1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] - LTC Windows Stealth Miner - Remotely Manage your miners! on: September 11, 2013, 09:09:40 AM
If I point the miner to 127.0.0.1 as a host with C&C, will it work? I am trying to do it in a VMWare first. The miner seems to start and load the CPU, but I never get anything reported in C&C.

By the way, it is a WinXP machine under VMWare.

Another question is: if I try to install the full package with C&C in it, the miner seems to install behind the scenes and start loading the process with work, but there is no way to get to the C&C. I don't see any files or directories copied anywhere, so the only way for me was to get a standalone C&C package and start that. Am I missing something?

Thanks.

+1 I also would love to have the working link. Try adrive.com - they have a free ad driven membership plan. You can store your files indefinitely and there is no download limit. Simply upload and share.

Im posting this as a courtesy.

Those who are new to bitcion and mining and would like to buy some USB block erupters or Blades and you dont want to go through the forums check out this website www.MinerSource.net

Can anyone confirm that it is a legit site?

I agree that if you want to experiment, stick with USB Erupters.  I just bought one on Ebay for about $45 delivered.  It's good to experiment with.  It won't be profitable to mine with it, but it does gives me some hardware to tinker with.

I doubt you would even recover the cost of Blades, much less make a profit, and they would make for an expensive hobby.

I might buy a few more USB Erupters if the price drops a bunch, but even then it would be because of my interest in software and not because it would be a good investment.

Bummer, I was considering buying 2 usb erupters. It is a good thing I stumbled across this forum.

There are some BFL rigs on sale on eBay with pictures and all. Sooo, the question is why are people reselling them? Roll Eyes
