1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ROI] ROI Coin | CPU Only Solo Mining Hybrid | 15% POS | 593% Term Deposit on: March 25, 2019, 03:45:36 AM
I've made a deposit last year.
Deposit block is 33272, Maturation block is 297063.
Estimation Date is 2019/03/27.
But I received nothing: my Available Balance is 0.
Why?
Just because you deposited something for 1 year does not mean it will automatically be released in that 1 year. It's all dependent on how many blocks have been mined. As of writing this post, we are at 294,735. You still need another 2300 blocks before your deposit is at maturity level. At that deposit time, our mining hash was about way higher which would have given you a lower expected time. I mean if we had enough people mining then that time could be less than a year.

Spread the information about that coin. We need more people mining it.

Hope this answered your question!

Thank you,

how do you estimate the cost?

Update about actual average ROI coin mining cost by coin.

0.0042 USD
OR
0.00000053 BTC

Number of coin I mine by day on the pool vs cost by day electricity/internet. I add a factor for the hardware cost spread on 3 years.

I wouldn't even quote the cost of the internet cost since its an everyday thing unless you're paying per GB?

I think even you're paying in GB typically miners just consume around <0.3MB per hour.
Yep, that's my point. There really is no point of calculating the cost of that. Did you also calculate in the heat/AC?  Lips sealed

Is there other miner besides hodlminer ? Hodlminer olny runs on selected windows system and only in 64bit.
Well hodl runs on every 64 bit versions even windows Server So you must be talking about XP and if that is the case you might as well not

Something is very weird, or at least I don't understand it:

ROI block explorer shows network hashrate: 290.6160 KH/s (current block 79777)

1. Suprnova pool: 285,859.434 KH/s (current block 79777)
2. Optiminer pool: 26180.1h/s (current block 79778)
3. Coinspool PoolL 5 kH/s (current block 79778) (yes there are still some people there)

Three pools together make approximately 316 KH/s while block explorer is on 290 KH/S !?
What about solo miners, they add some mining power too??

Network hashrate is not reflecting agregated hashrates across pools and wallet miners.

Pretty sure the website shows the average over a period of hours

I've been following this project for a while now. It shows a lot of promise and a bright future. Just wish I could gpu mine it Wink

You keep that Asci cancer away from us Wink

It seems that more and more antivirus applications are recognizing wallet or miners as virus/malware/suspicious behaviors.

Maybe someone knowledgeable can advise why is that. What is so specific making it a problem, use of CPU resources?

There is maleware/virus out there containing cpu miners, thus (mis)using your computing ressources to mine cryptocurrency at the advantage of those who created the maleware. Thus your antivirus software might be triggered by the signature of some cpu miners.

Just add an exception and you should be fine.

Pretty common one right now is the Monero Mining virus. Unexpected people clicking on clicks / getting phished. Pretty smart idea for the people doing it. Creating a Cluster pool and everything. Especially Monero since it's not traceable.  I think most of these miners are running in the background and most task manager applications won't pick it up but CPU performance will be degraded. Using process hacker is the best tool. If you need to exclude that .exe, windows defender will not allow the exception. Try excluding the folder its in. If that doesn't let you, use Windows Powershell and force it.

Anyone else having a problem where Windows Defender is now picking up hodlminer.exe as a "trojan" and completely removes it? Can't even had an exception since its a "trojan/virus". Adding the folder to the exception list using PowerShell might have fixed it if anyone else is having this problem

Optiminer pool must be stuck on block 73324

You might want to have a look at cryptocurrencies like Verium or Magi. I for example have 4x Pi3 running in the basement on Verium and it works really well. No big profits but it is fun setting it up and it is running in the background 24/7 on a 5 port USB charger without any issues.

Odroid XU4 would be even more efficient with this but they are hard to get and expensive where I live so I went with the Pi3's.

Very interested on what you have to say here. Is verium a CPU locked coin? I assume? And what kind of hash are you getting with these Pi3's? Please elaborate on this.
Thanks

Is anybody else having issues with solo mining with the new hotfix wallet?

I left a couple of machines running all night that I know were mining a sensible number of blocks before but have nothing after 16hours or so.

On another note  lost about 4000 blocks on one machine when I updated. - I have a backup wallet.dat file - any way to recover these?

I've mined more blocks in the last 24 hours then i did last week...  Shocked

Yeah - I noticed my machine was going a bit faster than it should have been so I guess you are on the wrong chain too.

As it happens I had about 10 machines mining and not one of them was on the right blockchain, so I have been going though updating them all.

Solo mining appears to be broken though in the new wallet.

EDIT: finally mined one block, but I was mining around 8 every 24 hours before and now I am down to one. Dual Xeon 2630 v3.

Still mining in 1.1.2. I'm 5 blocks ahead of what the block explorer says in both wallets.  Should I apply the hotfix? Are my coins bogus?

Edit. Yep, getting further away from block explorer. Gonna have to apply hotfix

Ah, so the pool isn't working right? Probably why I found 3 blocks last night while soloing   Huh

Crazy how much the pool affects solo mining...

Would be great to get into ROI coin betting/staking as suggested. Just like the whole CSGO thing, having streams on twitch would generate a lot of interest...

Is there any news about listing in some new exchanges?

This is from DisasterFaster posted on discord...
Quote
yes a few updates would be the tutorial videos are in progress, the online paper wallet is in progress,  1-2 more exchanges is in progress, website updates are being worked on, we are working on adding the coin to the DEX decentralized exchange, we are setting up a testnet with some extra features so we can test the next batch of wallet updates, a marketing push is being readied and will begin once we see that the CoinsMarkets exchange is up and stable again  I don't anticipate any issues in being able to hit all of our 1st quarter 2018 road map bullet points..(edited)

You really should sub to the channels to learn information like this. Smiley

With 60 h/s i get about 20 coins a day

Ive also mined now for 24h and only got one payment with 20 coins.
But now 5 hours later my balance shows already again almost 20 coins.

So I think the dude above me is right... just keep mining Smiley

--edit--
Just trying to term deposit.
I have to use my own ROI Coin wallet as deposit adress, right?

I have two computers going now both solo and one mines in the pool during the day. Less CPU use while mining in pool.

and yes, use your own address when you deposit.

Whats wrong is with coinspool.cu.cc?
I mined there for about 8 hours with 576.23H but still have Balance: 0 ROI.
WTF?

Pool pays out at 20 coins. Takes time to get those 20 coins plus about 12+hours to do the confirmations of 360

Does anybody has an idea why all the hodl miners keep crashing on a Win7 machine of mine?
("hodlminer.exe wasnt able to start") (and only on this computer, someother works fine).

--edit--
Also I want to begin staking, but want my Wallet first to be moved on
an USB drive.
Can anybody help me with this?
I assume its not enough just to move the ROIcoin-qt_x64_v1120.exe on
to a flashdrive... where are the wallet files located?

That file should be located C:\Users\<YourUserName>

Hi,

After a lot of digging , combining work from wolf/optiminer and nicehash, I managed to find a working version,
please try the following for me,
warning: This is my first time compiling a mining tool for windows.

https://github.com/ghobson2013/hodlminer-wolf/releases/download/v2.4.4/hodlminer_AVX2_AES_win64.zip

Hi, your miner provides better hashrate than previous version.
Core i7-4785T - ~370h\s instead of ~300h\s
Xeon E5-2620v4 (dual cpu) - ~990h\s instead of 830 h\s
Core i5-8250U - ~466h\s instead of 371 h\s
Xeon E5-2430 (dual cpu) - Cant run, instead of 600 h\s
Core i7-3540M - Cant run, instead of 143 h\s

Looks like your miner cant work properly on my 2 last machines cause they CPUs are old and dont support AVX2.
Anyway thank you very much for your work!

P.S. Could you please disable these annoying messages "Time for GenRandomGarbage..." ? Are there any existing way to do it?

Did you find a miner that is able to run the Xeon E5-2430 (dual cpu)? I got two E5462 that i'd like to be able to run
