Those two articles don't say jack shit about the SEC getting involved with Skycoin. In fact, there is little in those articles besides conjecture. The twitter user doesn't even have the recording of Synth up anymore...it's just the some random commentary being made - zero evidence to prove anything. GTFOH!! Show me some evidence 1st. The reason why difficulty is raised is because more hash power is thrown at the network. There can be many reasons for this. Unless the person/group who is doing it comes in here and tells us why...we are all just guessing. Who knows? Maybe they want to mine Verge for 15 minutes and then switch to something else for a little while and then they come back.
^ this assumes that what you are saying is true and the difficulty is in fact being raised (i didn't take the time to verify this)

With Verge being one of the few coins in the red at the moment, and experiencing a correction after the pre-announcement pump. My gut is telling me that Verge will be looking like it's at fire sale prices when the big money players are satisfied with their alt coin profits and begin to rake those in. What they gonna do with all that BTC? HODL? nah...they gonna sell that BTC to buy up Verge so that they can get even more profit later on when they sell their Verge at its next ATH.
^pure speculation, but that's what I'd be doing if I was a rich son bitch. Don't be so worried about being in the red right now...this might be a really good situation actually!

First of all, I never said anything about blocks 2072442 <--> 2072431. I was using 2072217 & 2072221 simply as an example of a large time gap which is clearly visible and referring to the associated wallet address, D9duEGdmX76Py3YvG36FYav39XEsRFDWjd transactions.
Perhaps your sampling of blocks 2072431 --> 2072442 are all "valid" blocks. . That is fine and can is certainly possible with the current code state of drift time allowance. However, if you apply your formula ("Calculating the Median timestamp of these previous 11 Blocks") to the block sampling I DID point out (blocks 2072221 --> blocks 2072210), I find them to NOT be valid: 15:52:02 < 15:52:56
I used Block 2072442 just to test with as I was assuming any Block would fail the validity test if there was an issue with the blockchain. However, since you are saying that the Block sample you used failed the test - I went ahead and attempted to verify your results. I am here back reporting that I could NOT reproduce your results. Taking the Median of the previous 11 Blocks (2072220 to 2072210) we get a Timestamp = 17:52:01 Block 2072221 is a valid Block because its timestamp is greater than the Median of the previous 11 Blocks. 17:54:50 > 17:52:01 I'm happy to verify that we do indeed have invalid Blocks present on the Verge blockchain if you are able to provide me with a Block number that is actually invalid. How about current situation of VERGE network? Has the replay attacks been over?
Has the VERGE network recovered to its normal stability?
YES, everything is hunky-dory. People are still bugging out because they are seeing timestamps of Blocks in the Block Explorer that are earlier than previous Blocks. This is 100% working as designed. The phenomenon is called clock drift and anyone can run a simple calculation to verify if the Block's timestamp is valid and therefore should be included in the blockchain. For Verge, I just verified the calculation. I ran the clock drift calculation testing the validity of block 2072442. I have downloaded the updated wallet 10.5.2, but the wallet is stuck on block = 857029.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Alternatively, does anyone know where to download the latest Bata Blockchain? Maybe I can avoid getting stuck that way.
