1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who here has the most Bitcoin? on: September 29, 2018, 04:30:14 PM
I've recently diversified my portfolio. It is now about 40% BTC, 40% EOS and 20% sitting with fiat on an exchange. I'm waiting for the price to drop to buy into either btc or a different project.  Tongue
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who will benefit the most from bitcoin/cryptocurrency? on: September 22, 2018, 07:28:00 PM
I have a friend who is interested in getting into bitcoins but he does not have a lot of savings or any major investments. He also has a lot of debts to pay and has an average wage job with a family of 4 to raise. When we were talking yesterday, I thought: who really would benefit the most from investing in bitcoin or cryptocurrency? Can those who are like my friend get into bitcoin even though he has no major investment? Or is bitcoin only for those who can afford it?

I believe that everyone in the world will benefit from cryptocurrency. However different varieties of crypto will be suited towards different people. I dont see it as an investment, more as a currency and a platform. The high tx fees in btc will scare away people from using it as a currency.

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin become an asset on: September 16, 2018, 05:20:58 PM
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/south-korean-supreme-court-rules-bitcoin-asset/

I read about this news that in south korea bitcoin is legally become recognizeable as asset. I do think bitcoin is a currency and not an asset. I dont know whether this is good news or not for cryptocurrency. One thing i believe with legalization from goverment i do think more investors will come to invest in bitcoin, but i think if bitcoin become an asset its not as it suppose to because i believe bitcoin should be a currency which is currency is for transaction and asset is not for transaction.

Personally speaking, I prefer to utilize my Bitcoins as assets in my trading and investments rather than using them to shop online. Don't get me wrong, I was also able to use it as a mode of payment before, no hassles, I just see it as more convenient and efficient using it in trading and investment. Its value is so much that, I am having a hard time spending it online wherein I can spend fiat anyways.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Banks fear cryptocurrency on: December 03, 2017, 06:00:41 PM
Well, if people start storing their assets with bitcoin instead of banks. they lose a ton of their money. so banks should be scared, but right now i think bitcoin isnt that big enough to take over banks.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This shit needs to STOP imo. on: November 08, 2017, 09:53:30 PM
I don't see how the cancellation of the fork is a bad thing for bitcoin, it shows how the dominant chain is the lasting one and therefore does nothing to harm its reputation. the price shouldn't fluctuate by much.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: November fork Segwit2x - Advice on what to do on: November 06, 2017, 01:46:47 AM

I would need advice on the best way to profit from Segwit2x (if there is a way). At the moment, I have some bitcoin at 3 different exchanges, but I have read that not all of them will list a possible new chain and that I should keep funds cold stored for the occassion.

So far it seems that segwit2x and original bitcoin both don't have replay protection, that means that if you spend coins on either chain someone could attack and mimic a transaction on the other chain.

You are suggested to not spend any coins after the fork until either chain integrates replay protection. I'm sure one of the chains is going to cave in and enable it.

9  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much BTC will fall in 3 days after Segwit2x fork in November? on: November 04, 2017, 09:08:17 PM
I'm unsure which whether the 2x coin will become the dominant coin after the fork. I feel like the majority thinks its going to be the original coin, but I guess weill have to wait and see. Hopefully bitcoin doesn't lose value with both the coins combined.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin finally legal in India on: August 26, 2017, 05:14:21 PM
I was under the impression that it was always legal in india  Tongue. I wonder how this is going to be affected by the riots that are currently happening there.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin implants? on: April 01, 2017, 03:55:28 PM
I'm not sure if this has ever been implemented yet, but can you imagine a way of paying with Bitcoin by just using your own body?

It would be more of like a microchip implanted into your left or right hand that would contain both your public and private keys to send and receive Bitcoins.

So in case you want to send or receive some BTC, you would just pass your hand over at a scanner and it would perform the desired operation. This is would make it a very convenient and easy way to transact, and carry your Bitcoins with you anytime, anywhere. However, the only thing to be considered would be the security of your private key from within your implant, to protect your funds from theft.

Nevertheless, I want to know your opinion about this, since it would be pretty cool to have such a system to help spread mass adoption of the cryptocurrency.  Smiley
hmm sounds like a good idea, but i imagine for it to be a multi address wallet it would need some sort of battery source and chip to be able to generate new addresses otherwise it could just be a single qr code for one address.
12  Other / Off-topic / Re: How are you earning BTC? on: March 04, 2017, 01:00:40 AM
So as of this moment, I'm only earning bitcoin through a signature campaign here on bitcointalk forum.
How are you earning bitcoin?
I mainly just buy bitcoin whenever the price drops a bit. but lately its been going up alot so i guess ill have to lay off purchasing for a while.
Its good for bitcoin to finally reach an all time high though.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why people do not get Bitcoin. on: January 12, 2017, 11:30:23 PM
well in my opinion the main reason is not the volume you speak of. i feel like bitcoin has enough popularity its just that buying into bitcoin is somewhat complicated. theres so many verifications on exchanges that need to be done. for a anonymous currency this is quite the opposite of ideal.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another Bubble Bursts – Bitcoin China Crashes Over 30% on: January 05, 2017, 11:41:09 PM
Price is still close to $1000. Thats a huge increase unless you bought coins for $1150.
Unless thousands of Bitcoin get dumped and the price drops to $500, the rise over the last few months may be signs of a bright future.

The recent rise has caused some mainstream media attention and new investors to become interested in crypto.
I would not be surprised to learn that some major online businesses were considering Bitcoin payments after the recent exposure.
Totally agree with this , we shouldnt look at what happened in a day but what happened over months. price has almost doubled in a month and a small burst should not be that significant.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Manipulation is real on: November 27, 2016, 03:20:26 AM
I came back from school like 3 hours ago , I first checked preev.com and the price was 747$ or something now It's currently 715$ . I now know for sure that this definitely some manipulation by some rich millionaires and It has nothing to do with India cash news. Feel free to share your thoughts !
I don't see that as a manipulation in the currency. Its small price volatility, happens almost everyday with bitcoin.

I would say whales are manipulating the currency when you see the price change by around 100-150 in a day.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: voting: $750 in 1/12/2016? on: November 27, 2016, 03:18:07 AM
I vote for low 700s which will chop into next year. the excitement might be over for the year. doesn't matter. it's been a positive year overall.
Also agree with this. 750 is just a tad bit too high, a good number is around 725 ish. I think bitcoin is going to hit 2017 with 725 and be stable for many months to come.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is CHINA CONTROLLING Bitcoin? on: November 27, 2016, 03:16:02 AM
People here have claimed that Bitcoin is in fact controlled and ruled by China, as mining is centralized by Chinese mining institutions.

Do you think that China is controlling/ruling bitcoin yes or no?
I believe that china controlls the biggest bitcoin exchanges and also the biggest bitcoin mining industries. but i would disagree with the saying that china controls it. It plays a big part in the success of bitcoin but does not control it.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This School Accepts Bitcoin ! on: November 27, 2016, 03:14:38 AM
thats actually pretty cool, but i doubt that a small school accepting school fees in bitcoin does anything for bitcoin. Would be kind of tedious for the parents to pay fees with a currency thats volatile and fluctuates every day.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin fees, where's your limit? on: November 25, 2016, 10:21:59 PM
My limit of fees is usually about 10 cents max per transaction. but usually i just include around 0.00015 in fees per transaction and this lets my transaction be confirmed in about an hour which works fine for me.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does a President Trump mean for Bitcoin? on: November 25, 2016, 10:20:47 PM
Since the election of Trump to the new US President yesterday, many questions about Bitcoin arise.

Will he promote Bitcoin and make it a breakthrough? Will he even officially ban Bitcoin? Will he make such a bad economic (and monetary) policy that Bitcoin will be seen as an alternative for many?

What do you think, what will a President Trump mean for Bitcoin?
i doubt it changes anything for bitcoin, until he announces any changes for digital currencies that is. But when he won the election we saw a huge spike in the price of bitcoin because everyone was switching currencies to bitcoin.
