1  Economy / Service Discussion / HashFlare/HashCoins History & Legitimacy Research on: December 18, 2017, 08:52:23 PM
Greetings,

I have started a small side project reviewing available information about HashFlare/HashCoins.

Right now, I have a single document that centralizes collected information regarding HashCoin and its sister companies. This is part of an investigation into past and current business practices, management, and hash capacity due to their general lack of transparency and communication.

Initial research document: https://github.com/JoshuaGoode/HashFlare-Research/blob/master/InitialResearch.md
Project page: https://github.com/JoshuaGoode/HashFlare-Research

Future goals of project:
  • Piece together company history
  • Review and report past and current controversies across HashCoins, HashFlare, and Polybius operations
  • Document current withdraw issues (December 2017) supposedly due to block.io and analyze their cause. Review HashFlare's response and elicit one from block.io.
  • Speculate required hash power to operate based on publicly shared contract data

Reddit Discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/hashflare/comments/7kcng9/hashcoins_hashflare_contact_history_and_data/

Find me on HashFlare related Discords (I do not mod/run these): https://discord.gg/vtGH4Wf & https://discord.gg/BjRrnZj

Best,

Joshua

Hi Tim,

I have been doing research to uncover the legitimacy of HashFlare's operation and had found that video in question not too long ago.

Many of us were under the assumption that they may be utilizing your BTCMEQC services.  HF's datacenter specs match those on ColoHub.com, we have found old blog posts that HashFlare has made about ColoHub, and it all meshed well with that video.   The video you mention however appears to be made by a third party, not HashFlare, and discusses how one could make enough money using HashFlare to pay for an expensive apartment.

Here's my information sheet regarding HashFlare/HashCoin:  https://github.com/JoshuaGoode/HashFlare-Research/blob/master/InitialResearch.md

I had already noted the usage of your original video under https://github.com/JoshuaGoode/HashFlare-Research/blob/master/InitialResearch.md#tours

Also, here's the blog post HashFlare wrote about your operations back in 2015:  https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2Fgeektimes.ru%2Fcompany%2Fhashflare%2Fblog%2F263078%2F&edit-text=&act=url

Without breaking any contractual/privacy agreements, can you confirm or deny HashFlare/HashCoin's presence at ColoHub?

Best,

Joshua
