1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best altcoins to buy for 2018 on: January 05, 2018, 02:23:45 AM
Hey guys, you are totally right, SHIFT is a fantastic option also and I have updated my post with both. I have also outlined my reasoning for highlighting SUB for a January pick over SHIFT but both have great potential for 2018. I just think SHIFT's price has matured a little more than SUB and for the next few weeks and you may not see the same amount of short-term gains.

I hope that makes sense in that particular context of profits rather than saying one tech is better than the other. Cheers!

Hi Guys,

A lot of these have been covered in other forums or previous posts but here they are anyway for those that may have missed them with a little more info.

As always, this is all very general info, please please please do your own research and make informed decisions. If you disagree with my opinions that's totally fine, there are stacks of other great options available also but these happen to be the ones I'm personally loving this month as great picks for 2018 returns.

>>> XSPEC - Spectre Coin
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/spectrecoin/

- Best privacy coin features and better than Monero IMHO
- Small 20 million coin supply which is only slightly above Monero's supply so do the math with the price difference - it is a NO BRAINER
- The dev does not own a stack of coins like Deep Onion, which is a great coin but this fact concerns me a little after the Litecoin owner sell out.
- It has a staking wallet that pays you rewards
- XSPEC has two new  releases (1.3.4 and 1.4) planned for January
- It's currently down from its all-time high today, now is the time people

>>> SUB - Substratum
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/substratum/

- If you don't know what this is then you need to read about it, it's going to allow access to the internet for every country with censorship and replace VPN etc
- You can run a SUB node on your home PC without techie knowledge and both get paid for it and help allow free access to the internet for all people of the world
- Payment for running nodes are in SUB. This demonstrates token utility for a coin supply of only 226,091,449. ADA Cardano has a supply of 45 BILLION and it is 1.21 USD today, again, do the math.
- Their Beta is about to be released in a few weeks (January) and it will rocket. The price looks like it is up now but this one is estimated to be a double-digit coin in a month once it is released and people realise the massive change this will make to the world.
- Please be aware that SHIFT is another amazing option in this space, I understand their tech is further along than SUB and it has great potential. I have not listed it in detail as I believe SUB has the better profit potential for January. In terms of 2018 SHIFT could well outperform SUB but I think SUB will have more hype/marketing behind it and will drive the price where Shift have not been as active to date. This is pure speculation, make your own call guys, find SHIFT here: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/shift/

>>> STORM - Storm
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/storm/

- This one has a big total supply guys so you want to get in this week while it is newly released! Once it takes off in January it probably won't be worthwhile (from a profit perspective only).
- What is it? See this article that explains Micro task platforms
- The token has massive utility
- Check out the team and the advisors on their website, it is IMPRESSIVE. Did you happen to notice the CEO OF BITTREX, tell me that you won't see this listed on Bittrex in the coming months, I dare you...
- Check out the userbase of the existing platform, IT IS IMPRESSIVE
- Get in this week or get sad

>>> HAT - Hawala Today
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/hawala-today/

- OK for westerners reading this it might seem strange but third world countries have a LOT (A   L O T) of people that don't have access to FIAT currency, bank accounts etc etc. A Hawala is an ancient name for professional money merchant that would carry money for a small fee from one village to another to provide a means of sending money to family or friends. If you have not travelled the world much you are probably still scratching your head, for those that have been around you will understand that in the third world this is still very relevant and Hawala Today addresses the issue beautifully.
- OK, here's one for the capitalists that are still not impressed with this concept, the circulating coin supply is a tiny 337,793 with a total supply of only 7 million. With the current price as it is and the massive utility of the token... well... you can do the math my friends.
- This one is not well known yet but they have just released their Alpha wallet and things are going to move fast in the next month or two.
- Again they offer a staking wallet that rewards token holders

>>> VIBE - Vibe Hub
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/vibe/

- IMHO VR is still a new and novel concept as at January 2017 but tell me that it is not going to be the #1 thing kids are going to be nagging their parents to death for at Xmas 2018 (parents, you know what I'm talking about and you know the billions of dollars that this relates to). For instance, my son didn't want cash this Xmas, he wanted ROBLOX tokens which is virtual currency for a game that is kind of like Minecraft. Real cash holds little value for him in his little world, crazy but true.
- Vibe is monetization of VR platforms, they have amazing partnerships with companies like Playstation and the roadmap is set to release to all VR platforms.... when.... you guessed it, Q4 2018 just in time for Christmas. You watch the tokens be on each kids wishlist.
- This one is still a great price but it will probably be very rewarding HODL till Xmas, if you are up for that then get in. If not, it's maybe not for you at this price.
- Another mention in this space is https://enjincoin.io/ it has a much lower coin supply (756,192,535) and will probably yield earlier rewards. Check it out also, but when I think of gaming in late 2018 and 2019, I can't see how a LED screen and mouse is going to compare to the immersive world of VR.

>>> ELIX - Elixir
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/elixir/

- A very quick mention of these guys who are in the payments and loans space and are going to kick SALT's butt IMHO
- Only 30million coins in circulating supply. Check SALT's current price https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/salt/ who have almost double the circulating coin supply)
- Peer to peer lending with no fees
- Some people may prefer Request Network that is kind of similar as a great investment for 2018, both are VERY good in my book to get into now

I hope that helps you guys. For newbies, remember to store everything in a wallet and spend time learning how to secure your coins with looooooooooong passwords, good physical security (don't leave you laptop open to get lunch without locking it) and triple check each time you send money as it only takes one mistake and you can lose the entire transaction!

Stay safe and have a great January!!  Smiley

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should i do with NXT? on: December 29, 2017, 03:08:12 AM
Don't stress, you're not alone.  Smiley I went to bed (Australia) with it looking stable an hour after block 3636363 having put a fair bit into it and woke up with it bottomed out. I bought a whole bunch more at the new bottom price after seeing it hold out at a floor price and will be calm and patient and sell it when it corrects, which it will.

Look at the big Verge scare from the other day, it has already increased 40% today to get back to normal. Just be patient, enjoy your free Ignis and focus on any other funds that you have available not tied up in NXT to trade with in the meantime.
