1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: September 28, 2014, 09:53:36 PM
When upgrading from S1 to S3 one thing to try after installing the latest firmware is to go to miner configuration select the advanced settings tab then select a frequency. Click on the save and apply button.

When I upgraded mine it would not start hashing until I set the frequency.

The wallet that generated the address will receive the bitcoins from Quickbit.

Since you selected a send address (defined as an address that you send bitcoin to from your wallet) then the bitcoin most likely will not be going to a wallet you own.

The reason I say most likely is because some people to minimize dust or for other reasons will send bitcoin to themselves. If the address you had Quickbit send the bitcoin to was generated by a wallet under your control then you can access it.

One option is to ask the owner of the wallet to send the .1 BTC back to you (assuming you know who they are).
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A plateau? on: October 01, 2013, 04:40:11 PM
There will be a plateau i.e. the point where it is cheaper to buy Bitcoin then it is to mine it. The big question for people buying mining equipment is where that plateau will hit because it is dependent on cost of electricity, power efficiency of your miner, price of Bitcoin and what is acceptable margin (i.e. if electric cost is $100 to mine $100+X of Bitcoin what is my X where I stop). The new proposed miners are supposed to be more efficient which drives up difficulty before you hit the X value.

The reason everyone calculates linear or exponential is because during this transition time where pre-ordered mining equipment is coming on-line no one knows where the plateau will be. The big question is how many months is a given difficulty calculator is good for. The only way to know is to wait and see where the difficulty is in three months.
