1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 13, 2013, 11:52:21 AM
am i reading this correctly that basically all QRKs have already been mined?

Quark is more fair than litecoin, peercoin, namecoin and more coins, just look at the distribution:
http://www.quarkcoin.cc/2013/12/10/mythbuster-quark-distribution/

And to answer your question. No, not all quarks have been mined.

And If i'm correct, there will always be quarks to mine, it won't drop to 0, like other btc/alt coins.

I just saw that in Wikipedia, and I'm not sure all the informations about Quarks are correct :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cryptocurrencies

Can someone confirm / correct if any ?

Your thousands of coins don't get succesfully transferred to an exchange and always get stuck? That's probably because you have too many small amounts of QRK in your wallet, which you can't send in one big transaction, you'll have to do many small. Open the debug window and type: sendtoaddress QbrKoVbkqFem4KVPaTVZhotw4Dhd1RQBuc 500 (change to your address if you want to  Cheesy, 500 is the amount of coins)
After pressing enter immediately press arrow up and enter again a few times, this is a lot faster than doing the transactions manually in the Qt window. If the coins did not get through run quarkcoin-qt.exe -salvagewallet to save the coins and try a smaller transaction. A transaction can contain up to 160 prior transactions, so if you got many p2pool transactions of 0.1 qrk you could send up to 16 QRK at a time.

So suppose I have to manage a lot of transactions from a lot of addresses, this could be very annoying on the long-term no ? If there is a need to "reset" the wallet or making a script that involves splitting a transaction into a smaller chunk ?

Or it's just if A send to B, and there's less than 160 different "A" address, B would only send balance / sum(different A) ?
I don't really get this point... Is it really useful in the process ? Is there any way to get rid of that ? Shocked

Is it best to get into a pool with a high hashrate, low hashrate, or does it not matter?

I would think it wouldn't matter but want to be sure.

With a higher hashrate, you're likely to have "less" profit, but more chance to find a block soon, so I believe you should go to a higher hashrate... At least this is what i'm doing, I must admit I've asked myself the same question Shocked

I had to compile it something like two days ago, and I also had a problem with libcurl when I ./configure, and I found a solution there:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4823.0

Sorry for necroposting, but there is solution. (I am using FreeBSD).

Code:
$ cd cpuminer
$ mkdir m4
$ cp /usr/local/share/doc/curl/libcurl/libcurl.m4 m4

Then add string "ACLOCAL_AMFLAGS = -I m4" to file Makefile.am and edit file autogen.sh - replace string "aclocal" with "aclocal -I m4".

That's all.

You mean, when you do the command "./configure" , it doesn't do anything ?
Your line with CFLAGS seems weird. maybe you should edit it rather than invoking it in a terminal ?
What are the errors ?

I know they are some problems with libcurl and the m4 file for exemple Shocked

Is there someone actually translating it to French ?

It may be a stupid questions but I didn't find anything related to mPown what is it exactly ?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: November 19, 2013, 02:30:30 PM
I was wondering if there was any list that lists of websites where we can use Qrk ?

The reason I did set the "Draw" as a deafeat was to offer a high win value.
But I tried, and I admit that without "draw", it's nearly impossible to win more than 3 / 4 times in a row.

So I added the "Draw" (it's "draw" or "tie" for this kind of game ?), which just don't count your move, and re-generate a new game (like when playing in real life Smiley). But I decreased the winning %, because chaining victories make the value grow quite fast.
(Previous: Min/Max = 177%/233%, Current Min/Max = 145%/195%) .

I'm of course still open for any new features / improvement / suggestions Smiley

You can also put a "&" to the end of your command line (like : " ./minerd &" )
Or use "nohup" (it's a kind of "screen" like, but it's very useful for server for exemple)

Perso je me suis toujours demandé si il y avais moyen de s'en fabriquer soi-même, et à quel prix.
J'ai cherché mais y'a assez peu d'info finalement pour faire son propre Casascius !
14  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Gambling & Faucet website on: August 20, 2013, 02:35:37 PM
Thanks Smiley

I'm currently working on adding a start page where you could choose between some more currencies than Bitcoin Smiley
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 17, 2013, 08:50:04 AM
You grab the sources, and compile it yourself Smiley

You'll need the package needed to build, like autoconf, automake, gcc, libcurl. (Depending on your linux OS, everything you need is packed into "build-essential" or "base-devel" Smiley).
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 15, 2013, 08:42:39 PM
I'm currently thinking of a game that could be using QuarkCoin only.
It should be a great way to promote the coin, and make its value increase, am I right ?
17  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Gambling & Faucet website on: August 15, 2013, 08:34:34 PM
I allow myself this double-post to indicate that the Faucet is finally over !
(Though it is currently empty)

And the % of reward when a correct move is done has been increased Smiley

I'm still looking for any suggestions or feedback Smiley

20  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [INTEREST-CHECK] A Minecraft server where you get BTC for killing mobs / mining on: August 13, 2013, 12:09:45 PM
I agree with Boelens, using Bitcoin may be more "user-friendly" for people who don't want to download another altcoin wallet (+ miner (+ whatever it can be)).
And if this is designed to be used on only one server, there's no need to do with something else. Smiley (of course that's only my opinion.)

Are you going to make a website about your project Boelens ?
