1  Economy / Exchanges / What is this withdrawal on my bitcoin address? (Mods please help move this) on: January 08, 2018, 04:44:02 PM
https://ibb.co/csYOU6

There seems to be a withdrawal transaction from my Cryptopia BTC address to some address I don't know for the amount I have in my portfolio there + an additional like 3 BTC worth on top of that. It's unconfirmed but I have no idea if this is normal.

Any help?

I've been waiting for a correction too, until I realized why I invested in XRP in the first place. I think they have a great team, vision, and product. I think it's undervalued even now. In the bigger and long term picture, i've concluded that buying it now or waiting for a $.50 price correction won't make that much of a difference. I'm not day trading. hodl.

I'm very new to the crypto game, but what I realized is, is that it's still early.

Took some time to read up on the forums and picked a few altcoins to research. I really liked what Ripple was doing - their product, vision, and team. I invested a couple days ago when it was $1.25. It's doing pretty well so far!

I'd suggest absorbing as much info as you can and going from there.

thanks all, I bought some shares on Poloniex.

We'll see how it does!

Right now Bittrex doesn't take new accounts and I'm not too comfortable buying from Cryptopia, HitBTC, and Poloniex. Either fees seem high or people have trouble with withdrawals/losing money/no support.

Any help would be great, thanks!

I'm new to the game but have been reading up on info as much as I could. I really like what I've been reading about ripple, so that's where I may put my first investment in. Just like you, I'm looking to get my feet wet with $100.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ripple XRP - where do you guys buy, and what wallet do you guys use? on: December 27, 2017, 02:53:59 PM
Main questions are in the title, but an additional one is, do you guys use a wallet that's offline?

sorry if my questions are basic/doesn't make sense. Still trying to learn the ropes. Thanks

i'm new too, and i don't think you can really level up quickly. It's hard to contribute meaningful posts if you don't take time to soak in the myriad of information that's on these forums. I've been taking time to read a bunch of posts so I can get a better grasp before contributing myself.  In any case, best of luck!

Thanks all! I've been checking out blockgeeks...very straight forward and informative.

I'm still a little bit confused how I can buy $100 worth of bitcoin. Is coinbase a place I can do that?

It depends on your jurisdiction. They serve lots of countries, but not all. I'm in the US and I use Coinbase. If you're putting in $100, I would definitely look for a service that has free ACH bank transfers. Wire fees aren't worth it at that level.

If you end up using Coinbase, here's a trick to avoid their high fees: Free bank transfer to Coinbase, free USD transfer to their back-end exchange GDAX, free limit orders on GDAX. You can effectively pay zero fees (or 0.25% if you just have to market order!) vs. 2%-4% using Coinbase's front end.

Thank you for the insight. Could you explain a little more on how I would do that?

I'm extremely new to the cryptocurrency world. Stumbled across this forum and found it pretty interesting. After browsing through some topics, I feel a bit overwhelmed. I'll keep looking around but if someone can direct me to well written resources that break down bitcoin, blockchain, and crypto in easy to understand/digest ways that'd be great.

Another question I had was, is there a way to invest in partial bitcoins? For example, if I only have $100 to use, is there like some mutual fund equivalent to owning bitcoin?

Thanks in advance.
