1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need Your Opinion on this Matter - Creating a gen. 2.0 Cryptocurrency! #!#!#!#!# on: January 31, 2015, 10:08:03 PM
My advice would be for you to come around the nxtforum and look which subproject you can contribute your talent to.

The more talented people we have here, the faster we get our stuff done and polished. And the less and less excuses people have for not investing Wink

What do you think davethetrousers, if a project with the same management degree as in NXT's case, but with a different technology and prospects will be announced tomorrow, what will be your reaction to it?

It'd have to be really, really, REALLY innovative above and beyond what NXT is doing, to be relevant and of interest at this point. You'd have to aim at something at the scale of Ethereum or higher, and people have their doubts whether they will be able to deliver even halfway on their claims.

I'm not saying that everything that can be done has been done already, just that there are really ambitious projects around and the "white spots on the map" become less and less all the time.

Pretty good new article on NXT, specifically from an investor's perspective:

http://www.coinssource.com/marc-de-mesel-nxt-stage-cryptos/

Maybe you can extract something from it for your consideration.

More or less those coins were determined to appear in desire to get the same outcome as NXT did(but i still think of NXT as a scam, don't blame me, its just my opinion).

With the prices so low right now, against both BTC and fiats, people really have no excuse for calling NXT some sort of scam. I can't even imagine where the "scam vector" should be. Initial distribution maybe? Well, prices are cheap again, as I said.

If you're convinced by the project, get in on it.

Ah yes, the info is inside the OP by now. I'll just assume it mustn't have been there the whole time, because I probably would have found that paragraph when I was looking the other day.

Just sent all my assets to that address there.

So, this is possibly quite obvious, but I don't find any definite statement for this: How would one go ahead and exchange their TOKEN for UNITY solely through the NXT network at this point?

I could of course just send my TOKENs back to the issuing account, but... again, no official info on this to be easily found. So how can and should I do it?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET - ICO conducted by BTER + ... on: September 11, 2014, 09:32:15 AM
It's a good idea to keep the price stable as long NXT/BTC is rising.

Should only increase asset price when daily average moves less than 0.5% up.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET - ICO conducted by BTER + ... on: September 06, 2014, 03:09:18 PM
only compensate those effected!

I agree with this.

There's already some guy hoping for a big margin there (alias "PURE EVIL"), buying everything slightly above 114 and selling slightly below 127. He'll get everything as profit, and nothing will go to people who paid 140 (me included btw).

That said, I do have a small bid at 114 now, too.

NXT market is dry, please refill (@ ≤140) Cheesy

50% [...] are held by just 30 people.

What you're thinking of is capitalism, not NXT. And yes, I don't like it either.

PoS implementations have a lot of issues and as far as I am given to understand NXT has not solved these in a strong way

As I was alluding to: There is no historic evidence for any big exploit of some of these issues that suddenly seemed to pop up. And we wouldn't really need much more than one or two proven exploit cases to really show them, if they were in fact the case. Remember, these claims go to the very theoretical fundamentals and should be able to easily topple the whole shebang, shouldn't they?

On the other hand, NXT bugs have been exploited and the NXT network has been attacked in various ways, often exploiting some fringe boundary conditions or special cases. Everything has got and continues to get fixed as soon and effectively as possible.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: June 20, 2014, 07:27:17 PM
If attacking the NXT chain is really so unfathomably easy as is stated by some dudes, then they should just go ahead and make it big. Cash out some millions of NXT and crash the system right after. Because, why not? Nothing's at stake, amirite?

Feel free to come at us...

Honestly, it seems to be nothing more than childish disregard of a promising technology (no offence to XCPers in general, just the FUDdy PoW acolytes)

I can't believe it that so many selling so low. Well I just enlarged my stake a little. I never thought that NEM on the AE actually worsen the distribution.  Grin

An initial distribution of perfect equality can only get worse. How could it get better anyway?
