Hi Alphi, the hash will be keccak just like Maxcoin, its sha3 so its rather efficient, also includes Kimoto Gravity Well (which I've always been keen on). All the numbers the same as Maxcoin although some changes to qt stuff for the gui users. Stacy nailed it when she described us as "making Stacycoin out of Maxcoin's ribs" (On their radio show: Truth about Markets) - Algo: Keccak (SHA-3) (there's actually alot more to this than meets the eye)
- How many coins: 250,000,000
- Block time: 30 seconds
- Block reward: 96 MaxCoin per block, halving every ~12 months
- Difficulty: Retargeting using Kimoto Gravity Well algorithm

Can I ask who are these people?
Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert (They got married last year I think) I'd say they have done more from crypto and for educating people about financial corruption than anyone else. Really nice people and they have covered many interesting subjects. Making this GPU proof is simple. Make it a primecoin fork with low starting difficulty around 7.0 or less. This will allow everyone with lower end cpus a chance at finding a block before the difficulty gets too high and favors only the overclocked i7's

no it wont.. all it will do is give a botnet operator a very good chance at taking most of the coins. Yup  So, why support this pricks? If you'll make the coin easy mineable at laptops, suckers with botnets will take it. If you'll make GPU coin - GPU farmers will be first etc etc I believe the only "fair" algorythm is PoS, and it makes sense. You believe in this coin? Then buy it and you'll have more and more! Hey, we're keeping the algo and code pure from MAX, its a little challenging on the build side as keccak is quite new but PoS (and I'm a big PPC fan) is not really part of the scheme I'm afraid sorry |

Kinda ruined my evening having to get up at 3-4 am to point this stuff out :/
I copy cat called a copy cat "copy cat!" while they were copying different cat... how ironic.. if you don't wan't be kept up all night and actually get paid for your work... I suggest you try to do something original instead of copying other people and hoping someone doesn't copy them before you... and if miners like me don't want to be kept up all night.. maybe we shouldn't bother with shitty copycat launches too. Seriously.. If this dude was actually able to "copy cat" the MAX code and he built windows binaries I would be very impressed mate. Our coin has also got patches that will be going upstream soon (just by the way, I would gladly consider allowing access the the gitub ( which is older than this one if you don't believe me). ...additionally Stacycoin will have some surprises in store only Stacy and our team know about yet, things UNIQUE in the crypto world, uncommited to github yet ;-) I've not seen anything actually interesting about this coin and its source is far more established than what I'm working with. I invite you to run a diff or at least learn about maxcoin/keccak (RSA, SSL) This is just pure name-trolling, trying to capitalise off our name and/or tarnish Stacy's name I can only assume. .. call me old fashioned but I also was raised to dislike, distrust and fight liers ( like this dodgy StacyCoin user) |

P lease make sure there is a faucet for us poorer peeps lol working hard to collect coin and do some giveaways even if there is no premining.  Well because we're not pre-mining I'm not sure how I could fund a faucet. I will look into it though, maybe we can get donations or something... I do get your point, I'm one of the poorer peeps also I spent most of my #MAX getting some of the code they/we need bountied btw |

DAMN whaa great ideassss if its not scryot i willl have to kill myslef ..i love scrypt coins so much i keep changing my forum name and making clone of Tenebrix is it hard to make anew coin ? does yoooo need a good reason or can it just be teh same as teh coin you copied with adifferent name and icon  ? man yooooour smart cna i learnz dfrom yoo ? i think this will be the same as max but apparently better, as maxcoin has been out for a while their are qt wallets and compiled gpu miners available. i still cant understand why the maxcoin devs gave everyone the masters to compile them selves within an hour of the launch, i personally couldnt get it all working in time.  so if their is a gpu miner available prior to launch everyone can test it first on a maxcoin pool so they know its working. pools ready at the launch would be a bonus too.  Yes we will not release untill we have all the required stuff ready, windows gui wallets, stratum code, cgminer all of it I've even got a few minor MAX patches in the pipeworks. Work is going pretty well, been working with Stacy on some idea's we can't make public (yet). A Virus? You must be kidding, it's the official darkcoin miner which StacyCoin's algo uses. You don't seem to be a developer since you clearly didn't analyze the files and merely post senseless fud. Check Darkcoin thread for 100% same minerd files (same repo even).
Trying to derail the smooth launch and flawlessly working assets won't help. Be well and welcome to the world of decentralized cryptocurrency.
Ps. Calling StacyCoin name-trolling is funny - the smoothly working coin is right here in front of your eyes. Sources and binaries available for anyone to analyze.
Anyone can have public source code dude. I can confirm my code's been in git-hub for almost 5 days now I believe. When I uploaded the Windows-Qt zip to Virus Total I got 0/50. Can someone please confirm? Some posted a 23/50 earlier...
I ran minerd through Virus Total and I got 24/49. I'm not sure if that's just minerd setting off alarm bells everywhere it goes though. Its 03:43 AM here and I need to sleep  While I don't dispute the fact that they're not the true StacyCoin devs, I don't think their version of the miner is a virus only because I ran Quark's 64bit version of minerd through Virus Total and got almost the same results. Hm, well, I didn't download any of the standalone miners - just the wallet. Either this a 1) purely a troll release 2) something malicious somewhere (Windows-Qt.zip came back clean through, don't know about other files) 3) total confusion, maybe a dev though Stacy was just actively looking for someone to develop and release a coin Definitely odd considering everything worked right away. The wallet loaded. It connected to the network and updated very quickly. And it solo mined, and I even found a block, which was shortly confirmed after. Someone sent me a donation too so transactions were working. Such odd. So confusion. Yop this is official name-trolling (with the objective of getting your wallets I assume!!) Don't trust virus checks anyway man.. polymorphic code generators work very well! Trust me anyone can make undetectable virii by watching tutorials youtube.. EG http://dl.packetstormsecurity.net/papers/attack/metasploit-lowlevel.pdfI can confirm that its 100% not a dev from Team Stacy (@stacycoin on twitter / tracycoin.com ), I'm the only one with the current source and this is entirely fake whatever it is. Just to confirm this is a FAKE STCY
StacyCoin was approved by Stacy and has been designed to confirm to her requests. This is not a brainless Maxcoin clone but a gem, like Stacy. Currently mined at ~30MH/s. When are you devs ever going to figure out that cpu mining in the Botnet Realm is as pointless as launching an SHA256 in the ASIC world.
Coin is both CPU and GPU minable, check main thread. Thanks for your support. This is an utter lie I invite people to please observe timestamps of twitter accounts and forum threads for now. Stacy will settle this tomorrow on twitter, kinda convenient to launch at 1-2 AM UK time huh? |
