1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can people please report if they have withdrawn BTC from Mtgox and if it arrived on: February 07, 2014, 02:37:56 AM
I was trying to withdraw a few BTC yesterday and getting the error "limit reached or not enough BTC in account" even though it was not the case. I lowered the withdrawal to 1 BTC and it went through but hasn't hit the blockchain...

Did you minus the  BTC 0.001 for the fee?

Yes

Hi and welcome to the site. I think it's as good a time as any to invest some money in bitcoin. One of the strategies commonly recommended for investing fiat into bitcoin is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dollar_cost_averaging

Yes, the tick-offset makes a lot of difference in back testing, but much less in the actual performance of the bot.  Remember, you are trying to learn from past market conditions in order to form an effective strategy for the future.  This should in no way be confused with "predicting the future".

The different results you get with different offsets are largely luck.  Whereas you can "see" the luck factor in hindsight, you cannot use the tool to predict future "luck".

It has been discussed prior in this forum other factors that may be gleaned from offset testing.  I recommend those playing with this feature review that discussion.

Thanks! Yeah that makes sense. I'll look into the previous discussions...

Automated strategy adjustment is actually something we are interested in, but it is very resource intensive to implement. We will be looking into this once we have pushed out hosting, altcoins, etc. and our pipeline is a little bit looser Smiley.

Pablo.

Nice one Pablo Smiley

If I did something wrong, i apologise in advance, but i'm just not seeing that performance.

Tick offset can make a big difference. For 2 hour strategy, it seems we should try at least 180 different tick offset settings... maybe one day butter will do this for us to find the best setting??

Hi Pablo and all

New butter bot user here. Happy with the product overall.

Just wondering if anyone has strategy / butter settings advice for the recent period of high price and volatility.

Butter was trading nicely and making a small profit compared to buy and hold, but I don't feel as confident now in these conditions...

Cheers
