Looks like make exited with the error you described above. Try installing the Berkeley database libraries for C++ and run the script again.

You might want to try to remove files poolstate.bin and p2pstate.bin from the bitmonero folder.
Try syncing again when you have deleted those files. Do not delete your wallet or keys file!

Just like people have stated before - try typing refresh in the wallet.

Download a new blockchain (link in OP) and try again. Worked for me.

Edit: Did not. It seems to be a network issue like MisO69 said.

Just wanted to add that I didn't see the correct balance until I ran refresh from the wallet.

I am not in favour of merged mining.
