First and most important of all is you do your homework and research. after doing that see if this 3 things are in that ICO.

1. Existence of project product or service.
2. Value or Quality of the offered product or service.
3. Partners or Company Members involved in the project.

if these 3 are present on that ICO then i can say that its a possible good altcoin.

What they don't like in Bitcoin is its fast changing value. they are scared that today they have a pretty decent value of bitcoin but tomorrow that can be the opposite. one other thing is the possibility of security breaches. once this happens the value of bitcoin will surely fall.

I'm a newbie and i'm quite confused on why the value of bitcoin has dramatically decreased.

i mean yes i expect that someday the value of bitcoin will decrease, but for that to happen in a short period of time there should be a good reason.

can anyone please explain that to me so i can learn something from this event?

if the company beyond a coin has good products or services.. then you can say that its a good coin.

bitcoin is really good and its good to have plenty of time to monitor and learn from this.

However, there are several things that you need to consider before you quit your job for bitcoin.

1. Are you single and does not have any responsibilities?
2. Your not dependent on your Job Financially?
3. Do you have the needed funds to start bitcoin?

if the answer for for those questions is YES then i think you can quit your job. but if one of your answer for the questions has a No. then you should triple think about quitting your job.
