Allright thanks for that explanation.

So I went ahead and I sent Ethereum from Binance to the Ledger Wallet app. It seems to have arrived now since it displays the correct balance.

Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply.

I was just a little worried because it mentioned 'instability' of their Ethereum nodes.

How will you know it will arrive normally though? I'm wondering because of their 'important notice'.

Thanks.

Hello,

When I launch the Chrome app for Ethereum for the Nano Ledger S I get this message:

Important Notice

Due to current temporary instability of our Ethereum nodes, we recommend our users to use the Ledger integration of myetherwallet.com.

With a link to https://support.ledgerwallet.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005200009

I got two options; a cyan colored button 'Go to MyEtherWallet' and a grey colored button 'Use Ledger Wallet'.

I prefer to use the Ethereum Ledger Wallet, like I used to. What will happen if I use the Ledger Wallet anyway?

I've got funds on Binance, if I send them now to the Ledger Wallet for Ethereum, will it go wrong? Or what can happen?

I really don't want to use the MyEtherWallet. I don't want my crypto to be online.

Thanks.

Hello HabBear,

thank you for your reply.

Well I did go through it with an exchange, Litebit.eu which I mentioned but perhaps I didn't state it clearly enough.

To receive the coins, you need to have the Nano S connected to your computer correct?

So I was at Litebit.eu, logged in and at the buy screen, wanting to buy some Bitcoin Cash. I entered how much I wanted and all the fields, then I went to my Ledger Chrome app, and used the address from the 'main' wallet. Didn't recognize it at Litebit. Then I filled in the address from the 'split' wallet, didn't recognize it either. And I surely chose 'Receive' in the Ledger app, not 'Send'.

So I must be doing somehting wrong. And which one should I choose anyhow, 'main' or 'split'? When I connect the Ledger Nano S to my PC, enter the app on the Nano, and start up the Ledger app (Bitcoin and altcoins), the Ledger app first asks me which Bitcoin, I choose Bitcoin Cash. Then it asks me if I want to use the main or split. I've no idea which one to choose... like I said, I don't have any Bitcoins or any altcoins on my Nano S. This would be my first transaction.

So to summarize, if I want to use Litebit.eu to buy Bitcoin Cash and store it on my Ledger Nano S, which steps should I take?

I can't find any (solid) tutorials or anything on this.

So yeah.. any help'd be appreciated Smiley

Hello,

Perhaps a newbie problem for you folks Smiley

I'm trying to buy Bitcoin Cash on Litebit.eu but don't know what to do at the moment.

It asks me if I want to use 'main' or 'split' on the Ledger app. Which one do I choose? I don't have any Crypto stored on my Nano S at the moment.

So this is my first Crypto purchase.

I chose first Split, because I read that somewhere on the internet that's what I was supposed to do. Later I also chose main, but still don't understand the difference.

I tried both split and main, but doesn't matter what I choose, if I go to Litebit.eu and enter my wallet addres copied from and after clicking 'receive' in the app, it says the address is invalid.

Do I need to confirm the existence of my Ledger on the blockchain or something?

All I want to do is buy some Bitcoin Cash with my Nano Ledger S (buying with real $$$) through Litebit, why are they making this so difficult? There is no understandable explanation anywhere.

Also, the address doesn't change when you enter an amount on the Ledger app. The QR code does. Why is that?

Any help would be appreciated...

Regards
