpedit and go to Administrative Templates, however when I go to gpedit under Computer Configuration, there is no Administrative Templates, only Software Settings and Windows Settings.

Could anyone recommend a solid way to do this?

I have the H81 pro btc motherboard and there are two molex connectors for pci power.  Since the risers are powered, is it necessary to have these plugged in?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / open air rig fan direction on: January 03, 2018, 03:18:54 AM
I have cases similar to this one:

I've seen similar setups with fan direction varying.  I've heard you want to have the fans suck the hot air out, but I've heard the opposite as well.  I think both make sense, the end of the GPU's have heatsinks so it seems it would make sense to blow air into them? also considering it's "open air", perhaps the heat will dissipate on it's own?  But at same time, maybe it's more helpful to be pulling the hot air directly away from the GPU's?  I'm not sure.

Could someone recommend the ideal fan direction for this?  Thanks!
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / MSI Afterburner not allowing to change clock speeds on: December 25, 2017, 08:52:31 PM
I have the latest MSI Afterburner and Radeon drivers 17.12.1.   In Afterburner, I can't seem to change any of the clock settings.  I'm not sure if this is a driver issue or something else i'm doing? Thanks
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dual mining with different mining software on: December 16, 2017, 02:49:13 AM
I know with claymore you can run eth + decred or sia, but what if I wanted to mine eth + monero for example or eth + anything not supported by claymore.  Is there any reason you can't run eth on claymore by itself and then run a different miner at the same time?

I don't think you understand how dual mining on claymore works.

I will try to explain, claymore main principle is ETHASH algo based as PRIMARY and LBRY, PASC/PASL, DECRED (probably the 1st coin on dual mining), SIA as secondary coin.

It is programmed in such a way where you can't use any other above non listed algos.

Hope it makes sense, if not please let me know, i can elaborate.

Thanks.

Right, I understand if it's not supported by claymore, you can't run it.  What I mean is if you use a different miner, so effectively running two different mining softwares at the same time.
