1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KNC - Kyber Network on: May 03, 2022, 04:43:12 AM
I'm curious what the correct analysis of this particular market is?  I know the regulatory environment in crypto's is possibly changing at some stage.. Outside of that, the meandering south to less than half it's value is a surprise..
How would you analyze that?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / KNC - Kyber Network on: May 02, 2022, 05:11:02 PM
I swear that the crypto markets know what I'm thinking sometimes.  I looked at Kyber Network KNC recently and out of the he blue it broke a solid upward trend and just started falling.  It's now less than half.  It didn't start falling until I input a limit buy order(which didn't fill thankfully).

I'm on Kucoin.

What's going on with this coin?  Anyone else having the same experience?

Thanks for this.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transferring Cryptocurrencies? on: April 08, 2022, 04:29:44 AM
Thanks for all the answers.  On that note, what is the cheapest and fastest way to get fiat into a broker so I can buy and sell crypto soon after transfer?

For example, depositing fiat to Kucoin costs 3%
.  And if I transfer to Independent Reserve it takes 24 hours but is free.

Is there an exchange that'll let me transfer money instantly and cheaply?

I'm in Australia.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Transferring Cryptocurrencies? on: April 07, 2022, 12:31:30 PM
Recently I transferred from USDT from my Independent Reserve account to Kucoin.  Unfortunately I was stuck using the Eth2.0 network and that cost me USD 20 for that transaction.  Pretty steep.

If I use a credit card and transfer fiat to Kucoin it's $30 in every thousand.. Ridiculous.

I've only just figures out that the cost of transferring cryptocurrencies depends on which crytptocurrency I transfer.  Is that correct?

So I would have been better buying say Dogecoin in Independent Reserve then transferring that to Kucoin so I didn't have to pay that ridiculous fee.

Is my logic correct here?  What is the cheapest way to transfer cryptocurrencies between exchanges.. Is one coin cheaper to send than all the rest?

Thanks
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Limit Buy Filled but Cryptocurrency didn't go that low? on: February 21, 2022, 02:28:42 PM
Thanks for your answer.  I realize that different exchanges provide different prices.  Coinmarketcap provides a slightly different price to Binance!  Anyway, at the end of the day I found the bottom of the range and it seems to be working out for me.
I was surprise that there was a difference at all.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Limit Buy Filled but Cryptocurrency didn't go that low? on: February 21, 2022, 12:13:00 PM
I had a limit buy order set to but a specific crypto (XRP) at a lower price.  The order has now been filled but for some strange reason I can't see any trade history indicating that the crypto price went that low.

Does anyone know how this happens or is there something I haven't taken into consideration here?  Is it some quirky thing with Cryptocurrencies I'm not understanding?

Thanks
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / New and emerging Cryptocurrencies? on: February 11, 2022, 02:23:08 AM
Does anyone know how to monitor new and emerging cryptocurrencies?
I hear about these floats of new cryptocurrencies but have not idea how to know when they're coming.

Thanks
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Most extensive Crypto Exchange (most coins traded) on: May 21, 2018, 09:02:13 AM
Thanks for the help everyone!
I'm looking to sign up to Cryptopia and Bitfinex as well.
I'm pretty happy with Binance as it is, but want to trade some more obscure coins.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Most extensive Crypto Exchange (most coins traded) on: May 19, 2018, 02:47:56 AM
I'm trying to minimize moving my currencies around between exchanges so I'm trying to find a crypto exchange which trades the most coins.
I found one called Cryptopia in New Zealand, it trades around 800 coins.

I was hoping to find others like this which charge reasonable fees.  Currently I'm trading on Binance which I find pretty good.  I would gather Bitfinex would be much the same.

Any clues?
11  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cryptocurrency futures contracts including Bitcoin on: May 12, 2018, 06:59:16 AM
I'm more interested in understanding what might move the market?  For example, the maturity of these futures contracts would result in the physical settlement of a cryptocurrency.  I remember reading somewhere that it the maturity of crypto futures contracts can have an affect on the cryptocurrency price..

Which futures contacts would these be?  I was thinking of CME futures, but there must be millions of others all around the world.  Maybe there isn't.. Do you know?
12  Economy / Marketplace / Cryptocurrency futures contracts including Bitcoin on: May 11, 2018, 06:15:55 PM
I'm trying to understand the futures markets for cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin.  I know the cme launched Bitcoin Futures in 2017 but are they the only ones in the world or do other countries offer these?  Or do other countries offer other cryptocurrency futures contracts
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Buying NEO, Ripple, and other Altcoin with Ethereum? on: January 19, 2018, 02:57:42 AM
I'm set up now, it was pretty easy.  Yes they take Etherium.. Maybe in the early days they didn't which is probably where that perception came from.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Buying NEO, Ripple, and other Altcoin with Ethereum? on: January 17, 2018, 11:39:14 AM
How can I buy NEO, Ripple, and other Altcoin with Ethereum (not Bitcoin)?

I looked at Binance and they want Bitcoin..

Is there any exchange with reasonable fees who will take my Ethereum for some odd Altcoin?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you use a altcoin wallet? on: January 11, 2018, 01:13:26 AM
Thank you for that explanation.. I eventually came to the conclusion that you send to a wallet and then send it back to another exchange if you prefer to do that when trading.  It's coming together now.

The thing I like about wallets is that it's easy to see the progress (or digression) of your investments.   Undecided

Thanks for the explanation  Grin
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you use a altcoin wallet? on: January 03, 2018, 11:57:20 AM
It all depends on which coin. Monero for example as it's own wallet. Any other erc-20 tokens (based on ethereum) could be used with MyEtherWallet.
it is token based, so do your research before sending any coin to different wallets.

Brother, you couldn't be more vague!  I appreciate that you answered me but I'm sure allot of people out there could benefit from this question.

At what point do I make the link between my 'Market Buy' of say Ether (bought on Independent Reserve or any other exchange) and my wallet?
Do you send it there from the exchange you are using?
Do you make a request from your chosen wallet?
Do you copy  the private key from your exchange and then past it into the wallet?
Maybe it is sent like an email?

It's a point I'm really lost on!
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you use a altcoin wallet? on: January 03, 2018, 11:40:04 AM
Try to understand my perspective.  I am on Independent Reserve.
I make a 'Market Buy' for Bitcoin (for example), using AUD.
This market buy is probably recorded on the Independent reserve website so I can see it when I log in (haven't done it yet so I'm not sure).

Where does the wallet come into this..  Does the Independent Reserve website say, 'tell us where your wallet is and we'll send a record of the bitcoin you bought there' ?   So.. going forward I can look in my wallet and see my holdings... How does this work?

See what I mean, I'm drawing a blank on a fundamental point here!
18  Other / Beginners & Help / How do you use a altcoin wallet? on: January 03, 2018, 09:36:07 AM
I'm almost there.  Trading through independent reserve, have some assets in sites, made my deposits etc.. Now I need to make a purchase..
That part is easy ..

The thing I can't figure out is, how on earth do I use a wallet?   Do I refer to it during the transaction (buying bitcoin or altcoin) does the exchange I'm using ask for it, or... do I copy and past data into it?  (lol)..

I have not idea how to use one of these things.. What happens when I want to sell my altcoin as well?

I'm using Coinomi!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks  Huh
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying Altcoin with Fiat or other Altcoin? on: December 28, 2017, 10:23:12 PM
Do cryptocurrency exchanges generally charge more for the exchange from FIAT money to Cryptocurrency than they do when
trading cryptocurrency for cryptocurrency?

For example, Independent reserve charges .5% when buying crypto with FIAT.  But is it generally the same again if I buy
say Altcoin with Bitcoin?

Bittrex/Poloniex only charge you maker/trader fees, which is less then 0.5% for sure.

I believe both of them add up to 0.3%/0.4%, which is definitely better then what you're being charged now.

https://bittrex.com/fees Bittrex - 0.25%

https://poloniex.com/fees/ 0.15% /    0.25%

Thanks for that information!  What I'm trying to understand is, are the fees generally higher for the initial buy in from fiat currency to crypto, or are the fees generally the same no matter where you start (that being from fiat or crypto)?
