2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do companies sell Bitcoin miners, like ASIC? on: February 20, 2014, 06:49:14 PM
What was last said is correct. Some people are willing to mine at a loss. I have mined for years, from when a gpu was worthy. I don't have a huge setup, but I still mine. Not loosing yet as I exchange monthly energy cost every month.

But that said. I would mine at a loss to an extent. I would also mine at a loss and exchange some till that extent is met. Not because I am seeking to be rich. But Bitcoin is a very useful method. It actually has saved me money with international purchases. It also has in my time made me upset based on how many I sold when it was stunning it hit 50$ , then again at 250$.

Had I just saved all the BTC I sold... but that is not the reason to do it. Despite what some people think. Yes some profit is nice. You are a business when your mining. Your supporting a system. If it covers your cost, so be it, If you make a little, great.

Also while the response is claimed to be BS , it has some true aspect. If one company took over. Or One pool took over. It could lead to a huge fall really fast.

Still in the pools area eh?

So other than I am shot out of a bunch of btc, they do not respond once you provide proof of your hash rates and fluctuations in the time period, show them the only withdrawl you did, and they then ignore you on facebook, here, email, their site,....

BUT STILL LISTED AS POOL?Huh?

Whatever, my mesely 260gh are at Ghash and BTCguild and whatever, If I get my btc from here I would be happy... hell I would be fine if they just paid for the preorder I was taking it out to use on the new KNC miner 3th...

4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: January 20, 2014, 04:39:18 PM
Any video tutorial to setup Antminer S1 i find a bit difficult to set-up that's why i'm afraid to buy the miner! Undecided

Setup was really simple for mine, It was on the 192.168.1.* on arrival, i simply powered it with pci-e (had the adapters on it now maybe that's new) connected to my network and went to the IP, Logged in, put in pool, and done.

Should note like the post above, I DO NOT use a split on PCI-E I have two dedicated PCI-E to PWR supply.

He is absolutely correct do not join on one line.

Also PW supply, I prefer Corsair HX640 Min, I use HX850 because I have a cube and a blade on it also

You would need USB inputs for that to work. Im in the same boat. Just ordered two 180gh and currently I have 2 5gh bfl miners on a pi. Just gonna keep those on the pi since these new 180gh has their own gui.

Ah, I was hoping there was a way to turn on the proxy style in cgminer like bfgminer uses. No big deal would have been nice to toss my other 74gh into one operation controller.

Can you point other miners over lan to this to merge in and mine together?
The only way is to use the same worker name. They will combine totals on your pool.

I was looking to point my blade and cube's at it so I don't need the pi as my stratum proxy (for the blade and cubes) using bfgminer.

I myself have come to just accept I lost my BTC, my fault for not keeping it in a wallet over the time, It was for me just a hobby, and I let the btc build to reasonable levels, (i know at one point I was at 25btc and never took it out). When I finally decided to Pre-order a TH rig, I logged in and was surprised at my 83 balance. But just figured that is what happens when you just have your stuff running and never check the balance. So I figured at 250/btc to pull it all out and get the miners...

I file the withdrawl (fyi this was months ago), it sits as pending. I figure ok well ill check tomorrow. Well here we are now. I left them msgs NO response of help just one on the 24th asking for my previous balance and hash info. I even offered up the fact when I wanted them their value was way less than now. I also even offered them just cover the btc to buy one of the th miner preorders .... Still a week later no response.  It is a shame, I would have liked to order a th as my my current about 80gh is not so much. (between first worker there to now my rate went from 330mh to as high as 150gh and now just 80gh)

So 50btc I hope that I hear back from you. I am willing to meet somewhere less. I do get the hack. I do get the fact I was stupid and should have never let them combine that high on a pool. (despite the fact i wasn't going to use them till now) So, you let me know. All I want is a th miner pre order. At this point Ill take a 1 th instead of the intended 2.5 or 3 th i had in mind.

(FYI I didn't check because i was recovering from surgery for almost 6 months and my stuff just runs)

I am not a very vocal member on these forums I generally read, and this is why i cannot post to the 50btc thread.

I see they are now up, I also see I have not been replied to or sent my btc i had processing for withdrawl. It would be nice if i could hear as i had a whole lot of BTC there and am quite upset. I would like to point my miners back at that pool, but I have not trust I would get my new mining.

So 50btc? can you respond... maybe let me know. I emailed, I facebooked, I used your service tab..... Nothing.
