1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZANO] New Sources|1st ProgPowZ|PoW/PoS Hybrid|Scalable|Private|Contracting on: May 20, 2019, 12:07:59 AM
What are some hash rates you guys are seeing?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Zano on: March 22, 2019, 12:03:41 AM
You guys do realize that wildkeccak already has fpga miners in development for it, right? I dont see a scenario where they wont be made for a v2 either.

Regardless of power consumption, your gpus arent going to compete with fpga's. either way if zano is profitable enough theres more incentive for them to be created and a good chunk of the network will belong to a select few with the knowlege and resources to make/obtain them.

Just some food for thought.

Looks like an AMD miner is out although I haven't had a chance to test the speeds on it, if anyone with AMD cards wants to report back to the community that would be awesome!

https://cryptomining-blog.com/10360-new-zjazz-1-2-amd-and-nvidia-miner-with-support-for-merit-bitcash-and-suqa/

Unfortunately i think this might be misinformation (not from you but crypto mining blog). The miner stated on the site doesnt seem to support merits mining algorithm. Though, there is a linux only amd miner listed under "cuda experimental" that i cant speak for. Says that if it performs well it could be implemented in the main branch.. that could be the one they meant. Do correct me if im wrong.

Funny that was brought up though as i was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their cycles/s with their processors. With as many as there are on the market im curious at the performence of some of them.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [PSA] Never Let Strangers Setup Your Masternode [HIJACKING COINS] on: May 10, 2018, 01:26:05 AM
While this is definitely a good heads up, I think its unfortunate that it has to even be made aware. The inherent purpose of cryptocurrencies is to be your own and do it yourself.

I dont have any, but i do know that in order to setup a masternode, you have to place a private key into the configuration file. If you need help and have to have someone else do that for you, you're trusting that the person helping you doesn't save that information and take advantage of the fact that you dont know what you're doing.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: An blackout can kill a mining rig??? on: May 02, 2018, 12:14:00 AM
"Tripp Lite" serves its purpose.
It has to be strong enough to support your rig?  How many joules does that Tripplite claim to 'absorb'?  Hundreds?  Thousand?  Potentially destructive surges can be hundreds of thousands of joules.  How is a near zero Tripplite strong enough?

As others have accurately noted, blackouts do not harm hardware.  Surges occur maybe once every seven years.  If a surge does exist, then everything (most that are less robust) must be protected.  Protection is also desperately needed for a dishwasher, dimmer switches, furnace, LED & CFL bulbs, refrigerator, door bell, recharging electronics, garage door opener, GFCIs, central air, every smoke detector and that near zero joule Tripplite.   How many have been damaged by surges this week?

Blackouts do not damage electronics.  Brownouts may be problematic for motorized appliances.  120 volt appliances, before PCs existed,  would withstand up to 600 volt transients.  Many electronics today are not damaged by thousands.  But everything remains at risk if one has not properly earthed a 'whole house' solution.  Only that has numbers that define actual protection.  Tripplite clearly does not.  So that recommendation did not include the always required spec numbers.

Protectors do nothing for blackouts or brownouts.  Each is a completely different anomaly.  Did solutions exist for each anomaly.  Obviously, any recommendation must also include spec numbers that say why it works and by how much.

Yes, strong enough to support the rig. As i said if you're pushing too much power through an underrated surge protector or power strip it will pop the breaker in it. That's moving backward at that point.

A middle of the road tripp lite protector is good to the ball park of 1500~ joules, and yes as you said, if lightning strikes too close it doesnt matter what type of protection you have, anything is going to get fucked regardless. While the topic is about blackouts and equipment, surge protectors are good for other reasons beyond that.
Surge spikes by running too much power at the wall, old houses and out of date wiring, could help prevent fires. Not everyone lives in a modern society where every house or building they enter is up to date in wires and electrical circuits and breakers. (Even in the states)

Sometimes i leave a little wiggle room for an inquirer to do their own reaserch, so pardon my lack of "spec numbers".

Even under bitmains list of reasons of voided warranty it's stated:
"b. Damage caused by poor power supply, lightning or voltage surges;"

So if your home or facility faces any of the problems i stated above and you tell bitmain "i lost power during a thunderstorm and my rig doesn't work anymore" they're gonna tell you to kick rocks.

You seem very well versed in this area (much more than i am). While protection against close lightning strikes is damn near impossible, there are a number of reasons they are necessary and saying they're not is like saying that since its not 100% guaranteed a condom will prevent inception of offspring and contraction of STD's, im not wearing one at all.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: An blackout can kill a mining rig??? on: May 01, 2018, 01:28:21 AM
You need a good surge protector bud. It has to be strong enough to support your rig though, otherwise the surge protector itself will trip and cut your computer off.

Just make sure that you know how many watts your setup pushes and make sure that the one you get is well within it's range and you're golden.
OK, I get it, But you know a good surge protector model?

"Tripp Lite" serves its purpose.

P.S
No ive got 4 gigs of ram. The wallet did start giving me issues and i had to get into regedit and change some settings, its been fine since.

BBR uses a huge amount of ram, around 6GB on my system. So at least you have to use swap space, but better have a system with a minimum of 8GB mem.

This RAM issue will be resolved soon.  The LMDB development and testing is progressing ahead of schedule and the implementation has started.

https://github.com/cryptozoidberg/boolberry/commit/d32bf035d2bf89ff459cfacb6c3bfe5dd7336568

We are working on a detailed medium post to give an update to the community, which should be posted in the coming week.

Cheers!

I do remember reading that the minimum requirements are 4 gigs. In the past i never  had issues but recently, before the wallet could sync, it would crash and tell me that windows was low on memory. I made some configuration changes in regedit and it functions as it did before.

Its laggy but it works. That said, i have been looking forward to the new LMDB. It will smooth everything out and make for a better user experience.

Edit:
Hashappliance,  i seriously cant thank you enough. Thanks for being apart of the community and what you do for boolberry. Thanks again, and best wishes to you as well!
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed Since 2014 on: April 01, 2018, 12:02:18 AM
Ive got myself a bit of a problem. Last night i fired up and sanc my wallet to make sure my mining rewards were coming in. Everything was fine and i left it running over night.

Well windows decided to update over night while my wallet was open. So this morning i fire it back up and the blockchain loads but i get an error openeing my key file.
I think the os updating while the wallet was open messed something up and now i cant access my 1650 bbr..

@crypto_zoidberg, is there any advise or possibility of regaining acess to my coins?
@1blockologist, when i search "corrupted" in the thread i see a post of yours stating that you were getting the same error. Did you fix it? and what did you do to fix it?

Any advice is appreciated. I didnt make a back up.. what is worse is i didnt even do this myself... windows just goes ahead a does whatever it pleases whenever it wants..

Try copying the .keys file to a new folder and open the .keys file which will rebuild the wallet file.  If you have an error it would have corrupted the wallet file not the .keys file.  I think the issue that 1block was having was on OSX.  Are you running windows or mac?  I imagine you have 8gb of ram?

Oh my goodness! Thank you so much! That worked.
I didnt even think of that. I seriously thought that i was out of my boolberry. I love this coin. Through thick and thin ive held on. Ive felt devastated all day..
Thank you!

The wallet is rebuilding now. If you'd like, pm me a your bbr address. You most definitely deserve a tip. Once its done rebuilding ill send it your way.

anyone mining solo? 3 days with 3x1080 ti and 5x1070 ti and I didn't find any blocks !! last week I found 5 blocks in the same time period

Variance has no remorse..

You got lucky and then you were unlucky. It's really as simple as that.
If the mining program you have, found you 5 solo blocks, it works. If you really have doubts, re-start the miner. If it connects then you are fine.

There was a meeting today with the main Nexus team because of the malignant narcissism of the mods and admins of Nexus Slack.
So if you think I'm off-base, check for yourself. These fucks are real assholes.

I think that you should step back and look into the mirror with this one.
Regardless of your issues with nexus' slack, based on your rancid attitude you've displayed in this thread im not sure i could see how anyone would treat you in the manner you would like to be shown.

Here's a nice little life lesson: treat people how you would like to be treated.

Sounds to me like you have a personal problem. You can keep your beef with slack mods and entitlement to yourself.

I can assure you that nobody cares about anything your saying.

You're dispensing many assumptions out of your ass without knowing facts -
You certainly don't want to ask questions, that would blow-away your baselss-bullshit.

LMFAO

well then.. since you like to use pretty colors in attempt to get your point across. and the fact that you clearly dont seem to understand, I'll make it simple..

i can assure you that nobody cares about anything youre saying.

you are genius, thanks
i upgraded it through my samsung note 5, it looked like it froze forever, but after 5 min, i accessed it through my laptop and changed all setting

it takes about 3 minutes for the firmware to be applied. Always give it some time..
Glad that worked for you  Smiley

I found a PDF earlier today.. ill take some screenshots and post them.. one sec.

As for the grading, im not sure what criteria they used to base their analysis' on. Premise? Execution? Uniqueness? Not sure there are alot of variables and im not really taking any of it with a grain of salt..

you have allowed my hacked account to join your signature campaign.

Unfortunately I never staked an address therefore couldn't provide a PGP to prove ownership for recovery. That said, it will not prevent me from raising awareness.

This is exactly what I didn't want to happen. Somebody aquireing ill gotten gains from my years of posting history.

your paying my hacked account to post..

This ultimately falls on my irresponsibility of not taking adequate actions toward protection of my account..

I had this issue as well. The problem is that you are trying to send the file over as is through a PC.
The machine connot recognize what your trying to send to it.

My solution was flashing it with my tablet.
If you have a tablet give that a try. If not try using your cell phone.
I dont know what it is about that but its worked for me everytime.

Hope this helps, bud.

Edit:
As in download the .tar from bitmain through your mobile device and send it over from there. My hunch is that through PC the file is usually decompressed through winrar and what not. On a mobile device it is left as intended and is then readable by the asic.

Have you tried to recover your account by password reset via email address? Because by looking your account's trust page, your account changed the password only i suggest that you should try that first. The problem is the forum admins don't recover accounts unless your account is hero or legendary rank and if you don't recover it then ask for mods to ban your account or ask for a DT member to put a negative trust on your hacked account.

pretty sure they got the email address as well. When I noticed, I checked the security log and seen the password had been changed "via email". Not an option.
That, and the email providers recovery options are dysfunctional to say the least..

I've asked a DT member to tag the account with a response that I would certainly expect. They wouldn't because i never staked an address. therefore, I couldn't prove its mine.. Which is correct, though it is mine.

I post this to warn you (the community) that the account is compromised. Provable or not. And yes, I would love to see it deemed unusable to whomever is in its current control.
