1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to invest for 10000 $. on: December 16, 2017, 09:05:33 AM

1. If I have 10000 USD , what should I invest in ?
2. Options are BTC, ETH, LTC and <any one altcoin> of your choice.
3. I need to cash out on April 1st 2018.

Need advice.

I personally would put some money in IOTA. It's a perspective coin with a LOT of room to wiggle.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am underage and having extreme difficulty buying Bitcoin. Help a kid out! on: December 16, 2017, 05:58:45 AM
Hi, Does anyone here have any experience of overcoming this issue. The amount I want to park in bitcoin and maybe other altcoins is not big but also not small.

Help a kid out!

You will need your parents to register on an exchange. Assuming you're in USA, try Poloniex. Don't invest a lot and be ready to lose ALL the money. Good luck!

Hi, As you can tell, I'm new to the world of Bitcoin.

I have learned a lot about the basics of Boitcoin, but there is much more to learn. I hope to get some advices from the pro!
Such how to invested in bitcoins and other ways to buy Bitcoins ( not only exchanges). Also whats' your personal experience using the Bitcoin and what's your journey?

Your post doesn't carry any informational value. You should look into what BTC is first of all and then decide if it's something you want to be involved in. Be prepared to lose ALL of your money in any crypto.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Guide on Where to Start Mining on: December 16, 2017, 12:24:01 AM
That’s a great point and something I will add in the near future to part 4 discussing ROI and best ways to determine what each cards profitability is. Thanks for the feedback I overlooked adding that in.

Great post, the profitability in BTC/USD with possible price outcomes would be priceless.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to invest £25 per month into bitcoin for the next couple of years on: December 15, 2017, 11:37:08 PM
I'm 25, I have a full-time job and sometimes I freelance. I'm thinking about making a small investment (£25) into bitcoins on monthly basis. Additionally, I want to invest the money I get from the freelance into it as well, but it's not very stable income, so I mainly want to focus on small monthly investments.

  • Can anyone consider this idea as a good one?
  • What are the possible cons of this idea except losing all money?

Why are you suggesting him that? It's such a bad idea; he will LOSE a bunch of money on fees. Plus BTC is high now.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]: cpuminer-opt v3.7.6, open source optimized multi-algo CPU miner on: December 15, 2017, 11:29:33 PM
Has anyone tried to compile cpuminer-opt on ARM architecture? I've tried, but it fails miserably...

Tried, works fine. How are you trying to do it?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus Prime Z270-A Mining Rig keeps rebooting on: December 15, 2017, 11:17:00 PM
Even if you did the configuration just as crazydane showed the rig keeps rebooting. Either a bad RAM (rare case) but I would suggest to people to stop building mining rigs on motherboards which are not designed for mining. I wonder why you buy a Z270 chipset which costs quite some money when with the same money you can buy ASUS B250 MINING EXPERT a board dedicated to mining and I am sure it won't reboot.

Personally I have 2 MSI and 4 Gigabyte boards, both are having problems , they don't recognise more than 5 GPU-s with all Bios settings tweaked and they do have 6 PCIEX slots. With BIOSTAR TB250 PRO BTC which I build latest board it recognised 6 cards immediately and is running stable from a few days. Based on my personal experience I think miners should buy mining motherboards.

They most likely simply overheat. Try providing them extra cooling.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) Mining without the need of Downloads and Hardware on: December 15, 2017, 11:03:53 PM
Guys, I need some help and information.

I want to mine Bitcoin Gold, but without having to use my own electricity so no downloads and hardware etc.

Basically, are there any programs online, like Genesis Mining for example, where I can pay for Bitcoin Gold to be Mined for me and then payed directly into my BTG Wallet etc.

If anything out there, please let me know guys 👍😊👍

It's generally not a good idea to mine a coin that has no potential  Wink
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining is still alive and kicking! on: December 15, 2017, 10:44:05 PM
I think mining with a CPU is not an effective form. I've also tried to exploit some altcoin with the CPU, but it's not profitable for me because the performance is not high. In my opinion, you can use GPU or some professional exploiting machine will bring more efficiency.

What if you have an older computer that has already paid off its value with its work, but is it still strong enough to be able to dig up some crypto currencies? Will you still use it for ordinary surfing and CPU mining or will you throw it off? Btw. soon come new projects for CPU mining such as JSEcoin and Nimiq.

It's not effective. You will get CENTS.

STRATIS will reach far. I really like the idea behind it, IMHO it's a top 10 coin in 2018.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 15, 2017, 10:21:09 PM
Hi guys,

Quote
The total number of bytes is 1015, all bytes were issued in the genesis transaction. Since the fees paid are returned into the circulation, the money supply will remain the same.

Exchanges list the currency as gigabytes (GB, GBYTE), 1 gigabyte is 1 billion bytes.  The total money supply in gigabytes is 1,000,000.

I look at coinmarketcap and see:

Code:
Circulating Supply
645,222 GBYTE

Total Supply
1,000,000 GBYTE

What is that mean? Is BYTEBALL still supplying coins?

It means that not all the coins are in circulation. They are stored in a wallet or are not even mined yet. You need to do some research on crypto  Smiley
13  Economy / Services / Re: $2 million asic pruchase on: December 15, 2017, 10:12:47 PM

Do your investors a huge favor. Take that money and put it across to the top 10-20 alts. 50% bitcoin splitting the rest up depending on your research of each coin and how you think it will play a role in future.  Mining is a war amongst asic manufacturers now. I wouldn’t waste my time or money.  Again I say this ask any legendary member of this forum what would have been the better buy.  Coins or machines.  Hands down it would have been the coins.

Checkout coinmarketcap and really do your research.  I can’t stress this enough.  I can tell you haven’t done enough because your still looking to buy machines.

BR

You should throw all of this 'advice' away. People that think just buying coins and hodling dont really understand how this game works.

$2 million worth of s9s right now is about 1250 machines after buying PSUs.

1250 machines @ 13.5th = 16.875ph

16.875ph is worth roughly $50k per day. Calculate power at $0.06/kwh the daily profit is $42.8k

$48.2k x 365 = $15.62 million per year. Obviously there is other operational costs involved so say 20% goes to that, leaving $12.5 million in profit for the year.

Buying and hodling $2 mil in coins means the price needs to go up over 6x in one year to make the same profit.

Then you consider the fact that the hardware will be printing money for you for AT LEAST another 2 years at zero additional cost, the fact that the hardware has a strong resale value when you do decide to upgrade, and the fact that the coins you receive from mining will appreciate just as fast as the coins you would have just purchased with cash. Why would anyone choose to just buy and hodl while leaving millions of dollars on the table?

Yes the profitability is not a static number, these numbers are just to be used as a general example. If btc continues to rise faster than the network difficulty you will actually profit more than what I have shown with some basic back of the napkin math.

That's a plan without re-investing in ASICS. What if you re-invest the money  Wink
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can someone create a coin for your country? on: December 15, 2017, 10:00:34 PM
A cryptocurrency is special and it would be very special if its named after your school.

•How one can create a coin named after my country?

•How will this coin increase this value? This would be very great to business mens who are interested in bitcoin.

In reality it wouldn't have much value. Coins that are used by MAJORITY have value; not the ones used by a limited number of people.
