1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FurPay The furry cryptocurrency. on: August 13, 2015, 01:41:06 AM
Is the coin technically innovative in any way, or is it just an altcoin for pet lovers?

Fur is murder

Seeing such innocence is really touching. I didn't think it was possible for someone to be on the internet and not know what furries are. I would say google it, but some things you can't unsee. Smiley

That's the most likely explanation. The first one just went through after 2 hours, so whew.
3  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: January 14, 2015, 05:01:25 PM
I did a withdraw of bitcoins 90 minutes ago and it still says "processing". Usually it's instant. I'll try not to panic. Smiley I tried doing a 2nd withdrawal just to see if it was a fluke, but that one is stuck too. I lost an opportunity thanks to this, but that's my bad for assuming they broadcast withdrawals immediately like they usually do.

I miss the good old days when the dev was rubbing syrup on himself.

Ninja post-mine.

??

PS: we are back at 1.3ghs

It should be assumed that anyone posting here is just making jokes. But apparently I failed if I have to explain it.
Ninja pre-mine is when you mine them all at the start, so I made the joke that they were all being ninja mined at the end. It sucks that I have to explain jokes, I will try harder to be funnier in the future.

I'm still tweeting, but I just noticed this:

Quote
limited to 10.000 RIPO for the next 24 hours

Not sure if that was a typo and should have been a comma, or if its a humorous way of ripping us off. Smiley

I like how I dumped all my coins at 500 satoshi and now its at 2000 satoshi. I guess the best thing to do would be to buy them all back. I mean it can only keep going up forever, right?

Maybe they will let you claim the ProofOfStupidity™ reward for buying Ripoffcoin at a high price, and they can give you more Ripoffcoins? It says "another scamcoin" which Ripoffcoin is! I'm calling my lawyer that I don't have, it's time to get paid!

Don't underestimate the power of irony.

See the links and what I said the groups do, they get their followers to pump (which means buy), and the hope is that people think something is going on and buy into it also before all the pumpers dump.

I just realized people might not know what I mean by pump groups. here's a few examples.

http://cryptopump.com/
https://twitter.com/CryptoPumpGroup
https://twitter.com/PumpitLoud

They pick a coin at random, and get their followers to buy a ton, then sell a minute later.

We should get one of those twitter pump groups to hit RIPO.

I hadn't looked at this before, but https://ripo.maxminers.net has 96% of the hashrate. OHNOES!! Time to panic sell before they doublespend all of those precious Ripoffcoins!
Actually, I hope they do, that would be hilarious!

If there is ever merch for this coin, I would like a small bag with the logo on the side, with the text "proud bagholder" on the side.

Here ya go: http://www.zazzle.com/ripo_bag-256911327634060622  Grin

I just realized, if I try to take that on a flight, I'm probably going to have a bad time with the TSA. Smiley

17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Abe 0.7: Open Source Block Explorer Knockoff on: July 08, 2014, 01:21:25 AM
I'm setting up Abe for Gabencoin just for fun.
It is a scrypt coin, and I have the litecoin_scrypt module installed from https://github.com/CryptoManiac/bitcoin-abe.

When it tries to load the data it stops immediately with this error:

Code:
MerkleRootMismatch: Block header Merkle root does not match its transactions. block hash=c012dbbcf46d3fcf17e4d66292775c5e34e54df16c3c62d45af2917435080000

I don't even know what that means, does it think the data is corrupt? I tried deleting my copy of the blockchain and let it fully sync up again, then turned off the daemon, but I still get that error right away.

My config:

Code:
datadir = [{
        "dirname": "/home/gabencoin/.gabencoin",
        "chain":   "Gabencoin",
        "code3":   "GBN",
        "address_version": "\u0010" }]

In case the address_version is wrong, an example address is 7nAd9jmuvgxtzmSLJFirWCTyoYguf5mA9k and I believe that is version 10 in hex.

I'm not even sure what else to look at.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GBN] GABENCOIN - GABE NEWELL COINS on: July 03, 2014, 01:18:40 AM
This doesn't look good, I think I'm the only miner (I'm solo mining it with a pitiful 230kh/s) on the network, I could do a 100% attack and doublespend.

IMO you guys should just reset and start over because it never really took off.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GBN] GABENCOIN - GABE NEWELL COINS on: July 02, 2014, 04:14:33 AM
I went to check on this coin, and I started mining it again just for fun. I know something is wrong when I can solo mine it with an older GPU at 300khash and get a few blocks after 5 minutes. I don't care if this ended up being a shitcoin, this is like another summer sale. Tongue
20  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: CoinSwap: Transaction graph disjoint trustless trading on: June 28, 2014, 05:11:24 PM
Just bumping this real quick. This might actually become a thing if coinvalidation takes off. Trade tainted coins for clean ones. Ideally coinvalidation will just fade away like a fart, but in case it doesn't, coinswap!

I came up with the idea, on reddit, then someone pointed out this thread here where it was already done.
