Hi, I just set up a Bitcoin meetup at a coffeeshop that accepts Bitcoins in Seoul. It'd be nice to meet some other people interested in Bitcoin: https://www.facebook.com/events/241414286029491/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming

4  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: STOP!!! Do not buy that new ASIC ! And here's why... on: October 28, 2013, 02:19:59 PM
hmmm... a thought. if people stopped mining and just bought Bitcoins instead, the demand for Bitcoins would go up causing the exchange rate to go up. So people who no longer mine may still be trying to get people to stop mining for their own profit. Cool

Actually I want to use the bitcoins I bought a while ago to purchase a miner, or at least shares in a miner. Is that the same thing?

This whole Newbie section reeks like a tourist trap. Bunch of scammers swimming around some new fish, waiting for a bite...

Does anyone want to click my links? My links brings all the Bitcoins to the yard.

I believe it can also adjust the production rate down, if needed.

I hear a lot of doom and gloom about production rates skyrocketing... something doesn't sound right. I believe that as long as people are making money they will continue to mine, right? And if not, they will stop and the difficulty will reduce? Maybe the point here, is that if it does continue at this rate, with this next generation of miners, sounding obsolete before they have produced... it might be better to wait for the next round of ASICS (or whatever technology usurps it.. quantum? LOL)

7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think BTC will hit $300? on: October 28, 2013, 01:36:43 PM
My prediction:
In light of the increase in price due to the influx of money/interest from China (according to bitcoincharts, BTChinas market share in Yuan increased from 7% to 20%), thus boosting the prices from 120s to the current 200s. I believe the next big sustainable price increase will come from Canada in the coming months, also increasing their market share in BTC from 7% to 20%.

This will happen as a result of the successful and sustained deployment of the bitcoin ATM machines in Vancouver and across Canada. While I doubt there will be a high volume of monetary activity through the machines, the machines will act as patron saints to BTC and will get Canadians interested, or at least move them towards actions within the Canadian market. I would expect this process to take 1 to 2 months. This is accounting for opening trading accounts in Canada.

My 2 Satoshis.

I am having trouble sending my filler posts. It says that I have already posted 360 seconds a go, bit I havn't. How can I complain about the minimum post requirements while also increasing my number of posts?

What are the odds that he could solve a block with his USB miners? Thinking in terms of time, how long would it take to get a 25BTC block reward? (That's how that works, right? Newbie, here:-)

1 month, 1 year, 100 years, 1000, years?

As I understand it, it is a bit of luck too, right? A bit like gambling?
