1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: October 23, 2021, 11:26:28 AM
-snip-
Did you check the segwit addresses?

I checked the balance on the private key (the one with the smallest amount), 0 BTC, address never used. Then I checked it based on it's legacy public address, again 0 BTC.

I haven't checked the segwit address because I have no way to get the segwit public wallet from a private key.
To get the legacy public wallet from the private key I used the old brainwallet javascript web site. Know of any javascript sites that work offline to calculate the segwit address from the private key?
2  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: October 23, 2021, 11:10:46 AM
I deposited over $10k in chipmixer over the onion url (chipmixorflykuxu56uxy7gf5o6ggig7xru7dnihc4fm4cxqsc63e6id.onion) on a very secure PC and clicked on withdraw. I was given a list of the private keys as usual with the amounts associated with each. Then when I checked the public addresses of the private keys on the blockchain, each wallet had 0 BTC and no incoming and no outgoing transactions.

This has never happened before after using the service dozens of times.

Chipmixer, is there a problem? Where's my BTC?
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: you're making bitcoin complicated on: September 03, 2020, 07:19:15 AM
Everyone has a smartphone nowadays, when they ask you what Bitcoin wallet to use, tell them to use MYCELIUM, it is available for Android and Apple phones.
I vouch for Mycelium but if you know of a better/safer smartphone wallet app, advise them to use that.

Just tell them to make a backup of the wallet and keep it in a safe place just in case they lose their phone.

They don't have to earn Bitcoin, they can always buy Bitcoin with their fiat money for testing, investing, or transactional purposes.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 03, 2020, 06:50:13 AM
I bought 2000 XMR at $130, I'll be holding it for the long term. I will re-evaluate 3 years from now and report back to this thread. I'll keep buying the dips and hold at $70, $40, $10, $1, $0.5 if it ever reaches those levels. Just bought another 300 XMR at $102.

I do believe XMR will reach a minimum of $2,300/XMR and possibly even $13,000/XMR if not more 36 months from now.
Unlike other coins, it is the only coin that has practical use and is used widely today, it is #2 in my eyes after BTC (#1).

All other coins are pure speculation at this point in time.

Three years have passed since I made this post. I had sold 50 BTC and bought 2000 XMR at that time and said I will report back in 3 years.
The current price of XMR is $88.85. I took a huge loss, I haven't sold yet but it is a floating loss. If I had kept my BTC and not bought XMR at that time with it, I wouldn't have been -$386,084 today.

I still have high hopes for XMR, will report back to this thread 1 year from today.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling BTC for Cash in Person in the US: What are the options? on: February 21, 2020, 07:01:05 PM

Hi,

Are you still trade forex and crypto?

Pm me  Smiley

I no longer trade forex and I never traded crypto (thank God), I only hoard crypto, more specifically, I only hoard Bitcoin, any other crypto is a scam IMO.

Nowadays I just turn lead into gold, literally.

6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Selling BTC for Cash in Person in the US: What are the options? on: February 21, 2020, 06:44:39 PM
I want to sell BTC for cash in person in the US. What are the current options?

Before they removed the cash/in-person option on localbitcoins.com, that is what I used for many years to find buyers for the BTC and meet with them in person locally.

What are the current options to find BTC buyers (and sellers) for cash transactions in person?

Back in 2011, I used to use bitcoin-otc.com but I looked at it today and ther order book is practically empty.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next 5 year for Bitcoin on: October 13, 2017, 03:06:23 PM
The bitcoin price in 5 years will be between $500,000 and $2,500,000 per BTC.
Many people on this forum ask what will be the next coin that will go up 100x+, I say it will be Bitcoin, again.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 04, 2017, 07:59:37 PM
Monero is one of only 3 projects, of the top 20, that are in full compliance with FINCEN and SEC rules. The other two being Bitcoin and Litecoin. Aminorex's predictions for the following year are starting to sound more and more likely.

Bitcoin and Litecoin are almost identical, there's no major innovation vs Bitcoin when it comes to Litecoin. Plus, no one uses Litecoin, it is now used only for speculation. Monero on the other hand does have major innovation over Bitcoin when it comes to privacy, it is private out of the box, no mixing needed plus it has practical uses. The only thing holding Monero back right now is the easy of use, it is not simple. I've been in crypto $  for about 5 years and cryptography since the early 1990's and I find Monero hard to use. BUT all of this will change as soon as someone makes an efficient and easy to use wallet app for Monero, then we will see Monero go to the moon in a matter of days/weeks.

A wallet app for Monero efficient like Mycelium for Bitcoin, is that too much to ask for?!?! Make it happen, and watch it go over $1000/XMR.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC, BCH, XMR and LTC will be the winner of China ICO ban on: September 04, 2017, 06:35:59 PM
I have big faith in XMR and you are right, the major coins are winners in this ICO ban. If XMR doesn't overtake BTC then it will be in second place in the very near future. I predict a price between $2,300 and $15,000 3 years from now so I'm holding it for the long term. My prediction for BTC is that it will grow 100 to 150 times current price levels as well. Monero provides more privacy out of the box than BTC but it lacks infrastructure, basic things like a lite wallet and an efficient Android/Apple wallet app, these of course will come with time maybe even a few weeks from now and then XMR will go to the moon once it becomes easier to use by just installing a wallet app on your phone. XMR is also used in practice side by side with Bitcoin, it has practical and real use.

All other coins are pure speculation IMO.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to manually push/send a BCH (BitcoinCash) transaction? on: August 04, 2017, 10:07:08 PM
For bitcoin you can manually push a BTC transaction on  www.blockchain.info/pushtx

Is there an online website equivalent for the BitcoinCash?

I want to be able to push BCH transactions manually through a website.

12  Economy / Service Discussion / Reputable forex brokers that accept bitcoin deposits? on: August 30, 2016, 04:51:39 PM
Are there any trustworthy forex brokers that accept bitcoin deposits?  I'm looking to trade with 1:500 leverage and have the ability to withdraw profits in bitcoins. Monthly profits tends to be 100-800% so a top tier broker is needed that can pay out withdrawals in the millions of USD.

I dealt with fxopen 6 years ago and had a bad experience, they refused to pay my profits and just sent my deposit back after calling them multiple times a day for a week and a half. I know they now accept bitcoins for deposits, but they will probably beat around the bush at withdrawal time especially since they most likely keep all orders in the B book.
