1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus RX 5600 XT 6 GB DUAL EVO TOP - Samsung memory - unlocked/modded BIOS? on: March 19, 2021, 11:26:21 AM
UPDATE:

A week ago I completed the rig (only AMD GPUs), it has 5x Asus Dual RX 5600 XT Evo Top and 1x MSI RX 5600 XT Gaming X.
I’m using HiveOS and Phoenix Miner 5.5c for mining.

For the ASUS (Samsung+Micron) memory cards I use bios mods from bitbu.ru. Just changed some values:
• the minimum voltage to 700 from the MorePowerTool (https://ibb.co/kcPpMnS)
• changed the tREF timings to 9900 from the RBE, and saved a new rom file (https://ibb.co/kcPpMnS)

For the MSI Micron memory card, I use the mod from this Red Panda video. (https://youtu.be/7n4X3YGtNCk).

I’ve been testing a lot of clocks and voltages, but still can’t find the right solution. I thought that the rig is stable, it was stable for 24 hours and a card crashed, then 2 hours later another one crashed… and so on. Last night I even got 50 invalid shares on one of the Micron cards. This thing AMAZES me, how it’s possible after a stable 24 hours…suddenly it starts crashing cards randomly one after another. Also, as you can see on the HiveOS screenshot, I get “GPU driver error, no temps”…
About the power consumption, currently the rig drains 595 W from the wall. If we take out 50 W for the system, that leaves us at 545, which makes 90.8 W per card.
I have these questions:

1. Can the problems be from the bios mods I use?
2. Should I try the same overclocks with Team Red Miner?
3. Can you guide me further for the oveclocks values in order to achieve a stable rig?

I’m attaching a screenshot of the current situation inside the HiveOS. Thanks a lot!

Take a look at some useful things to do in your BIOS:

Here's my two cents on your dilemma:

Two months ago, mid January, I started researching the mining opportunities, and sometime later decided to buy 6 x 5600 XTs. The whole mining rig is $4300, around $600 per card and around $600 for the other parts.
Yes, I do realise that I paid almost twice the msrp. I bought all the cards from ebay.de, because I live in Bulgaria and here the prices of everything were in the sky. Five of the cards are new, one is used for a while. So, with a lot of sleepless nights, reading, watching videos and learning - now I've been mining for 2 weeks with 3 of the GPUs. On Tuesday, hopefully I will receive my remaining GPUs, so the rig will start working fully the next week. I just need to flash the BIOSes and do some overclocking.

I know that there's a huge risk in this investment nowadays, but for me it's worth the time and money. I like this process, it's fun and challenging, and I regret that I did not start earlier, say 4-5 years ago...

So, my suggestion to you is - do your own research and calculations, and make it worth to you. Smiley

Good luck, mate!  BTC

Reduce core to 1250-1300 and memory to 900(1800).
If the farm will not restart, then increase these values.
Try to test on a teamredminer.
When patching the upgraded BIOS, any problems may arise: The video output may stop working or the video card will turn into a brick.
Better to customize your graphics card yourself.

Thanks! The miner is still stable (after 31 hours) on my pic's config, you can check it in my post. If it crashes I will try your suggestion.
I already tested Teamredminer, it's not stable as well.

get the name of ur bios
115-D182PI0-100 is the name for my asus 5600xt
then search for that with mod included
some dude compiled the majority of navi unlocked roms
i used the exact bios for my cards which helped
same with dude above mod everything urself just use the unlocked bios and copy everything over to it
i had problems with their TREF settings

my asus strixx samsung does still crash randomly with any bios mod ive tried
seems to run a lil better at 920-925 on memory than max
i get a lil longer in between reboots
u must be running phoenix? to get 43+ at 920
maybe try another miner

also u can run all the way down to 1100 on core at 700mV
might give u a bit more stability
setting VDDCI to 800 can help
but going lower u will run into problems
i used to get stability with MVDD at 1325 but with TRM config b it doesnt seem to do anything nor be enough to drop wattage

Thanks for the reply! Smiley
My BIOS's name is: 115-D189P00-100, so the same. Where to search for mods?
I know that Phoenix miner inflates a bit the hashrate, but I'm okay with that.
Tried with VDDCI 750 and MVDD 1300, wasn't stable. Now it seems stable for the past 31 hours with the same clocks I posted in the original topic. You can check the link with pic.
I want to lower the watt power draw more. More like 43.5 h/s for 85 watts.

Hello, guys!

I've got my first 3 GPU's for the rig, all of them are Asus RX 5600 XT 6 GB DUAL EVO TOP.
One of them is with Micron memory, I tried the BIOS mod from RedPanda's video.
The other two GPUs are with Samsung memory... tested some BIOS mods, but the rig is very unstable and reboots randomly. Can anyone help me with a good BIOS mod for the Samsung memory? My hashrates are around 43.3 for 95 W.
My problem is that maybe I haven't already nailed the overclocks and I'm still testing for the right ones. The Phoenix miner reboots from time to time, it can be 20 mins, 5 hours, 16 hours or even after 24 hours.
I can provide the stock BIOS if needed.

Attaching a pic of the HiveOS interface:

Thanks in advance!  Smiley

Hello all!
Started mining DGB (Skein) 7 days ago and almost configured everything to work perfectly. My GPU is 1080TI Seahawk X. Do you think it can perform better? Do I need to make a fixed difficulty or leave it changing? I get 50-70 invalid shares per hour.
