1  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 5970, 5850, 6990 [WTB] 7970 on: August 30, 2012, 01:04:34 PM
Hey guys.

So I've decided I'm out of the mining game, leaving me with 2x5850's, a 5970 and a 6990.

The crossfire of the 6990 is being all sorts of annoying in some of the games I play and i've decided I want to get a decent single GPU, hence the 7970.

I'll be willing to consider swaps for a 7970, either for the 5970, or maybe the 6990 if something else can be added to sweeten the deal.

I'm in the UK, so shipping to US might be problematic but I'll consider any offers.

Forgot to mention, these are all XFX cards and have been bought by me from new.
2  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Android & Java tutoring/help on: February 20, 2012, 06:37:45 PM
I would say the project is basic-intermediate difficulty. I wouldn't say the coding is very hard, but I am using lots of different technologies I have little experience with, little bit of databases, some Bluetooth, and working with Android, which separately I can sort of work with, but when combining them I'm at a bit of a loss.
3  Economy / Services / Looking for Android & Java tutoring/help on: February 20, 2012, 05:58:45 PM
Hey.

I'm looking for someone to tutor me in Android/Java for BTC. I have a program I'm writing and need some serious help.
Mainly looking for help with the Android side of things.

Preferably the tutoring would happen over Skype or something, with a shared screen for the code.

Looking to pay something like 3-4BTC an hour, but price is negotiable.

If you think you can help PM me and we can talk Smiley

Thanks.
4  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] CS:Go Beta Key on: December 01, 2011, 03:34:05 AM
I have one for sale, but I'm looking for about 60BTC for it...

EDIT: and if anyone thinks that price is unjustified and batshit crazy, people are paying it - http://www.ebay.de/itm/Counter-Strike-Global-Offensive-Beta-Key-CS-Go-/140651341895?pt=de_entertainment_games&hash=item20bf792847#ht_652wt_1133
5  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Counter Strike: Global Offensive - CS:GO Beta key & COD4MW for steam. on: September 28, 2011, 07:49:31 PM
I have a beta key for Valve's newest game - Counter Strike: Global Offensive. I got it from the CS:GO stand at Eurogamer last Sunday.

Price is negotiable, but I'm looking for around 10BTC for it.

I also have a Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare game to sell, looking for about 3-4BTC for it.

Both of these will be given via steam.

I would prefer if the BTC is sent first but PM me and we can talk.
6  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why has the network jumper to 14 terahashes? on: July 13, 2011, 07:55:52 PM
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1622219 was posted today, by the look of the replies quite a few people there didn't know about bitcoins before. If any forum has the hardware to make an increase like that it would be them.
7  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why has the network jumper to 14 terahashes? on: July 13, 2011, 07:47:05 PM
There's no way this increase is variance, some serious hardware is coming online...

9  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What happend to BMBTC/PPUSD on BitcoinMarket? on: June 05, 2011, 10:46:15 PM
From the site:

2011-6-04 - Suspending BMBTC/PPUSD Trades
BMBTC/PPUSD trades are suspended until further notice. The email issues along with fraudulent behavior has created a tremendous backlog of 'Unconfirmed' BMBTC/PPUSD trades. We must suspend new orders for BMBTC/PPUSD until we can resolve these trades and bring the situation under control. We appreciate your patience.

12  Economy / Marketplace / bitcoinmarket.com withdrawing BTC on: June 04, 2011, 12:13:06 AM
Hey.

I've recently bought some bitcoins on bitcoinmarket.com, 8 to be exact.

I have seeming initiated the transfer to my bitcoin client, however nothing is showing yet, and along the top of my 'accounts' section it says "Attention: You Must Register A Payment Processor Before Making A Deposit, Withdraw Or Trade To Or From An Account!"

I think i've done that though. I'm just confused, this website is a bit baffling compared to other trade sites.

So my question is, do i just wait, or is there something i need to do?

EDIT: Nevermind it's come through now, it all makes sense Cheesy
13  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Multiple cards with PCI-E-x1 - newbie question on: June 01, 2011, 03:38:49 PM
Semi-relevant thread hijack:

What's the voltage that the PCI-E x1 can give? Is it possible to run a dual GPU card through a PCI-E x1 extender, a 5970 for example.
14  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~1600 Gh/s Mining Pool] _0% FEE_, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: June 01, 2011, 01:15:49 AM
I've also noticed that the i've been caught in the DDoS filter... I can connect to the website fine when i use a VPN, but back on home IP and nothing. My miner doesn't have any kind of VPN ability currently so I guess i'll just have to wait it out.

How long are you blocking suspected IPs for?
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New 6990 Setup Questions on: May 31, 2011, 11:01:55 PM
If you intend to run two 6990s, my understanding is that you'll need to run Linux.

Nope. Windows can do 4 GPUs, 2 in each of the 6990's. It would work fine.
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New 6990 Setup Questions on: May 31, 2011, 05:50:50 PM
Q1. 750w will definitely be enough for 1 6990, and will definitely not be enough for 2. Tongue I would say 950 at least if you're running 2 6990's.
Q2. Nah, gigabyte brand will be fine, go for it Cheesy

Side note: i would say don't go with 2 6990's, better purchases can be made for pretty much any use you have.
17  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: [Selling] A few steam games on: May 30, 2011, 03:42:49 AM

BUMP, Lowered prices.
19  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Another newbie mining rig post on: May 28, 2011, 04:04:08 PM
The 6990's are very power hungry. Even with 1200w PSU i would have thought it would be a struggle to add a fourth card, that is of course assuming you even manage to get one in there.

Also heat, I would say that rig would only be good for 2 6990's. Cramming them together in my experience does not work as the coolers simply cannot dissipate that much heat when 3 of them are crammed next to each other. If you're buying some PCI-E risers to have the cards away from the motherboard then maybe it's viable.

Think carefully about why you're buying this rig with your friends too, for profit? Unlikely you'll make a single dollar back on the total investment
You were getting the parts anyway and want to make some money back on them? A better scenario, but then you need to think about who gets the parts when it becomes unprofitable, and splitting the costs of various things.

Where are you planning on having this rig? In a bedroom, no way. The fans will drive you crazy. Even if it's in an adjacent room the noise can be pretty annoying.

As for gaming while mining, you will damn near have to stop all mining activity while you want to game, as it will make playing the game an unenjoyably experience.
20  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~1300 Gh/s Mining Pool] SSL, API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: May 28, 2011, 12:39:06 AM
I would like to report 2.32 BTC that just went missing when i tried to use instant payout.

That was pretty much everything my rig just earned over the last 24 hours, and just playing around on the website i clicked instant payout the BTC were removed from my BTC account, and the transaction shows up on my payments sheet, but the transaction it links to on block explorer says there is no such transaction.

I consider this pretty shitty and will leave deepbit if this isn't resolved...
