I don't know the implication exactly, but Litecoin price tends to go up instantly and after that it keeps the level or slowly loses its value. I'm not surprised litecoin gains value again after this decreasing trend. Personally I like Litecoin

To be fair to the troll it is a bit underwhelming on here.
I am confused daily why the vol on Polinex is like 5-10 BTC while coins like Monero have like 400BTC vol?
In case of Monero, external resources are poured in a form of mining. And this acts as a downward pressure in price. That can explain a greater volume on exchanges. On the other hand, Qora has no external resource to be poured, and the only way to get Qora is to directly buy it on the exchange. This makes Qora so easy to be high in price, without the need to struggle against dumping by a lot of miners! I think this is a major advantage of 100% proof-of-stake coins. Possibly. So many people quoted my comment like it was some attack on Qora. I was just saying vol is so low for such a great coin. Price had nothing to do with it, just wondered why people were't rushing to buy yet. Can we stop the idea the distribution is bad myth? http://coinia.net/qora/blockexplorer.php?top=100That is better distribution than NXT or even Bitcoin. one of the big holders is probably an exchange too. Maybe the distribution is too good, maybe we need a whale to sell Qora. The price is very stable now, never goes below 50 sats. One point Qora misses is a solid white paper of its security model I think. Without it, we cannot discuss about possible attacks and defenses. If Bitcoin did not have the white paper, maybe I was not here on bitcointalk and didn't pay atttention or become interested in it.

Moderated threads scare me a bit. Or we need a certain level of generosity I think.

Orphaned blocks are wasted having power, so the network becomes less secure
For more detail, I'll try to present a few numbers. I referred to the bitcoinmagazine article: http://bitcoinmagazine.com/8972/quarkcoin-noble-intentions-wrong-approach/Assuming it takes about twelve seconds for the block to propagate through the network... Bitcoin (10min): 2% work wasted = 2% less secure Litecoin (2.5min): 8% work wasted = 8% less secure Primecoin (1min): 20% work wasted = 20% less secure (than all of the work dedicated).

In regard to the incentive for forging being securing one's investment, I strongly recommend adopting a "cold-forging" feature because the psychological fear of theft is huge when forging online.
There is a feature called Account Leasing. You can give your account forging rights to another account, without giving up control of your coins. So it's easy to lease your accounts forging power to a new account, and only use that account to forge online. This is effectively "cold-forging". Thank you! Nxt definitely has various fascinating features. I guess many competent developers are behind this project.

Thank you for your insightful post, Blazin604. This is very true.
Which bit? The fee argument. It is out of date. MinFeePerByte was already agreed when the original post was made by BrianNowhere and will be part of the next release. Thanks. One argument was that PoS achieves low transaction fees (no energy cost), but reality proves it needs enough incentive to secure the network was interesting. In the early days forging was portrayed as means for profit, just like putting money into miners for PoW, but since then it became clear that Nxt forging produces minimal return. The true incentive for forging is to secure your investment while doing it. Normally this would not necessary be enough incentive to create a sizeable, healthy network. But here is where thinks get interesting. Nxt is not simply a coin (thats the reason why it's not NxtCoin), but a platform. People can and do built business, services, even other (PoW) coins on top of it, and they are highly motivated to secure the network. A seen a lot of people who used to the idea and practice of mining look at Nxt, and be disgusted that there is no money to be made that way with Nxt. That's because Nxt is truly something new with new possibilities, you have to look at it with different eyes. In regard to the incentive for forging being securing one's investment, I strongly recommend adopting a "cold-forging" feature because the psychological fear of theft is huge when forging online.

I am interested, too.
BTW, how about distributing coins based on Bitcoin ledger?
For example, the first big distribution occurs proportionally to the amount of bitcoins held. After that, gradual distribution of lottery system calculated from all Bitcoin's block headers and balance (this will ensure on-going distribution which is unpredictable).
Also, this will make all existing bitcoins (and future coins) worth more, which (I think) is good for the entire cryptocoin's faith.

If you look carefully, the mined block reward is still 280MMC, 56MMC each is awarded to the voted ceo, cto, cso, cha, cmo, cno for "services" rendered to memorycoin. Thanks, that makes sense. I thought it was a hacker's act. I'm relieved.
