1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LEAFCOIN - NEW UPDATE AVAILABLE - DIGISHIELD + FLATREWARDS + CHECKPOINTS + MERGE on: August 14, 2014, 01:53:19 PM
Any peers still active on this? I just freshly compiled leafcoind, but for some weird reason it's not creating debug.log. Seems to be running, by dumping the interface I can see it attempting to connect to peers, but it's not writing to debug.log for some reason.

I used

addnode=23.226.69.146
addnode=172.245.137.35

in leafcoin.conf and syncing works just fine.

Question about lill.com. Is it possible to register anonymously and just enter eg. a username+karma address? One of the things I like about duckduckgo is that it doesn't track my searches, and the reason I switched from using Google. I don't doubt that lill.com is just as good in search, but I really dislike that I have to do full registration to be able to use the karmacoin advantage. Registering with facebook+twitter is even worse, imho. Anyway, this is not to start a flamewar, I'm just asking if it's possible and if the creators would be interested in implementing this. If so, I'd gladly switch to it.

@Tyke:

Please remove coinmarket references, or better, make a distinct reference that this site was a scam site that ended up stealing many people's alt and bitcoins. It has stopped being relevant and should not be listed as active.

hi mcg
yes, I am still here but I don't hold my leaf bag any longer. Too many promises, too many talking "it will be done, it will be announced" and too less talking "this is it, this is what's done".

Cheers

That's one way to put it, OTOH, I find it a great time to buy. Prices go up and down all the time. When you have a commited developer things can't go bad. I've already bought ~100M at these prices, and will likely buy more. I may lose it all, or I may win.

you are wrong. check leaf price history and you will notice it went down only all the time ...

No, I'm not, but I'm not going to argue, I've followed leaf since day 1. I'll think I'll just stick around and see what the future holds, feel free not to.

Another 350 withdrawal requests (in pending status) are waiting to get processed today. Attempting to credit all stuck deposits right now.[/size]

What about the confirmed but never sent and no TxID RDDs (due to wrong fork)?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LEAFCOIN on: March 24, 2014, 05:27:11 PM
Guys, I understand your points.... but on the other hand the rules are clearly saying this. On the deposit page it is written again the same thing, so it is very very clear. Not to talk about, how do I know when someone messes up, or just sends a donation? I had another LEAF thread and people actually sent donations of a lot higher value (confirmed one)... but how can I confirm each one? Tell the truth I don't even intend to: this system is running now 100% AUTOMATED... I do absolutely NOTHING with it.

On the other hand, what will people say if rules are rules only for some, and not for others? If I return that 75k, and some other person will add the guarantee fund and will see that 75K is missing from it? Or should I hide the transaction too which was used to deposit it? If I do that, then why I just don't hide some of the transactions, or start making "random" payouts for example, as some of these systems does? They don't care about the order people made their deposits...

The thing I am trying to achieve here is to have the first Ponzi with clear rules, fully automated, trustable. If I start to break my own rules, what remains of that? It will be exactly just like all the other arbitrary sites, and that is not why I have worked a lot to try to make it a different site and when everything is done, I don't want to choose which rules we are following and which one not.

Sorry for your loss, but I hope you understand the world from my perspective too. I hope you also understand it is not about the 0.0022 BTC, because if I would like to cheat then I wouldn't pay out the 200% last deposit which is 0.061 BTC (30 times more almost)... which I will of course if that remains the last deposit.

Here's another idea. Forego the idea of a mininum, so one could just send 1 LEAF/DOGE or whatever and expect something back. Only keep donations when someone sends above a maximum. Of course that might mean that the guarrantee fund might take more to fill, but so what.

Thanks for the update, about time.

What about the RDD confirmed withdrawls on the wrong fork? I have 2M "confirmed" in the withdrawal history log.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 17, 2014, 12:11:58 PM
It's not just the BTC that's the problem, I have 2M reddcoins which are stuck but confirmed (they used the wrong fork). Actual value is not that much, just sth less than 0.2 BTC, however, if I was one of the BTC owners that lost a significant amount I'd definitely call the authorities in Norway to take action against this Bjorke guy and the coinmarket.io guys even if he's not himself the guilty one, he's withholding information about the real owners, which is in eachself a crime. And to anyone that doesn't think there is a case, because BTC is not considered a currency but a commodity, IANAL but stealing commodities is also illegal pretty much everywhere. And the involved amount actually translates to real money directly so it's a very strong case that would really stand in courts. I'm really amazed at the people who have lost more and are still waiting from a reassurance by the devs and to get their btc back. Even if it's not a scam, even if it's not done on purpose, it's *your* BTC, you have *every* right to demand it back *now*. Not doing anything just makes whomever has all those BTC now think even safer. Who knows, eventually he'll try to cash on those BTCs and maybe even be in some tropical island having fun with your money.

I'd suggest to whomever lost the most to initiate an actual complaint to the police, preferably one in the same country. No, I'm not going to do it, because I lost too little and for me the expense would be completely outweighed by the amount of RDDs lost. If for some reason RDD goes 100x in the next week (and from 0.2 BTC, I'd lose 20 BTC) then yes, I'd probably do it, but not now.

My 2 cents.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KARM] Karmacoin - Phase II is here! *3-9-14* New Branding, Sites & More on: March 14, 2014, 09:57:27 PM
Like I said, I'm doing everything I can to promote it.  Spreading the word, making donations, setting up bounties, etc...

But none of that answers my question from my previous post.....can anyone give me one example of a pathway that gets us out of this hole right now? What's a conceivable and realistic path that we can take to get from 9 litoshis to 50 satoshis? Is such a thing even possible?

Yes, create an Android/iOS game that is a flappybird-killer that uses karmacoin/anycoin as its ingame currency -or any other game for that matter, see Eve's ISK- and you'll see it flying to the roof, not just 50 satoshis. You asked if it's possible, and it is. Easy? No, it isn't.

So then your answer is no then...as I stated "a realistic path".....basically my main concern is "how do we get volume back to the BTC market with those huge walls now that we've been demoted to the LTC market?" I think when you're in the BTC market anything can happen..but below 1 Satoshi I'm trying to foresee an angle where we can make this happen....any ideas? (I know we're stepping up the branding and promotion and I think it's definitely going to increase the awareness but I'm trying to foresee the economics behind a rise to 50+ satoshis..)

I didn't say that. And that path is a realistic path, it's not impossible, and it's not that hard, but someone has to do the work. You can't really expect this to happen on its own. At the very least, one could just get a simple game, it doesn't have to be a flappybird/angrybirds-killer, just some semi-popular game. Give the developer some money + percentage of sales in karma coins and let him integrate karmacoin payments, and let things take their path.

Now site is back up and withdrawing works like a charm, so clearly the problems at coinmarket are not scamm but just pure amateurism in how to run a business.

I don't know if it's a scam, but it definitely doesn't work like a charm. I got 2M Reddcoins there which I tried to withdraw, got a confirmation etc, but then they said they were on a forked chain so had to process withdrawals manually. Till now I'm still waiting for a newer comment on that.

PS. coinmarket admins, if you're reading this, same username, 2M RDD stuck, please do something or at least let me know if I should just forget them.

lost 2M here. It's really sad.
really i got mine out a few days ago

I tried to, but they were on a fork and withdrawal seemed stuck (while confirmed). Never got those, and since it's apparent the site is a scam -or they are really idiots- I've pretty much kissed those 2M goodbye.

price is no indicator for a coin being dead or not.

Exactly. What I fail to understand with all those anxious people is the persistence with price.
Ok then, suppose price goes up maybe even to 50 for a while, and you sell and make a profit. What then? Will that make you rich so that you will live without having to work for the rest of your lives?
Do you actually believe that?
Even with 100M leafs and the price at 50 satoshis, that will make you what, 50 bitcoins, so what? Even assuming you find a way to easily convert that to $/€/whatever, and not getting arrested for money laundering with current btc price that's *just* ~45k€. Sure, it will probably get you to pay some of your loans, maybe even buy you a decent car, but if you're in it for a one-off profit, you're in the wrong market. And it still is not sustainable. You can't do this or expect to do this with every coin, every time. Some people that already have hundreds/millions of $, already do this, but they can already manipulate the market to their needs and don't just wait for a price to go up, they make it go up. The only way for a coin to actually become successful, is for it to be embraced by developers and actually be used as currency (as I already said in a previous post). Price going up is just a sideeffect of that.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LEAF] LEAFCOIN - Early version foundation launched on: March 08, 2014, 09:36:14 AM
I for one am totally against dropping coins and going just for the quick profit. I am completely tired of all the "themed" coins, be it a fancy meme (doge, flap, etc) or some stupid ideology that noone not even their owners care about. I like leaf because it has a tangible goal (can it actualy help towards a noble goal and save even a couple of trees somewhere? yes it can. will it? we'll see). Apart from that the only reason of existence for a coin -apart from its makers becoming rich- is to be used as currency, right now only bitcoin, litecoin, dogecoin (shopdoge.com is really cool), and to a lesser extent leafcoin (I saw one cool site with water taps, sadly for .nl only, but it's a start) can actually be used for something useful. Instead of going for the quick profit in an exchange, give value to the coin by enabling it to be used as currency. The value will come afterwards and you can be sure that your leaf millions will be worth something. Till that, it's completely idiotic to consider a coin dead after a month because it didn't "go to the moon" and made you rich in a week. Grow up.

Clicked on the confirmation URL to withdraw 2M Reddcoins and it said there was a problem with that, but then in the Withdrawal history it lists that as confirmed (I certainly have not received my 2M coins though).

Could you please take a look at this? Account name same as here. Thanks.

why do you allow to advertise a system which looks like a scam in this thread ?

Well, right now the balance plus the guarantee fund is a lot more than the payouts needs to be done... so why would you say that it is a scam?

As said multiple times -and in private just as it happend-, the broken 1M deposit is mine and I'd like it back, I'd be willing to donate 200k however, as I think it's a good idea still, so you can just send me 800k back. So if you please, the address is at my sig. Oh and the 1.1M sent afterwards is also mine,

http://explorer.leafco.in/tx/864f4861e216f905f62d8c4d1bae4441baa968922b0db90e100575a4c3ee4ba5

(originating from faVBZwUhnA6RTSuATgH7BXXX5S64u9eFgV)

Could you please fix that as well? It lists the wrong address as sender.

What is this fecking Ponzi scam doing on Leaf main thread? This can only hurt the coin.

Can someone please remove the scammer off the thread.

(removed the size tags as it's irritating)
What exactly is the problem and why will it "only hurt the coin"? Not trying to play smart here, but I fail to see exactly what's wrong with his site.
