1  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 01, 2014, 12:00:57 PM
Nothing has changed since yesterday, nor the day before. All this panic happened just because of a conversation with TAT? Jeez, wait at least until we have official response to the round of questions! ...and now 500 shares dumped? I'm not sure if someone is tryining to manipulate people to buy cheaper, or it was just the worst trading operation ever. Don't forget that when someon sells, is because someone has bought  Tongue

It's true that we all were expecting dividends, but don't you realize that this reinvestment means an increase in stock and a bigger final revenue?
I've been here since IPO, and I have more than x20 my initial investment since then due to dividends and shares; FC has my confidence.

It's likely that part of the selling is happening because of the increase in BTC/USD. It's a bad time to be in cryptostocks, especially Asicminer.
2  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 11, 2014, 08:16:47 PM
USD, RMB, or BTC - these won't have a positive ROI any way you cut it.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Synthetic gold from LENR reactors could drive crypto to insane levels on: March 06, 2014, 12:57:00 AM
This is probably not going to happen. Let me know when a good, scientifically sound, reproducible, peer-reviewed article in a major journal is published that shows LENR working and producing gold on a large scale and cost effectively.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fukushima fallout - How could it affect Bitcoin? on: January 02, 2014, 10:35:35 PM
It is a catastrophe, but not as big of one as it is made out to be. It doesn't help that TEPCO hasn't handled the situation properly, IMO.

The public has a hard time understanding the science behind these type of things, so it is easy to work people into hysterics.

Ask the average person how many people died from Chernobyl, and in general, their answer will differ drastically from the actual number.

Granted, you don't want meltdowns to occur. But this isn't going to cause "mass casualties of aquatic life in nearly every ocean and hazardous levels of background radiation along Pacific coastlines or worse."

How does Bitcoin respond, you ask? It doesn't, they are not related.

The new windows version seems to be working fine from my limited testing.

And look at these slick new icons in the linux version!

Just leave it up to me to complain about trivial things like icons, haha.

Working on updating those docs a bit.
6  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: NGCCC (colored coins): issue and trade private currencies/stocks/bonds/etc on: December 20, 2013, 01:37:00 AM
New build is available: http://www.reddit.com/r/coloredcoin/comments/1t3uyy/colored_coins_ngccc_preview_build_v002/

It now goes to testnet mode at start (when wallet.db is created), running ngccc-cli setval testnet true is no longer needed.

I have the linux version installed and running.

http://imgur.com/0xB5RmO

I will install the windows version in a bit, and then test both of them out for a bit.

EDIT: Here is a picture of four clients running in linux.

7  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] CasinoBitco.in CBTC Official Thread- ACQUISITION/OFFERING THURS! on: December 18, 2013, 10:58:30 PM
OFFICIAL UPDATE: DEC 18th, 2013

CasinoBitco.in has recently been presented the opportunity for a very exciting acquisition in the Bitcoin gambling space. This move would consolidate two powerful brands, add large player base and significant operating income (the organization in question has profited over 800 btc in total over the past several months, and continues to do well despite the rise in BTC/USD value), as well as provide CasinoBitco.in with an addition of a large number of key features (including lots of new games and community-based functions!).

The potential acquisition in question would add additional P&L and operating entities under the CBTC asset and management team. Unchanged would be our current commitment to growth and development of CasinoBitco.in itself. The advantage to both organizations involved is to leverage combined operational, marketing, and development efforts in a largely fragmented space.

We apologize for the short notice of this announcement – but we must move relatively fast to take advantage of this opportunity. With our strong recent results and the launch of our brand-new HTML5 Roulette, we find this to be the most appropriate time to release our remaining Units through HavelockInvestments.com.

We'll be raising 258.91128 BTC by offering 2,157,594 units at the current market rate of .00012. Open trading will be halted, and this offering will commence on Thursday at 12 pm EST. Any questions or inquiries are encouraged to be sent to support@casinobitco.in.

We're very excited about the opportunity and partnership this move & what the new year, 2014, may bring!

Happy Holidays, and thanks as always to our Havelock Investors.

What is the other brand with which you are planning to merge? When will the merger officially take place?
8  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] CasinoBitco.in CBTC Official Thread- NOVEMBER dividend posted! on: December 12, 2013, 10:43:49 PM
I've bought some shares. Here is some constructive criticism for the people in charge.

You need to get higher on google results. A search for "casino bitcoin" and you are second. You should be first. A search for bitcoin casino and you are ninth or so. You should be higher.

Also, in regards to the site design, I think it could slightly better. For some reason, I feel like it should be darker themed. I have no idea why I feel that way. It has a decent, functional layout, though.

Do you have any security options with the site at all? Maybe email withdrawal verification or SMS 2FA. Not everybody will use it, but it may make some people more inclined to use your site if you make it available.

Just my two cents.

What is the dependency  for the windows  version.Should I install bitcoind and sip,pyqt4 etc.Anybody can give me a guide, thank you.

I have the Windows version of Bitcoin-QT installed, which includes Bitcoind in there somewhere, I think. You'll need that and the files killerstorm posted.

Install Bitcoin-QT and then make a file entitled bitcoin.conf in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin that contains

server=1
rpcuser=rpcuser
rpcpassword=make your own password

Change the bolded items to your PC username and a password of your choosing.

Then navigate to the Bitcoin-QT folder via commmand line, or shift right click>open command window here in the Bitcoin-QT folder, and then run Bitcoin-QT with the following flags

bitcoin-qt -testnet -txindex -reindex

This should launch the Bitcoin GUI in the green colored testnet mode. Wait until it finishes the reindex.

Then, via command line, navigate to the NGCCC directory that you downloaded and use the following command to configure ngccc to use the testnet

ngccc-cli setval testnet true

Now, you should be able to launch the ngccc GUI by typing

ngccc-gui

I'll be writing up a better guide later this evening, so if this doesn't work for you, stay tuned.

Win32 build: http://killerstorm.xen.prgmr.com/alex/ngccc-0.0.1-win32.zip

Experimental. p2ptrade seems to work now, but it isn't secure. (It doesn't check that we're paid before it signs the transaction.)

Instructions are same as for Linux version: ngccc-cli setval testnet true to configure it to use testnet, and then you can use ngccc-gui.

We'll make a better release a bit later...

Got it up and running. Here is a screenshot. Haven't had time to mess around with it yet.

Ubuntu 13.10 64-Bit

If you're using Bitcoin-Qt instead of bitcoind, you need to enable RPC interface in config:

~/.bitcoin/bitcoin.conf
Code:
server=1
rpcuser=rpcuser
rpcpassword=somepasswordhere

(you might want to edit rpcpassword part). Create this file and restart bitcoin-qt. (Note that you don't need -reindex option, but you need other options... Except -daemon, it is useless in this case.)

Oh, I had the config file, just didn't have a server entry. Got it running. Now what? Sent you a PM.

Only for 64-bit Linux:

http://killerstorm.xen.prgmr.com/alex/ngccc-0.0.1-linux-x86_64-2.7.tar.bz2

p2ptrade doesn't work properly, this build is just to check whether it
works in general.

You need local bitcoind to run it.
1. on testnet, it requires txindex
2. on mainnet, it might work without txindex, but is faster with txindex

Here's how to set it up on testnet:

1. run bitcoind or bitcoin-qt with txindex, e.g:
    ./bitcoind -testnet -txindex -daemon
If you previously ran it without txindex, you need to use reindex
option one time only:
    ./bitcoind -testnet -txindex -reindex -daemon
    Wait until it downloads/reindexes blocks.

2. Configure ngcccbase to use testnet:
   ./ngccc-cli setval testnet true

4. From now you can use either command-line version:
    ./ngccc-cli --help
   Or GUI:
    ./ngccc-gui

5. If you need several instances, it's better to copy whole ngccc
directory and delete wallet.db in the copy so new wallet will be
created.
(It is also possible to use different wallet files, e.g.
./ngccc-cli -wallet=testnet.wallet, but it doesn't work properly if
you use them simultaneously due to color.db locks.)

I have no idea what I'm doing. Here is a screenshot.

Damn. Leave for a few hours and SBC skyrockets! No complaints here.

I did some branding work on this, as the currency appeals to me.

Feel free to use/disregard, contact me if you'd like anymore work doing (I do websites mainly).

What do you guys think of this?

Looks good to me! Also, do you have an ETA on the mixing service? Thanks!

Is stablecoin going to add an option to mine from GPU? I can't get it to work with CGminer.

I think they may have axed scrypt mining in the new version of cgminer, so you may want to try an older one. I'm using 3.6.6 with no problem.
Now why would they do that? Huh

No idea, actually. Maybe I should find out.

I have to say, I am very excited about this. I was in such a rush to buy Stablecoin, that this morning, instead of bringing my Scottrade brokerage check to the bank, I borrowed hard cash from a friend so that the online funds would be available to me to transfer into coinbase and into bitcoin and then into Stablecoin right away.

Needless to say, I was very surprised to see coinbase still had a 4 day wait period to purchase bitcoin, so I placed an order on localbitcoins, which I never used before, went to another bank branch (I didn't want to look awkward depositing and then withdrawing 1,000 dollars within an hour), went to the Bitcoin seller bank, and as soon as I deposited it I confirmed, and I had my bitcoin in my account by the time I came home.

Then I sent it to Cryptsy, and after 10 confirmations I still didn't have the bitcoin. Then Cryptsy started crashing and I started getting worried, and then it went offline for about 20 minutes, but came back with very fast servers. Finally, after 3 and a half hours since the initial transfer to Cryptsy, I had the bitcoin, and then sold into Stablecoin. About 90% of my order has gone through, although I no longer expect to obtain the remaining 10% at such a low price as the Cryptsy crash helped to drive prices down. Needless to say, the value increase in the past hour has netted me over $80, and I'm very happy :-D

It is my belief that the most highly valued currencies are only like such currently because of speculative name recognition, and that Stablecoin has everything necessary to be adopted for long-term use by the cryptocurrency community.

Best of luck, guys!

Cryptsy has been slow for me lately. Takes forever for deposits to go through, but they eventually do go through. Makes it a PITA sometimes.

Anyway, I like this coin. Hopefully it is all up from here. I'm pizzapower hashing away on http://stablecoin.miners-pool.eu. Hopefully I can add some more hashrate soon enough, haha.

17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Account made in August. Posted once in August. Still can't post. on: December 03, 2013, 02:02:29 AM
The title says it all. I made this account in August and made a post. I've tried several times to post since then, but I always get the error that It has been less than six minutes since my last post, but that is obviously not the case. Maybe my post wasn't "substantial" enough according to the rules.

What am I doing wrong?

With under 15 activity, you will have a 360 second time limit between each post.
Also, after you login, you also need to wait 360 second to make a post.

I wasn't aware of the 6 minutes after login rule. I didn't see that one. Must be blind. That is most likely my problem. Log in, try to post, doesn't work, come back in a couple weeks and try again. It never says I have to wait after login. Only that I need to wait after a post. Well, if this post posts, then I guess we got to the root of my problem. Thanks!

I just typed out a longer response, but it didn't post for some reason. Maybe I'm an idiot, haha.

Anyway, I think it could reach much higher if adoption picks up significantly and the government doesn't crack down.

We shall see what happens, but those two are the most important.
