Here is an intriguing thing about this theory.  If we get it working, for files that use no splitting internally (maybe 500 MB or less) there would only be one crypto key.  If you could remember it in your head, you wouldn't even need any file!  Our program will have a crypto key direct entry mode.  You type in the crypto code from memory and your file is restored.  Why?  For total legal security of your documents!

Under American law, if you go through the airport, anything you carry with you like your computer can be legally opened and searched.  If you put your iphone inside of a metal box with a key, that key can be demanded by the government because its physical.  But the law at this time won't allow the government to force you to give the contents of your mind.  So if you use a lock that requires a password, they can't make you give them the password by law.  Imagine zipping your top secret documents and then compressing them using our software.  Let's say your files are 450 megs, and our software's cut-off point for a single crypto key is 500 MBs.  So you get your crypto key, easily memorize it, and now you are carrying the entire 450MB file IN YOUR MIND.  Its like Johnny Mnemonic, only better, because all that data isn't actually in your mind!  When you go through the airport, you don't even need your computer, the top secret files are in your mind, safe from badguys, safe from the law should they try to use it against you.

So then you get to where you are going, download our software onto any computer you want, and use the "crypto key direct entry" mode and type in your crypto key following the format (x.yyyyy.z) and your document is recreated out of the ether for you!

It sounds like science fiction, but it just makes me feel exhilerated beyond words!  I can't wait to see this work.  It will be a true marvel.

That is science fiction.
I download your program, zip and encrypt my 487MB files, and memorize the crypto key of xxx.yyyyyyyyy.zz.
That's now all on my laptop. It's safe. It's secure. It's not going anywhere.
When I reach my destination, I cannot simply download your program to any computer and type in my key. The information is stored on my laptop 1500 miles away. Not on your server. And if my laptop is powered down with the battery removed, then the information is completely cold/offline, and impossible to retrieve from a distance.

I would suggest seeing a psychiatrist. That is a professional opinion.

It might be that I'm using an older, weak computer with an outdated version of IE (I'm at work), but that captcha is taking forever to load!
But I'll be sure to add this to my portfolio of websites to grind through.
Thanks for the link!

They don't exist?
I just typed in the URL and got nothing back.

I have a lot of free time at work, so I grind out the faucets.
That's the best place for n00bz like us to start.
It's time consuming, but if you only have time to kill, I say why not?

I don't know.
Maybe it's because it's 0200 here and I'm a bit tired, but there's something that just doesn't quite sit with me.

You say you're not a programmer, or have any knowledge of computer sciences, but yet claim to be able to compress and encrypt gigabytes of data instanteously.
I believe you also said that you have been able to do this already and can reproduce the results at will. Then you go on to say that it's all just a theory.

I'm seeing too many contradictions here to believe that you have even the simplest idea of what to do. I don't doubt for one second that you believe this is possible. Unfortunately, I don't believe this feat of engineering is even possible.

Best of luck to you on getting a team together on this.

The time to mine was (apparently) 2 years ago before everyone and their brother started hoarding ASIC and GPU miners. Your best now is to invest and hit the faucets.

I don't know about every faucet, but if you start at GreenCoins.org, it'll run you through 17 other faucets.
Can be done once every 30 minutes. You'll get a few uBTCs, but it's not a bad way to grind.

No, I haven't. I've just been looking for the free stuff like faucets (bitcats.net) and giveaway sites like dailybitcoins.org.
But then again, I'm broke and can't afford to invest for the time being, so I have to grind. Sad
But yeah, most places are backlogged with orders. Especially the bigger places like Butterfly Labs.
As for hashing contracts, I'm not sure how they work and can't comment on them.

I've been perusing this forum for a while and the general consensus seems to be that mining no longer gives you a return on investment (ROI). I'd suggest taking half of your stash and buying Bitcoins from Mt. Gox or another trusted source like that.
