Note:I am not entirely sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'll give it a try.

Today I started buying and selling BTC on PaxFul. I also found out that non-verified accounts were almost unfindable when looking to buy/sell Bitcoin, and you have to get 50 trades before you can verify yourself. Sad

My question was; if anybody is looking to buy Bitcoin with PayPal or sell Bitcoin for PayPal, take a look and maybe help me out a bit Smiley Thanks!

If you genuinely have bitcoins for sale, be aware of the risks when accepting PayPal as payment method. It is reversible up to 180 days. Scammers exploit this generous time window to dispute or request a chargeback days, weeks or even months later.

You should also know that escrow cannot protect you if you take PayPal payments. That's because the risk of payment being reversed later defeats the core purpose of using escrow which is to protect both seller and buyer from scamming each other.

If you posted this with a faint hope of perhaps convincing people here to send you PayPal first (coins to follow later) none of the trusted traders here will do such a thing.

PayPal is best avoided when trading bitcoins, especially if the trade is between new members here. Scams are rife when PayPal is involved.

Thanks for the heads up.

I already experienced it once. PayPal closed the case in my favor, after calling for 50 minutes and sending loads of proof. PaxFul also released his phone number and IP address, that scared him a bit Smiley

Currently, I ask for ID verification including a selfie with the ID. I think this scares the scammers at least a little bit.

I have made more successful than unsuccessful trades right now, as long as it stays that way I'll keep selling with PayPal.

Anyway, thanks again!

10  Other / Beginners & Help / How to buy Ripple? on: January 11, 2018, 10:23:29 PM
HOW TO BUY RIPPLE?
Ripple is a cryptocurrency which is very popular and had a grow of 1000%+ in the last few months. In this period of time the interest in buying Ripple grown also with 1000%+.
Buying Ripple can be quite hard sometimes, that is why I decided to introduce myself with this guide on how to buy Ripple.

Starting of
We will start this guide by making an account on Binance, this is the exchange platform where we will exchange Bitcoin to Ripple. Binance is one of the biggest exchanges and supports a lot of different digital currencies.

To start the register process you can click here(affiliate) or here(non affiliate)

Once you clicked the link, you should go to the homepage of Binance, click in the top left corner on 'Register' it should look have 4 fields, one for you're email, two for your password and one for a partner ID, use the code '13191127' to be my referral, it doesn't cost anything, only gives me 20% of the transaction fees Smiley Make sure to agree with their terms of use before clicking 'Register'

If you completed these steps, you should receive a confirmation email from Binance to activate your account. In this email, their will be a button 'Verify email' click on this button to complete the steps of making a Binance account.

Step 2
Make a Coinbase account.

To make an account you can click here(affiliate, receive €10 worth of free bitcoin) or here(nonaffiliate). You will see a form where you need to fill in your personal details, like you're name and email, fill in these fields. The next field is for your password, make sure to choose a very strong password. The last step, agree to their terms.

Once again, you will be asked to verify your email by clicking a link in the email you just got.

Next step is adding you're phone number to the account, make sure you type it correctly. This number will be used for extra verification in big transactions and basically is another level of security.

Buying bitcoin
Click on the Buy/Sell tab in the dashboard of Coinbase and enter your payment details. Verify yourself whenever you are asked. After adding a payment method and verifying yourself, you'll see a choice between BTC, ETH, and LTC, choose Bitcoin (BTC). Then select you're preferred payment method and enter the amount you want to buy.

After paying the coins will be deposited into you're wallet, this may take some time.

Step 3
Sending the Bitcoin to Binance and exchanging it.

To send the Bitcoin you just bought to you're Binance wallet you'll need to go to the tab 'Accounts' in Coinbase and click 'Send'. Now you will be asked to add a Bitcoin address, this can be found in Binance by going to 'Funds > Withdrawal Deposits', looking up Bitcoin and clicking 'Deposit'. You should see a long series of numbers and letters, this is your wallet address. Copy this and paste it into Coinbase. Click send and the Bitcoin is on their way to your wallet.

Once the Bitcoin is received (this may take a while) it is time to exchange them into Ripple. This can be done by clicking on 'Exchange > Basic' and looking up 'XRP' in the search field, the search field can be found at the right side of your screen. You should see two options now; 'Buy XRP' and 'Sell XRP', use the 'Buy XRP' fields.

The first field is used for saying how much Bitcoin you are willing to pay per XRP coin. Set this to the last price, which can be found on the top left of the screen. The next field is used for saying how much XRP coins you want to buy, once you click on it you'll see the max amount of coins you can buy with your current price and Balance, you can also make use of the 25/50/75/100% buttons.

If you filled everything in, double check it and click on the green button to make it official. Before you will get the XRP coins, your offer has to be accepted by another seller. If you filled in the last price, this will happen fairly quick.

Congrats!
You've just bought Ripple!

I hope this guide helped you.

Please don't see this as any kind of financial advice. Remember: Cryptocurrencies are highly volatile and there is a great risk of you losing a lot of, if not all, of your money.

Need help buying another currency? Let me know and maybe I will make a guide for you next!

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Selling 3K Ripple on: December 14, 2017, 04:06:20 PM
Recently (11 December) I bought 3K Ripple, after the encouragement of my father. It cost me around €600. While I am writing this it is worth around €1700,-

Because of this, and that I don't have much faith in Ripple (sorry Smiley), I decided to sell them.

So far I haven't found a buyer and my normal place to sell is under maintenance. So I am giving it a try here.

I will sell it for the market price as seen on Coinmarketcap.

The coins can be bought all at once or at portions of minimum 25 ripple.

Payment can go through PayPal or Bank transfer (if dutch).

Send me a private message or an email to aalderstimo@gmail.com if interested.
