1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [10000GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: September 16, 2013, 02:28:17 AM
Yep, my node is down at the moment due to a popped PSU.  It'll be back up in the next few days, and I'll have a couple of Blades connecting to it - along with what I'm already running, that should be ~30GH/s coming back to p2pool.
How are you running your blades on p2pool?  I was using bfgminer as a getwork proxy and over 30% of the shares where rejected.  What share reject rates are you getting?

you dont need to use proxy with blades and p2pool.. just point the blade directly at p2pool as you would any other miner... note that you will get about ~3GH stale/doa with the old blades running at 12-13GH, so your only getting a real 10GH.. not sure how the new blades run... also dont forget to append a '+1' to the end of your username on the blades when connecting to p2pool.. since they only know diff1, this will stop the annoying submit > target messages in the p2pool console output...

3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter Blade (New Model)]Low Price, Limited Quantity on: September 07, 2013, 09:22:02 AM
These new Blades - they support LP/work restart? So they can work with p2pool?

The old ones work with p2pool, so why wouldn't the new ones?  Huh
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=283458.msg3077867#msg3077867
Seems the new ones are effectively no real difference to the old ones ... except limited to a lower speed ... i.e. still only GetWork

I would almost rather have the old blades then, I do like the backplane on the new ones though!

has the mining software been updated so that the blades know how to handle work other than diff1? with the old blades you have to append a '+1' to the end of the username on the blade web interface which forces p2pool to always give the blade diff1 work and stops all the p2pool console warning/errors barking about worker submitting share > target.

has there been any changes to the web interface at all? (options for when installed via back plane, etc)

I'm trying to use ASICMiner erupter blade, which only supports getwork with p2pool. I can't get it to work.

When I have the blade connected directly to p2pool, I see lot's of
Worker <name> submitted share with hash > target:" in my P2Pool logs

So I setup a stratum proxy which work fine with 50btc.com but when I use it with the p2pool, the blades get no work. It sit's ideal.

What am I missing? Are there any specific version's that should be using?

this is a normal message when using blades. what you want to do is add: +1 to the end of your username on the blade web interface. this will force p2pool to always give the blade diff1 work, since it only knows diff 1 anyways. this will stop those log messages. you might see one or two here or there..... also the blades dont seem to work with p2pool via stratum mining proxy.

3 orico 10 port and 2 aitech 10 port all running with 9+fan solid over 3 days now....

6  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN]Group Buy#9 ASICMINER Erupter USB Miner 0.31 BTC Or Less USA/INTERNATIONAL on: August 24, 2013, 03:01:11 AM
might as well chime in too as it seems lots of people got their BE's today.. as did i =]

now i just need that last hub i ordered to get delivered so i can mine the remaining BE's sitting on my desk!
7  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [7000GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: August 16, 2013, 04:42:52 AM
so i convinced my brother to write a python script that will send an email (or an sms/mms if your provider has a gateway ex: 5551234567@vzwpix.com (verizon)) when you get a share and/or when a block is found. the message will tell you if its a share or a block, and also put in the current payout when either is found.

you can find it here:

http://gist.github.com/dreness/6247320

if you like it and feel like donating a buck or two, send to the address in my sig and i will give him the cash personally.

cheers!!

FYI the orico 10 port and the aitech 10 port are identical in every way... the only difference is they stamped a different name on it... i have successfully mined with all 10 ports filled for over a 48 hour period with no problems on both the orico and the aitech. i am mining with 9 in each one now as i have a fan plugged into the 10th port.

so the black orico 10 port usb 3 hubs from the aliexpress website seem to be arriving with 3A power cords instead of 4A as listed on their product description. but i ordered on july 30th and it arrived today from hong kong.. so thats pretty fast... i bought 2, and have 9 BE's in each one running fine so far...

do you have a link to the one you purchased? i may want to give one a try

Link 2 in the OP table. DopeLabs, the white one is actually cheaper.
Don't know if I should update the table with 3A info. Was it a delivery error or they consistently supply lower-powered AC adapters? Anyone else with Orico experience?

the RPi uses 5 watts of power and compared to even an efficient laptop it's half the power.
they're not expensive and easy to setup, I used this guide to get me up and running...  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=251675.0

Out of curiosity, what is the best place to buy Raspberries?
I found one here for $43:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Raspberry-Pi-2-0-Model-B-512MB-Version-Element-14-Linux-System-Board-/290946215548?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43bdbeee7c

Is it a good buy?

i ordered a white one from the amazon website and it came with the proper 4A power cord... mining 9 on the 3A, and 10 on the 4A, been fine for the last 24 hours.

12  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: A guide for mining efficiently on P2Pool, includes FUD repellent and FAQ on: August 04, 2013, 12:27:31 PM
so on the wiki it states that setting the username with an appended '+1" will make P2Pool always give your miners work with a difficulty of 1...

will this have any negative effect?
13  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: A guide for mining efficiently on P2Pool, includes FUD repellent and FAQ on: August 04, 2013, 11:05:39 AM
ive tried using the stratum proxy but for some reason when i have it connected to p2pool the AM Blade just doesnt connect and start hashing... it works on btcguild... but not p2pool for some reason...

I also have 20 USB Block Eruptors on the way, but for now, this is what i have running at work (free power!)
There have been stories of people being sacked for using work computers to mine. Isn't your job worth more to you than some bitcoins?

i do GPU performance and scalability testing.... so it fits =]

Known bugs/issues

Q: Why do I get lots of "Worker <name> submitted share with hash > target:" in my P2Pool logs? It seems to put a large CPU load on P2Pool.
A: If you use cgminer, scrypt and stratum, this is because cgminer and p2pool disagree on how to represent difficulty targets on stratum. p2pool seems to use a sane definition of target difficulty, unfortunately most other pools didn't establishing a de-facto standard that cgminer follows. Current solution: use the "--fix-protocol" parameter of cgminer. It will force it to use getwork (instead of stratum) where both agree on how to communicate difficulty targets.

one of my miners is an ASICMiner Eruptor Blade, which i believe uses getwork, but i am still seeing the hash > target msgs on the cli fly by...

any idea as to why it would still be doing this considering its using getwork? and is there anything that can be done to fix?
16  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: July 31, 2013, 08:35:43 PM
the s10000 has dual GPU's, which do about 450/500MH/s each... so its about 900M-1GH/sec.

EDIT: yes xeons =]

not sure about .1 but i just purchased 20 @.6 from btcguild just waiting for them to come in the mail. i also ordered 2 10 port USB hubs that will support all 10 ports with erupters in them... this going along with my current 2 mining machines that im running at work should work out nicely.
