1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Best (not safest) place to keep my coin and clones on: January 15, 2018, 07:20:25 AM
I currently have a number of wallets and was looking into consolidating into a single wallet. My understanding is that there are basically 3 types of wallets: online, offline (sync locally) and multi-key. The last is the one I don't understand. Is it correct that there are multiple keys i.e. local and online; therefore if the wallet was to get hacked and their keys exposed that its users would still be safe as there is also a local key? As long as I have my private keys written down and say from a multi-sig wallet and I safe as rain?

My want for a hybrid is that I also want to be able to spend and receive.

Thanks!

I understand gantra hasn't time to update the site and other bits but is anyone in contact with him who he trusts and allow the project to be updated i.e. update wallet, link to wallet ( currently shows it has a virus). It also doesn't have a current node list within. It's crazy that this coin is going up in value with no easy way to jump onto this project.

Here is a copy of the blockchain (with recent peers) if anyone has use for it.

http://176.31.136.231/Riecoin/Riecoin.zip - It will be updated every hour on the hour.

Thanks but address not found Sad

Wow still difficulty 1804? This one is taking forever!

I feel quite daft asking but how do I get my wallet to start syncing to the network?

I've tried running the command addnod "nodeIP" "add" as per the node list at this address https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ric/#!network

I also grabbed some of the IPs in the previous page and used the command above. I noted that people mention a config file. I'm using windows and cannot see any such file in APPDATA or Program Files.

Help much appreciated.

Tried C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Riecoin\riecoin.conf?

Magician! Thanks! The conf file didn't exist but I just had to create it with the nodelist from cryptoid, restarted and it's now syncing. Any idea how much disk space this will take up as I may need to move it to an external drive?

I remember following the launch of riecoin and even mined it in the first few weeks on ypool. I see things have changed up a little and there is not a private pool. I've contacted ziip and also messaged on the website but have not been able to get an invite. I'm currently mining on riepool and my stats are quite rubbish for an i7 running for 24 hours. I've 0.07 of a riecoin confirmed. Is there anyone that can provide an invite to the private pool?
