1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ELLI] Elliotcoin - Triple level of anonymity|PoW/PoS/MN and mobile app on: April 01, 2018, 01:16:56 PM
Has anyone been able to get the MacOS wallet to work?  It got as far as downloading the blockchain and then crashed on me.  Then everytime I try to restart the application it crashes.  I've tried launching all of the files in the download folder.

Link for the Mac Wallet on elliotproject.org takes you to a directory that doesn't have a download for a Mac (just Windows & Linux).  Is one in the works or is this just an oversight?

Edit:  Link for the Mac Wallet on the bitcointalk.org Announcement page is broken too.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how GPU's are distributed? on: February 05, 2018, 11:44:18 PM
I think most people are under the belief this will be a quick dip and therefore "look at the long horizon".  If it doesn't come back in a couple weeks (I personally don't think it will) then we will start to see an impact in GPU prices.  For a while there, people could buy miners on a credit card, start a farm, and then repay the debt with cash flow generated..... well that isn't happening at the moment.  This will take a number of people out of the market.

I, unfortunately, bought some expensive cards as the prices were rising.  I was in a hurry to finish the rig and ended up 1 card short.  I'm in a holding pattern at this point and will be waiting for the crypto prices to impact the GPU prices.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zclassic, Zcash Fork No Premine, No 20% Founders Tax on: January 28, 2018, 01:10:29 PM
Here's a quick summary of the 4 people that posted actual results in the last 2 pages of this thread.

Suprnova | 3600 sol/s | .205 ZCL per 24 hours | 0.000057 ZCL per sol in 24 hours | Shitnoff
MPH | 5300 sol/s | .275 ZCL per 24 hours | 0.000052 ZCL per sol in 24 hours | MrTDHP
MPH | 4800 sol/s | .226 ZCL per 24 hours | 0.000047 ZCL per sol in 24 hours | dempsey1200
MPH | 25000 sol/s | 1.50 ZCL per 24 hours | 0.000060 ZCL per sol in 24 hours | amalkey

Obviously, this isn't enough data to come to any meaningful conclusions but there's quite a disparity in efficiency.  The only thing I can think of is using different mining programs and maybe timing of some block awards.  I might try out Suprnova pretty soon.

I got 0.0263 ZCL outta 10 hours of mining with 2 1080ti's... is this reward considered as normal?

Also, the gpu's are loaded just by 90%, using this string:
nheqminer.exe -cd 0 1 -t 0 -l europe.zclassic.miningpoolhub.com:20575 -u login.workername -p password

You should get about 0.08 per day.  So for 10 hrs, 0.0263 seems to be low...

0.0263 x (24/10) = 0.063

You are getting only about 75% of what you should. Depends on miner, pool, luck, other variables.

EWBF is best and MPH pool

Hey Ama.  Curious to know where you are getting your 0.08 per day benchmark.  I've been mining ZCL for a couple days now with 1080TI's and if your benchmark is correct, my results are dreadful.  I'm using SMOS with MPH.  The last 24 hours payout is 0.197 with 6 miners.  That's less than 50% of your benchmark!!!

There are 2 rigs and combined are running around 4800 sol/s.  I'm using the dstm-v0.5.8 miner but would be hard-pressed to believe it's 50% less efficient.

Anyone else have any real-world results they can share?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 23, 2018, 12:30:28 PM
Hello.  I've been using SMOS for a few days and have decided to stick with it.

Does anyone know how or if you can export or look at the Miner Console log?  I'd like to go through the history of the hashings, particularly through the night.  Exporting the data would be ideal that way people could complete some analysis on their GPU tuning with actual history.

You can transfer your Bitcoins to another wallet preliminarily and then enter your private key in our wallet.

Ok.... so this is the scam they're trying to play.  They want you to give them your Private Keys so they can steal your coins.  I get it now.  I think alot of people are about to learn a difficult lesson in crypto's Wild Wild West environment

Ok.  So I'm brand new in the crypto world and have been studying it for a week.  I have a banking/finance background and have deep experience in evaluating management teams.

Some big "red flags" here:

1) This fork would be a massive change.  Every major exchange would have alot of "pain" resolving the fork and would have to prepare for the event.  The fact that the biggest exchanges are not talking about this, nor a lot of internet chatter is enough to discredit this.

2) Any management team of a fork this large would be well known and well publicized.  This marketing manager that no one knows and is new to the community is very, very concerning.  Sure, you can be pretty and smart but there is NOTHING about her experience.  If she's in marketing, she would be on here (and everywhere for that matter) to get their message out.  Doing a background search on the Szabo is equally concerning, although for other reasons.

3) This is minor but the website feels very suspicious.  From the URL to the partners.... there is very little to inspire confidence.  3 people on the steering committee?  No papers or research conclusions?  No discussion about support from miners?  The FAQ is 5 questions and barely not a single technical question.

Now.... my question to the community since I'm new... How does a scam like this benefit the people running it?  Create a fake altcoin, issue thousands (their free giveaway), and then hope the limited exchanges give it a pump for them to sell?  This really brings into question the validation process for their "partner" exchanges.
