has anybody been looking at this https://miningpoolstats.stream/magi??? currently as we speak its 140 MH/s told me when the global hash rate reaches over 100 MH/s 46-51% of it is "unknown" so it looks like there's a big whale mining hahaha did someone crack it to mine with those antminers? or those now outdated bitman miners that use scrypt since LTC coin and BTC are now haved and harder to POW mining its like everybody going over to alt coins such as DOGE or TRTL. to keep their mining rigs in the mix..... all i know is if these coins keep halfing we going to see a huge drop in BTC price and people on reddit are saying that this could be the end for cryptocurrency since the US are forcing banks to stop with anything cryptocurrency The way that I look at it is if people with all these multi-thousand dollar mining rigs want to make money, they will find a way to make it work. As for the future of magicoin? That's hard to tell. I'm just coming back around to the coin, so I'm assuming the Vitalik_Pedik thing is over with. Can someone give me the tl;dr? |

I'm certainly in the same camp as you, wouldn't sell (funds that are not earmarked for liquidity trading) at this price - did once or twice and always regretted it a few months later
I totally stopped mining and earn most of my magi through trading, second through staking
I'm just looking to get out of Cryptocurrency for the time being. I start college next week for a degree in computer science, and I don't need anything potentially distracting me. Plus, I made the mistake spending just under $25 USD on VPSes to mine on. I've only made back less than a quarter of what I've spent, and I need some time to lick my wounds, so to speak. |

It has 995 confirmations for now... and its not in my balance in cryptopia
did you see warning @ Cryptopia? WARNING! Please do not mine to your Cryptopia addresses, We do not support transactions from pools like P2Pool etc. Don't send direct from pool to Cryptopia... it'll not accept. I never do that, i send it from my wallet, not directly from mining You worded it as if you had Minerclaim deposit your balance from their pool into a Cryptopia wallet for sale on their market. |

I think the difficulty should be adjusted in such a way that blocks value never gets below say 10 XMG, this will lead to more guys prefering solo mining and pools like pom rather than minerclaim.
The moment a fixed difficulty is set on PoW OR PoS is the day I simultaneously quit MagiCoin mining and start shit-talking it to everyone who'd listen. That is by-far the worst thing that could happen to this coin, and trust me- This coin has seen a lot of ups and downs... Mainly downs. |

Strange... xpoolx has a KH/S limiting rule, but computersaint just got over 50% of the block reward and sent almost 2 million shares for block 1828623. He has to be well over 250 KH/S.

I think it's safe to say that the network is back to normal... well, as normal as it'll get. It's probably safe to change " listen=0" back to " listen=1" in everyone's magi.conf. I did, and I'm matched up with CryptoID. Think another contributing factor was sites like Supranova (and others) dropping XMG from their list of mining pools, Most of those miners jumped over to Minerclaim, So instead of a lot of large and small "pooled hashrates" competing for blocks we've got a single huge pool dominating the coin at the moment. Hopefully as things settle down a few more pools will either come back or be created and start to pick of miners from Minerclaim. (One can only hope!)  I think it'll take an act of a higher power to get people to move their miners away from Minerclaim. Unfortunately, Minerclaim is where the money's at. That's why I'm tossing all my hashpower at it. I might switch over to some other pool as soon as I have enough balance to start staking, but for now, I just have to keep chipping away at it. |

From a web-sec standpoint, I feel awful for Minerclaim getting DDOSed, but at the same time I kinda don't. As people pointed out, when Minerclaim was getting hit, people started to pack up and move to xPoolx, which is great. We need more pools that a) actually enforce hashrate limits, and b) bring back a small degree of fairness to this chaotic coin.

In trying to get staking going on my wallet, I sent my entire balance to myself, thinking that would give me enough weight to start staking... I should've read the Magi whitepaper a little closer...
At least you know what you are doing. The FAQ of the Op page does answer the question on "Not enough weight." What's the effect when you sent the entire balance to yourself? Did that cause "resetting staking from scratch"? All the mPoW/mPoS features of XMG look great but apparently too complicated, likely limited to use by (mining/staking) oldie(s) and hard to convert the public to use this crypto, despite that XMG " strives for every single effort to make mining be available to everyone, and provides an even playing field for people." Any simple summary tables of what to do, what would happen, etc. in running "mPoW/mPoS of XMG" would be great.  I believe that the older the wallet balance is, the higher weight it carries. After you reach a certain weight, you can start staking on it. When I sent the entirety of the wallet to myself, it made the balance brand-new. When I had done it, it said "Expected time to earn reward is 72 day(s).", but now it reads "Expected time to earn reward is 19 day(s)". |

i have done longer mines in the past with very similar results. To see your electricity isnt going to waste yes.
The power consumption of my 9 SBCs (8 miners and 1 wallet) is less than a kW daily (between 0.7 and 0.9 kW). So long as a small-ish pool averages ~0.5 xmg daily, electricity is paid for... Actually it's less than that, but I prefer a little buffer to account for market price swings. your lucky to even get a half to a quarter that. I was going to say that with remote miners (Google IaaS, Amazon EC2, DigitalOcean, etc.), I don't pay for electricity... but I remembered that the price of electricity is included in my bill. |
