Thanks for the offer but I feel like the complete mess is more representative of my lifestyle Smiley

Hey guys and girls, finally got our fan kits up on the site, its sized specifically for the GekkoScience Hubs...

Well that looks a hell of a lot better than my disaster of a build. Good luck with your sales Smiley

I put together a handful of sidehack sticks (2x Compac and 1x 2Pac) into the ultimate mining machine. Right now I've got a 1 in 9 million chance of hitting a block each day, wish me luck Smiley

Here's a pic of the rig in action:

Here's a pic partway through construction, that shows the guts of this monstrosity:

The exhaust fan is powered by USB (it's a 12v fan so 5v makes it nice and quiet) and so is the fan attached to one of the compacs. The fan attached to the compac is a former laptop CPU fan that's been repurposed for extreme (ly sketchy) cooling.

Below is a series of progress pics:

Note the sketchy off-brand thermal paste and the very secure method of installing the heatsink with electrical tape. Despite this, it runs far cooler than the other compac, probably because the fan is designed for cooling a 30W CPU. Too bad my hub is too weak to crank the voltage up. Cry

Well, I didn't find any buyers, but I did find an exchange which has opened deposits for this pile of crap. Consider this thread over! Thanks for your time, folks.

Hey folks,

I have roughly 2.5 super bitcoin that I don't want or need. I can't trade it on any exchanges that I'm registered on, and to be honest I'm too stubborn to register for one that does.

Right now this coin is going for 175 at coinmarketcap. Since it's probably going to be a pain for anyone to sell, I'll exchange it for BTC (although I won't refuse offers of other alts) at 149USD/ea. Any offer is welcome, if there's zero interest I'm willing to go lower. Willing to do ognasty escrow--I can put up collateral if you pay the escrow fee--or you can deal with me directly. If you don't want to use escrow you must send first. I have a long trading history with far more valuable items than this, although I've been very quiet for the past few months. It's up to you
I don't think any real person would buy this shit coin  Grin, good luck though

Well, some people are, given by the fact that it's actually trading on a few exchanges. But that's a good point, I think it's going nowhere and I suspect its value will continue to drop rapidly. Consider the price lowered to 125USD/each.

Anyone have one of these lying around? I'll give ya $50 usd for it and pay for shipping. I'm located in Canada.

Sale pending. Sold. Thanks for your interest everyone.
9  Economy / Computer hardware / [Sold][In Hand] Antminer L3+ on: June 29, 2017, 02:35:25 AM
This is going to sound ridiculous, but I'm asking $5000USD in btc for it shipped within Canada/CONUS.

On ebay it's going for even more stupid amounts of money. I know y'all hate ebay... but maybe I can get a stupid amount of money too. I bought this recently and although I'd like to mine with it, I doubt it will make more than $5000USD in its lifetime, so if someone wants to pay me that I'll gladly take their money.

Another 250USD and I'll throw in the PSU. I bought it brand new from newegg last week. It's an HX1000i, 80 plus platinum, runs at 90% efficiency with this load on 120v. The psu only comes with 8 pcie outputs, but I used a molex->pcie to power the controller and the L3+ runs fine. Hashes stable at 550MH/s @ 910W clocked to 425. If you run it @ 220v you'll probably get even better efficiency, but who gives a shit about efficiency with this money printing monster. You might be able to squeeze more coins out of it with more aggressive overclocking--I haven't tried because I'm a wuss.

Willing to do ognasty escrow, you pay the fee. If you're a silly goose, you can also pay me up front.

If people are actually interested at this price, I'll post pics.

If not... well... I tried.

pmed! (figured you might have missed it)
11  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Any ASIC usb miners on: June 25, 2017, 01:12:18 PM
I've got quite the variety of usb miners lying around my house. I have a shitload of dualminer usbs that can mine multiple algorithms (sha256 and scrypt), I've got a handful of asicminer block erupter usbs that mine sha256, I've got a couple of gekkoscience usbs that mine sha256, and I've got a futurebit moonlander that mines scrypt.

Let me know which one you're interested in, I'll definitely beat ebay prices.

I even have a BFL fpga that mines sha256 (what a fun piece of Bitcoin mining history!)

Hey, the windows binaries for bfgminer have been taken down from dropbox... Does anyone have them lying around?

I'm raising this from the dead, I just rediscovered these in my closet and realized there actually might be demand now.

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Unable to recover bb10/android wallet backup on: January 04, 2017, 03:09:48 AM
I resolved this issue by recovering the data from the phone. The backup never ended up working. I guess I'll leave this thread out here because this may be an issue with the wallet software...

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Unable to recover bb10/android wallet backup on: January 01, 2017, 10:13:38 PM
Heya folks. I have some magic internet money that I stored in the bitcoin wallet for Blackberry 10. This is the same wallet as the android one, although the versioning seems to work differently.

I made a backup in October of my wallet, and recently my phone went kablooie. However, I am unable to recover the bitcoins from my backup file. When I put the backup file in the Download folder in an android phone (I ensured this was the correct folder), the android app did not see the backup. Same with a blackberry phone running the latest bitcoin wallet.

Manual decryption is giving me no dice either. When I run the following command:
Code:
openssl enc -d -p -aes-256-cbc -a -in -bitcoin-wallet-backup-2016-10-24 -pass:MYPASSWORDHERE > bitcoin-wallet-decrypted-backup
I get the following output:
Code:
error reading input file

Perhaps the backup file is corrupted? The size is 33,697 bytes. Any help would be greatly appreciated, folks!
