1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: February 13, 2018, 10:59:34 PM
I'm installing a main lug in my basement to bring in 240v for my antminer a3.  I just popped open my main breaker for the first time and I can say without a doubt I wish the electrician who did the initial wiring would have made it as organized as yours did hahaha.

Also, why are you using shelving instead of racks?  Seems like some racks and pdus would take up much less room.

Probably cost.  From the looks of the pictures, he has lots and lots of empty space in his warehouse.  Those shelving units are probably around $100 a piece or so.  Way cheaper than even used racks.

I'm using similar racks because I had a ton of them from my prior business.

You can get 42U frames on ebay for $100. I'm going that route.

Keep in mind though, you'll need rack mount kits for those servers.  If the servers don't come with them, you won't be able to drop the servers into the rack.

To get the mining matching bonus you simply have to Mine XUN via one of the Official Pool. It does not matter if you are CPU mining or GPU Mining.

Great... but do you have to use the GUI wallet or can you use whatever miner you like?  If it can be whatever we want, why is Desp saying it has to be the wallet?  If it has to be the wallet, why wasn't that stated to begin with?

You Just got to mine XUN and in due time we will give you instructions on how to claim your coins.

How to claim the coins?  The official notice doesn't say we have to do something, just that they'll be sent to us.

I dont see any reason for your unfounded claims about Scams etc.

Really?  You can't think of any reason at all why people are becoming more skeptical?

If you are smart enough to make your own opinion please join XUN on Discord and lets talk:

Just because I (along with others) are beginning to share the same opinion, doesn't mean our opinion isn't our own.  Attempting to insult our intelligence isn't helping either.

I completely agree. This should have been said when someone actually asked "what are the rules" ... hell, it should've been in the official announcement that you have to use the GUI wallet to mine.  I have no idea if this coin is a clone or what, but so far, it seems the devs just want this to fail.

Are you sure about that? because people come to discord and say other things. they say that they have not received any coins from that pools.

anyway i dont want to defend our pools. Let greedy people go there and test.

we will not cover their lost shares on those pools. so anyone mining there dont come and say they have not been paid

Odd... 3rd party pool works fine, dev decides not to defend their pool that's having constant problems.

So let me get this straight, you apparently made this coin to make people rich, but only so long as they use the official pool.  If you don't, you're being greedy, despite the fact that if you stay on the official pool, you won't be getting rich.

Having a civilized conversation is exactly what I'm trying to do.  Obviously Desp thinks I should just blindly believe him for some reason.  Clearly Desp thinks the best course of action is to not answer questions and either tell people to just leave or tell them to ignore other users... why is transparency and open discussion so hard?

Honestly, at this point what's turned me off of this project is Desp's attitude here.  Seems like seb is making valid arguments are you're simply replying by attacking his character instead of addressing the issues that's being brought up.

*If there's a reason official pools aren't running as well, explain it
*If there's actually a reason you haven't released source code, say why
*You say you want to create a coin to make people money... this turns me off most of all.  Sounds like this isn't about making a good privacy coin but instead a method to make a buck.

After leaving the wallet alone for the better part of an hour, it finally got past that block and sync'd.  Despite having left it open since then, it now says it hasn't received a block in nearly 3 hours.

Does the one on their homepage not work?  https://ultranote.org/#

I'd like to keep mining, but I think unless the devs can figure something out quick, I'm gonna look into mining something else.  Despite the bickering here, there *is* a point being made;  pools *aren't* working as they should.  Hell, even my wallet (v1.0.4) won't sync past 34152.  This isn't something new, the problems with the pools have been going on for weeks.
