Wow, 11,000TH at 21 hours and still no found block. Is this a new record?

It doesn't matter to me, with my mighty 140GH, but I do pity the other bigger setups.

EDIT: Heh, just popped. I wouldn't be surprised if we have awesome luck now.

The ancients surely would have seen natural nuclear reactions

http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/ancient-nuclear-reactor/

of which there is evidence.

Whether they built out or utilized the knowledge is another matter.

They probably skipped fission and went straight to the red mercury.
7  Economy / Collectibles / (WTS) GARY HOUSTON FRAMED PRINT 290/600 Phil Lesh and Friends 12/31/00 OAKLAND on: December 02, 2014, 02:15:25 AM
This is a Gary Houston print number 290 out of 600, which is signed by him.

The actual print is 24 inches tall by 16 inches wide

with the frame  it is 31 inches high by 23 inches wide

The show is a Phil Lesh and Friends New Years 2000-2001 in Oakland, California.

It is behind glass and framed, and the frame has 2 minor scuffs which have close ups,
and 2 very mild tiny nicks which are not pictured. These scuffs/nicks could be darkened easily with light oil.

No other damage to the frame. The print looks excellent.

8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dumpers are gone , bottom has been reached (366) on: October 03, 2014, 01:37:14 AM
It really makes one wonder if there are forces at work to lower the price of BTC so that someone can consolidate it. Much like the gold market is being manipulated so that the Chinese can load up at a very reasonable price so as to back the yuan...

But for what reason to manipulate BTC?

To lower the price to get in cheap. Or to increase the price and sell out high.

Check out Coinworks.info

I didn't get as far as pricing, but wow, it looks deceptively point and click.

Is this a sign of market saturation? Is there a choo choo train to da Moon i missed?

Hmm. Blood profits. Literally.

Intriguing, but in the end the market would be up-ended by the intro of synthetic blood made to order.
14  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: STOP BUYING MINING HARDWARE on: October 02, 2014, 10:54:18 PM
Understood- the current state of mining does not provide a satisfactory return.
But what happens IF btc spikes to 1200us? Then everyone who bought in will look like a genius.
And then the whole cycle will start up again.
