i believe it depends on the how you want to earn profit, because if you choose a safe and long term profit, then using Altcoins will be much better way, because altcoins are new born recently, so they still have a long time to rise. but choosing a short term profit, trading bitcoin will be better because bitcoin fluctuative all the time, it will be the good chance to trade for traders.

that is not right to say both bitcoin and ethereum are shit coins, bitcoin can be slow or high transactions fee but its value and the profit we can earn is very huge, also ethreum is useful because rightnow there are many altcoins on the market based on ethereum platform, so as long as ethreum is used by ICOs it is still very useful in crypto market.

the most interesting about bitcoin to me is the price, i never know how high will bitcoin rise in the future but the price will keep rising more and more due to more people want to own bitcoin nowadays.

i do know there are many altcoins on the market but just few of them can be called stable like ripple and ethereum, ripple is stable because it has its own platform fast and cheap fee, ethreum is more useful to investors around the world so it has large commnunity supporters to control the price steadily, however its price can be effected badly by bitcoin price.

to my opinion only, i think bitcoin rise too much because the need for bitcoin has risen too much just in this year, also people with big source of money is buying very much bitcoin making it price more expensive, the shortage of bitcoin will rise its price more and more.
